The Islanders have allowed two goals or less in four of their six games. Ilya Sorokin is expected to be in net for New York. He finished second for the Vezina Trophy last season.
Linus Ullmark has been outstanding in goal for the Senators. Ullmark is 5-0 and third in the NHL with a .948 save percentage. Ottawa has only allowed an average of 1.4 goals per game during Ullmark's five starts. Defenseman Thomas Chabot is tied for second in the league with 23 blocked shots.
The Senators should have extra motivation to play well defensively after an embarrassing, 7-2, home loss to the Blues two days ago. Backup goalie Samuel Ersson was in net for Ottawa in that game.
