04-24-17 | Rays -120 v. Orioles | Top | 3-6 | Loss | -120 | 11 h 59 m | Show |
Tampa Bay at Baltimore 7:00 ET Rays over Orioles- As the guys in my old neighborhood used to say when growing up, 'not for nothin' but how can Tampa Bay be favored at Baltimore? Well, we have to evaluate the pitching match-up to see what is going on. So far in 2017 in appears that former ace Chris Archer (2-0, 3.20 ERA) has regained his form as Tampa Bay is 4-0 in his starts this season and his mound opponent for Baltimore Ubaldo Jimenez (1-0, 5.51) has a deceiving record as he has received great run support while having a 1.47 WHIP. I can only go one way here. Take the RAYS! |
04-23-17 | Marlins v. Padres +101 | 7-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 36 m | Show
Miami at San Diego 4:40 ET Padres over Marlins- Look out! Mike (Giancarlo) Stanton is heating up hitting homers in three straight games including two last night and now has seven homers for the season after a slow start. His his power is totally awesome but the Padres will look to pitch around him today. Tom Koehler (0-1, 5.40 ERA) will start for the Marlins and he is 3-0 lifetime against the Padres but has surrendered a few homers himself (five) tied for the lead in most given up. Miami is just 5-11 in their last 16 games in San Diego and fall here. Take the PADRES! |
04-23-17 | Giants -110 v. Rockies | 0-8 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 20 m | Show
San Francisco at Colorado 3:10 ET Giants over Rockies- The Giants enter this contest losers in five of their last six while Colorado has record wins in five of their last six are are 5-1 against San Francisco already this season. Jeff Samardzija (0-3, 6.16 ERA) may be wishing he had gone to the NFL but is 3-3 with an excellent 2.55 ERA lifetime against Colorado. The Rockies will start Kyle Freeland (1-1, 4.91) and has allowed 16 hits in 14.2 innings while having a WHIP of 1.70 which will spell defeat here. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
04-23-17 | Braves -116 v. Phillies | Top | 2-5 | Loss | -116 | 5 h 48 m | Show |
Atlanta at Philadelphia 1:35 ET Braves over Phillies- It is said that baseball is a game of streaks and the Atlanta Braves are the epitome of that axiom. The Braves had lost five straight and then won five straight and are now in the mist of a five game losing streak once again. Well, if the numbers remain consistent they should win here just as a matter of balance. Atlanta will start Mike Foltynewicz (0-2, 4.26 ERA) including a loss in his last outing where he allowed just two runs on five hits in seven innings (not a bad performance) and he is 2-1 lifetime against the Phillies. Zach Eflin (0-0) was called up from the minors and gets the nod because of an injury to Clay Buchholz. Although the Braves are 1-7 in their last eight road games they are 7-2 over the Phillies in their last nine meetings. Take ATLANTA! |
04-22-17 | Blue Jays +145 v. Angels | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 47 m | Show
Toronto at L.A. Angels 9:10 ET Blue Jays over Angels- Two floundering clubs square-off in Los Angeles where the Angels have dropped three straight and the Blue Jays are 6-2 in their last eight meetings in LA. Toronto won for just the second time on the road last night defeating LA 8-7 in 13 innings as the Angels lost for the ninth time in their last 10 games overall. The pitching match-up doesn't show much for either side but momentum has swung over to the Blue Jays. Take TORONTO! |
04-22-17 | Dodgers -112 v. Diamondbacks | Top | 5-11 | Loss | -112 | 11 h 55 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at Arizona 8:10 ET Dodgers over Diamondbacks- East meets West (sorta) as the struggling Dodgers continue their series at Chase Field and the trends are not very favorable. Los Angeles is just 2-6 in their last eight road games while Arizona is 15-3 in their last 18 home games. But, the Dodgers are 43-20 in the last 63 meetings a larger sample that I will rely on. On the mound the D'Backs will send Robbie Ray (1-0, 1.96 ERA) who has been outstanding allowing just 10 hits in 18.1 innings with his teammates winning all three of his starts. Arizona has taken three straight in the series this season after opening with two straight losses and will facing Kenta Maeda who is 3-1 with a 3.62 ERA in seven career starts and is throwing to a respectable 1.36 WHIP. Somehow the Dodgers win. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-22-17 | Tigers v. Twins +100 | 5-4 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 59 m | Show
Detroit at Minnesota 2:10 ET Twins over Tigers- Both clubs enter this fray with 8-8 records but the Tigers have dropped four straight (all on the road) and may be without slugger Miguel Cabrera who left last night's game with a groin strain. Detroit is looking to break this downward trend by sending Matthew Boyd (2-1, 3.77 ERA) to the hill and he has dominated the Twins going 4-1 with a 3.38 ERA in six career starts including holding the Twins to one-hit in six scoreless innings 11 days ago. Detroit had won 11 straight in Minnesota and now that streak has ended and it's the Twins turn. Take MINNESOTA! |
04-21-17 | Astros v. Rays +105 | 6-3 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 3 m | Show
Houston at Tampa Bay 7:10 ET Rays over Astros- The Tampa Bay Rays who have won three straight wish that they could play all their games at home where they are 8-2 while winning just one of seven on the road. Houston has had no such problems on the road winning four of five thus far this season w but do struggle in certain conditions. The Astros just aren't able to put in together where playing on astroturf (kind of funny isn't it) going 6-20 and are 1-7 in their last eight at Tampa Bay. Houston will start Mike Fiers (0-1, 5.40 ERA) while the Rays will start Alex Cobb (1-1, 4.50) who has had two shaky performances in a row but will 'buck' up here and post a win. Take TAMPA BAY! |
04-21-17 | Yankees v. Pirates -101 | Top | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 10 h 2 m | Show |
N.Y. Yankees at Pittsburgh 7:05 ET Pirates over New York- The Yankees enter Pittsburgh winning nine of their last 10 and will be sending a rejuvenated C.C. Sabathia (2-0, 1.47 ERA) to the hill against the struggling Pirates. Pittsburgh will send winless Tyler Glasnow (0-1, 12.15) to the mound and he yet to post a MLB win after 10 lifetime appearances. The Buc's who were swept three games by St. Louis after themselves sweeping the Cubs three games will be without center fielder Starling Marte who was caught cheating with a performance-enhancing drug and is on an 80-game suspension. Numbers never lie but can be very misleading as the Yankees are 9-3 in the last 12 meetings (have not met since 2014) and the Pirates are just 8-20 in their last 28 home games. This will change tonight. Take PITTSBURGH! |
04-20-17 | Cardinals v. Brewers +110 | 5-7 | Win | 110 | 11 h 4 m | Show
St. Louis at Milwaukee 8:00 ET Brewers over Cardinals- The Cardinals who started 3-9 are looking for their fourth straight win after winning three straight games over Pittsburgh with all wins by 2-1 scores. Carlos Martinez (0-2, 3.57 ERA) the Opening Day starter for St. Louis had 11 strike-outs his last time out but also walked eight batters against the Yankees. He was 3-0 with a 1.38 ERA against the Brewers last season while Milwaukee will start Zach Davies who has been putrid allowing 21 hits in 14.1 innings with an 8.79 ERA. Yet, baseball is a funny game at times as Davies is 1-0 with a 1.66 ERA in three career starts against the Cardinals. In a surprise take MILWAUKEE! |
04-20-17 | Orioles v. Reds +113 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 7 m | Show |
Baltimore at Cincinnati 7:10 ET Reds over Orioles- Cincinnati may be leading the N.L Central but are just 2-4 in their last six at home as they host Baltimore who is 21-8 in their last 29 interleague games. The Orioles wil send Wade Miley (1-0, 2.45 ERA) to the mound who owns a 3-2 mark with a 4.25 ERA in six starts against the Cincinnati. Miley has been almost un-hittable this season surrendering just six hits in 11 innings but has had issues with getting the ball over the plate walking seven in his first start and has a 6.17 ERA in his last 11 starts last season. Scott Feldman (1-1, 2.87) had control problems of his own walking five his last time out is 5-2 lifetime against Baltimore and gets the win tonight. Take CINCINNATI! |
04-20-17 | Tigers v. Rays -111 | 1-8 | Win | 100 | 4 h 11 m | Show
Detroit at Tampa Bay 1:10 ET Rays over Tigers- Did you see it? I saw it in real time and fine it difficult to believe. Last night with the lead late in the game with the bases loaded center fielder Kevin Kiermaier miss-played a line drive that handed the Tigers three runs and a 7-5 lead. This was undone in the bottom of the ninth when Detroit shortstop Jose Iglesias tripped over the second base bag while fielding an inning ending double-play throwing the ball away so that the Rays could score the winning runs. So much for the quality of play in today's MLB. Tampa's Erasmo Ramirez had 63 relief appearances last season but will get the start today and it is noteworthy to mention that he was 11-5 as a starter in 2015. Rays have the 'mojo' right now as they go for the 3-game sweep. Take TAMPA BAY! |
04-19-17 | Orioles +102 v. Reds | Top | 2-0 | Win | 102 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
Baltimore at Cincinnati 7:10 ET Orioles over Reds- The Reds flexed their muscle yesterday pounding the Orioles 9-3 and today they will send their young phenom Amir Garrett (2-0, 1.42 ERA) to the mound looking to even their record at 3-3 on this current 10-game homestand. Baltimore will start Ubaldo Jimenez (0-0, 10.38) who has had great support but no wins as he hasn't lasted five innings in eight of his two starts this season. But, inter-league play gives the O's the advantage as they are 21-8 in their last 29 interleague games while Cincinnati is just 16-37 against the AL. Take BALTIMORE! |
04-19-17 | Red Sox v. Blue Jays +108 | 0-3 | Win | 108 | 10 h 19 m | Show
Boston at Toronto 7:07 ET Blue Jays over Red Sox- The Red Sox are starting to show their 'stuff' as they have won their last four while the Blue Jays are now a MLB worst 2-11. Toronto will start Francisco Liriano (0-1, 9.00 ERA) who only retired one batter in his first start of the season bounced back against the Orioles surrendering two runs on five hits while striking out 10. Boston will hand the ball to Rick Porcello (1-1, 7.56) who is off to a dismal start as he has had trouble controlling his fastball. Although he is 7-7 lifetime against Toronto his is just 3-5 with a 6.23 ERA in nine career starts at the Rogers Center. Take the BLUE JAYS! |
04-19-17 | Marlins +141 v. Mariners | 5-10 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 47 m | Show
Miami at Seattle 3:40 ET Marlins over Mariners- 'King' Felix Hernandez (1-1, 2.95 ERA) is off a stellar performance against Texas on Friday allowing one run in 7.1 innings. Miami will start Edinson Volquez (0-1, 3.45) is winless in three starts but is 5-0 with a 2.66 ERA lifetime against the Mariners in eight career appearances. Hernandez's strike-outs are down and hits allowed are up over one per inning and the Marlins put the ball in play enough to win here. Take MIAMI! |
04-18-17 | Marlins -101 v. Mariners | 5-0 | Win | 100 | 13 h 9 m | Show
Miami at Seattle 10:10 ET Marlins over Mariners- Seattle posted their fourth straight win last night as they defeated the Marlins who had to make the longest flight in baseball from Miami to Seattle after a win over the Mets and were never in Monday's 6-1 loss. Seattle will start Yovani Gallardo (0-1, 6.30) who has struggled in his first two starts with a 2.10 WHIP allowing 15 hits and six walks in just 10 innings of work. The Marlins will start Wei-Yin Chen (1-0, 7.00) who is looking to bounce back from a poor performance of his own against the Mets and is 3-3 with a 3.04 ERA lifetime against Seattle. Take MIAMI! |
04-18-17 | Tigers v. Rays -115 | Top | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 12 m | Show |
Detroit at Tampa Bay 7:10 ET Rays over Tigers- The 2016 American League rookie of the year will start for the Tigers tonight as Michael Fulmer (1-0, 2.25 ERA) take the hill against the Rays. Detroit who are in the mist 4th of a 9-game road trip took 2-of-3 off Cleveland after losing 14 of 18 meetings last season. Tampa Bay meanwhile, returns home after a 1-6 road trip losing their final three in Boston. Matt Andriese (0-0, 4.50) get the nod for the Rays and is looking to post his first win of the season and he has a chance at home where Tampa is 5-2 on the season. Take TAMPA BAY! |
04-18-17 | Red Sox v. Blue Jays -147 | 8-7 | Loss | -147 | 10 h 10 m | Show
Boston at Toronto 7:07 ET Blue Jays over Red Sox- Toronto has scored the least runs in MLB (34) and have the worst record at 2-10 scoring two runs or less in seven of their 12 games. Boston is starting a six game road trio here and won their last last three at Fenway but find themselves in a tough spot here as scheduled starter Eduardo Rodriguez will not make the start, forcing the Red Sox to go to the minors for replacement starter Brian Johnson. Marcus Stroman (1-1, 1.76 ERA) gets the start for the Blue Jays and is 4-1 in seven starts against Boston. After a day off to 'collect' themselves the Jays rock here. Take TORONTO! |
04-17-17 | Marlins v. Mariners -135 | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 11 h 25 m | Show
Miami at Seattle 10:10 ET Mariners over Marlins- The Marlins started their 4-game series against the New York Mets with a 16-inning loss on Thursday and then reeled off three straight wins and now travel cross country to play in Seattle. The Mariners post an epic win for 'us' yesterday coming back from a 6-1 deficit to win 9-8. Miami is starting Tom Koehler (0-0, 3.27 ERA) has never faced Seattle and is 6-7 with an ERA of 4.50 in inter-league play and just 16-25 on the road. The Mariners send Ariel Miranda (0-1, 5.06) to the hill and he has never faced Miami but Seattle is 6-2 in his starts. Take MARINERS! |
04-17-17 | Pirates v. Cardinals -131 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 54 m | Show |
Pittsburgh at St. Louis 7:05 ET Cardinals over Pirates- Two clubs that are off three-game sweeps meet in St. Louis as the Cardinals who were 'swept' by the Yankees in New York hosts Pittsburgh who just 'swept' the Cubs in Chicago. The 'Red-Birds' have now dropped six of their last seven and have fallen to 3-9 and have the worst record in the National League. Pittsburgh is 'Riding high in April, but will be shot down in May.' (a little of ole Blue Eyes for ya) I'm just trying to say that after sweeping the Cubs in Chicago the Pirates will have a bit of a let-down here. Lance Lynn (0-1, 5.23 ERA) is looking to bounce back from a poor performance against the Nationals and will get the win here. Take ST. LOUIS! |
04-16-17 | Rangers v. Mariners +102 | Top | 7-8 | Win | 102 | 7 h 59 m | Show |
Texas at Seattle 4:10 ET Mariners over Rangers- After opening the season 2-8 the Mariners returned home to take the first two games of this 3-game set by holding Texas to just one run in those wins. Cole Hamels (0-0, 2.77 ERA) is making his 11th career start against Seattle and although is 5-3 lifetime was 2-1 last season with an ERA of 7.20 against the Mariners. Hisashi Iwakuma (0-1, 2.25) is looking for his first win of the season and is 9-6 in 19 career starts against the Rangers. The Mariners are 7-3 in Iwakumas' last 10 starts against Texas and the Rangers are 4-12 in their last 16 overall. Take SEATTLE! |
04-16-17 | Angels -109 v. Royals | 0-1 | Loss | -109 | 5 h 7 m | Show
L.A. Angels at Kansas City 2:15 ET Angels over Royals- I for the most part don't come back with a team that lost for me the pervious day but this one just sets-up right. The Angels bats have gone dormant the first two games of this series as they have dropped their last four. The Royals are trying to reach the break-even point and have won their last two. This one will be a bit tricky as the Royals have dominated the trends between these two winning 13 of the last 19 meetings. But, not today. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-16-17 | Brewers v. Reds +101 | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 6 m | Show
Milwaukee at Cincinnati 1:00 ET Reds over Brewers- Cincinnati is looking to even this four-game series with a win today after Saturday's 7-5 victory. The Reds who have the best record in the National League will have Sal Romano making his Major League debut after an excellent spring posting a 1.38 ERA and a WHIP of 0.92. After an Opening Day loss Cincinnati has won eight of their last 11 and will have their way against Wily Peralta (2-0, 2.45 ERA) who si 5-6 lifetime against the Reds. Take CINCINNATI! |
04-15-17 | Angels -117 v. Royals | 2-3 | Loss | -117 | 10 h 31 m | Show
L.A. Angels at Kansas City 7:15 ET Angels over Royals- After winning their last two games the 4-6 Royals are still a long way from their championship level of play. Normally, when I think of Kansas City playing at home a feel they have a strong advantage but that isn't the case as they have dropped six of their last eight when hosting. Los Angeles has righted the ship so to speak winning 15 of their last 22 while the Royals have dropped 10 of their last 14. This must be one of the reasons that Kansas City is an underdog at home. Take the ANGLES! |
04-15-17 | Padres v. Braves -103 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 9 h 30 m | Show
San Diego at Atlanta 7:10 ET Braves over Padres- Last night Atlanta played their first ever-game at their new ball park Sun Trust Park and the won their first home games and second in-a-row after starting 1-6. Former Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey (0-1, 4.76 ERA) brings a 1-3 lifetime mark against the Padres into this match-up while his counterpart for San Diego Clayton Richard (1-1, 2.57) is 0-5 lifetime against Atlanta. The Braves have won the last five meetings including their last four as hosts and the Padres are just 16-35 in their last 51 road games. Take ATLANTA! |
04-15-17 | Tigers v. Indians -147 | Top | 6-13 | Win | 100 | 7 h 33 m | Show |
Detroit at Cleveland 4:10 ET Indians over Tigers- The American League Champions the Cleveland Indians have dropped their last three and and six of their last seven and they have their 'best' going to the hill today. Corey Kluber (0-1, 5.25 ERA) is not off to the best start but he has a great history entering this contest against Detroit. Justin Verlander (1-0, 1.35) has had two good outings but is just 19-21 lifetime against the Indians and the Tigers are 1-7 in his last eight starts against the Tribe. When you add that Cleveland is 21-6 in Kluber's last 27 starts on grass and the Indians are 47-22 at home. Take CLEVELAND! |
04-14-17 | Cardinals v. Yankees -140 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 54 m | Show |
St. Louis at New York Yankees 7:05 ET Yankees over Cardinals- There was a time when both these clubs ruled their respective leagues but St. Louis has fallen a bit and the Yankees have dropped out of contention since the departure of Derek Jeter. New York is on a four-game winning streak and will send their winless ace Masahiro Tanaka (0-1, 11.74 ERA) who has an ERA of 0.38 in spring training will regain his form here (Yankee Stadium) where he is 20-7 with a 3.31 ERA in his career. Take NEW YORK! |
04-13-17 | Mets v. Marlins -123 | 9-8 | Loss | -123 | 11 h 36 m | Show
New York Mets at Miami 7:10 ET Marlins over Mets- This is a re-match of the series played in New York last week where the Marlins took 2-of-3 from the Mets. Miami's Wei-Yin Chen (1-0, 1.50 ERA) is now 2-0 versus New York posting a 1.38 ERA while the Mets will start Robert Gsellman who lost to Miami Saturday. Add that the Marlins are 8-0 in Chen's last eight starts in Miami while the Mets are 7-1 in their last eight road games...something has got to give and I will go with the pitching. Take MIAMI! |
04-13-17 | Brewers -115 v. Reds | Top | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 11 h 26 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Cincinnati 7:10 ET Brewers over Reds- The 'Big Red Machine' has won four straight and at 7-2 have the best record in Major League baseball. It has been Cincinnati's bats that have done most of the work as they scored 22 runs in their three-game sweep of the Pirates in Pittsburgh while allowing just five runs. Tonight may seem more of a 'blast-from-the-past' as Bronson Arroyo (0-1, 13.50 ERA) returns to the Reds where he pitched from 2006-2013 winning 105 games. But, this is a 40-year old Arroyo who was pounded for six runs in four innings against St. Louis. Jimmy Nelson (0-0, 1.50 ERA) gets the start for Milwaukee and he is off a performance against the Cubs where he allowed just one run and only four hits in six innings. Take the BREWERS! |
04-13-17 | Orioles v. Blue Jays -116 | 2-1 | Loss | -116 | 11 h 34 m | Show
Baltimore at Toronto 7:07 ET Blue Jays over Orioles- The Toronto Blue Jays are as usual expected to contend in the AL East (always expected with little accomplished) are 1-7 on the season and have lost their last five games. Their bats have been silent as they managed just 17 hits in their last four games (that's 4.25 hits per game) and their pitching hasn't been all that great either. Francisco Liriano (0-0, 135.00 ERA) retired just one batter in his season's debut walking four batters while surrendering five earned runs. Liriano was 2-1 in Toronto last season with a 3.07 ERA in five starts Rogers Center. Baltimore starter Kevin Gausman )0-0, 5.40 ERA) has struggled thus far this season giving up 13 hits, seven walks and was 0-2 versus the Blue Jays last year. Take TORONTO! |
04-12-17 | A's +101 v. Royals | 8-3 | Win | 101 | 10 h 4 m | Show
Oakland at Kansas City 8:15 ET A's over Royals- Kansas City is a different team then the Champions were saw a few short season's ago. To start with their over-powering relief staff is gone as evidenced by the 7.77 ERA the bullpen owns this season. The Royals winners of just two of seven games also are struggling at the plate where slugger Eric Hosmer is just 5-of-28 and Trevor Plouffe is only 4-of 26. The beat goes on. Take OAKLAND! |
04-12-17 | Braves +104 v. Marlins | 5-4 | Win | 104 | 9 h 12 m | Show
Atlanta at Miami 7:10 ET Braves over Marlins- The Braves have lost five in-a-row and 6-of-7 to start the season and after last year's weak performance they were expecting more improvement. Atlanta has struggled both on the mound where they have allowed five runs or more in all six losses and they have stranded 36 base runners one an inning the last four games. Tonight the only lefty in the starting rotation in Jaime Garcia gets the start and has enough to drown the Marlins. Take ATLANTA! |
04-12-17 | Mets v. Phillies -113 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -113 | 9 h 9 m | Show |
New York Mets at Philadelphia 7:05 ET Phillies over Mets- Because of the depth of the Mets pitching staff they are considered the primary threat to dethrone the Cubs in the National League. One of New York's young studs is Zack Wheeler (0-1, 11.25 ERA) who pitched last week for the first time since missing the 2015-2016 seasons. I've seen Wheeler pitch up close and personal in Las Vegas three years ago before his injury and to tell you the truth I was not impressed. Philadelphia will start Vince Velasquez (0-1, 9.00) who lasted only four innings against Washington is his season debut Friday but did mange to strike out 10 hitters. Take the PHILLIES! |
04-11-17 | Diamondbacks +117 v. Giants | 4-3 | Win | 117 | 12 h 38 m | Show
Arizona at San Francisco 10:15 ET Diamondbacks over Giants- These two starters are facing-off for the second time already this season as Robbie Ray (0-0, 4.76 ERA) starts for Arizona and Jeff Samardzija (0-1, 10.13) takes the hill for the Giants. Samardzija was knocked around by the D'backs allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks last thursday in the 9-3 loss. Ray received a no-decision but allowed three runs on three hits in 5.2 innings. Although San Francisco has dominated this series 15-5 the snakes are the side here. Take ARIZONA! |
04-11-17 | Rangers v. Angels -113 | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 30 m | Show
Texas at L.A. Angels 10:07 ET Angels over Rangers- Baseball is the longest of seasons with trends becoming a large part of handicapping winners over the course of the year. This matchup has a number of trends that just can't be ignored. The start with the Angels who are 3-0 already at home are now 10-1 in their last 11 as hosts while Texas is 2-9 in their last 11 games overall. The Rangers are 19-26 all-time in its first road game of the season including four straight losses. Add that L.A. Is 36-22 against the Rangers the past three years regardless of who is pitching. Take the ANGELS! |
04-11-17 | Orioles +108 v. Red Sox | 1-8 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 39 m | Show
Baltimore at Boston 7:10 ET Orioles over Red Sox- The Red Sox are happy to return home where they are 2-0 after their 1-3 road trip. Boston hasn't been able to post a solid line-up as injuries. The flu and personal issues have had an impact on who's playing. Three Red Sox players have had the flu while Xander Bogaerts returns from bereavement leave and Jackie Bradley Jr. went on the 10-day disabled list. The Red Sox will start Drew Pomeranz who was 0-2 with a 6.43 ERA at Fenway Park. Baltimore starter Dylan Bundy allowed one run and just four singles in his start against Toronto with eight strikeouts in seven innings. Take BALTIMORE! |
04-10-17 | Dodgers +135 v. Cubs | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 50 m | Show
L.A. Dodgers at Chicago Cubs 8:05 ET Dodgers over Cubs- The two National League favorites will square off in Chicago for the World Series Champion Cubs season home opener. There will be plenty of pre-game pomp as the champs will be lauded for their first World Series win since 1908. Jon Lester who started Opening Day in St. Louis will start and he is 2-2 with a 3.06 ERA in five lifetime starts against the Dodgers while Alex Wood who is 1-2 with a 3/79 ERA in seven appearances against the Cubs. There are just two many distractions for the Cuns here in Chicago. Take LOS ANGELES! |

04-08-17 | Indians -106 v. Diamondbacks | Top | 2-11 | Loss | -106 | 10 h 41 m | Show |
Cleveland at Arizona 8:10 ET Indians over Diamondbacks- Arizona is off to a great start at 4-1 this season compared to last season when they lost their first nine home games and 16 of their first 21. Cleveland who is 11-3 in their last 14 road games and will have former Diamondbacks' right-hander Trevor Bauer who has no record against Arizona while Zack Greinke gets the start for the 'rattlers.' Grienke is 9-9 lifetime against the Indians with a 3.87 ERA. With Edwin Encarnacion added to the line-up the Indians skin the snakes. Take CLEVELAND! |
04-08-17 | Marlins +105 v. Mets | 8-1 | Win | 105 | 9 h 44 m | Show
Miami at New York Mets 7:10 ET Marlins over Mets- The New York Mets are said to have the best front line pitching in baseball but if they don't start scoring some runs that staff of young arms will under pressure all season. They will start Robert Gsellman who has an outstanding spring with a 2.31 ERA was 4-2 with a 2.42 ERA in seven starts as a rookie last season. Miami will send Adam Conley to the hill and he is 12-7 lifetime in two years and has a 1.11 ERA in 24 innings against the Mets. Take the MARLINS! |
04-08-17 | Braves +127 v. Pirates | 4-6 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 42 m | Show
Atlanta at Pittsburgh 7:05 ET Braves over Pirates- A pair of clubs that are having difficulty scoring runs meet in Pittsburgh where the Atlanta Braves visit the Bucs on a two game losing streak. The Pirates broke into the win column Friday 5-4 and will start Chad Kuhl who was rained-out of his first start in Boston. The Braves will start former Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey is 3-2 lifetime against Pittsburgh and picks up the win today. Take ATLANTA! |
04-07-17 | Mariners v. Angels -127 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 57 m | Show
Seattle at L.A. Angels 10:07 ET Angels over Mariners- The Mariners opened the season with three straight losses at Houston where they managed just four runs but, they equalled that number with a 4-2 win over the Astros with two runs in the ninth last night for their first win. The Angels split their four games and are off a loss to the A's where they managed just five singles. LA will start Jesse Chavez who is 0-5 with a 5.84 ERA in 17 appearances against the Mariners while Seattle will start Yovani Gallardo who had a 7.47 ERA in spring training and has allowed seven runs in nine innings in two starts against the Angels. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-07-17 | Marlins +108 v. Mets | 7-2 | Win | 108 | 8 h 56 m | Show
Miami at New York Mets 7:10 ET Marlins over Mets- The long awaited return of Zack Wheeler has the Metropolitans drooling over his addition to an already dominating pitching staff. Wei-Yin Chen will get the start for Miami and although New York has won six of the last eight home games against the Marlins the 'Fish' are 7-3 in Chen's last ten starts. One of which was a seven inning three hits and only one run allowed against these Mets. Take MIAMI! |
04-07-17 | Giants v. Padres +102 | 6-7 | Win | 102 | 7 h 19 m | Show
San Francisco at San Diego 6:40 ET Padres over Giants- A little strange history between these two last season as the Giants won the first nine meetings and San Diego responded by winning eight of the final 10 meetings. San Francisco will start veteran Matt Cain (4-8, 5.65 ERA) who claims to be fully healthy for the first time in four years seasons but had a 7.82 ERA in spring training. The Padres will start Luis Perdomo (9-10, 5.71) who earned a win over the Giants last season was 0-1 in the spring with a 2.41 ERA. Take the PADRES! |
04-06-17 | Giants v. Diamondbacks +101 | 3-9 | Win | 101 | 12 h 37 m | Show
San Francisco at Arizona 9:40 ET Diamondbacks over Giants- The storyline on the Giants has been that they can scoring plenty of runs and their starting pitching is strong but their bullpen is their weakness. San Francisco tried to address the issue in the off-season but we haven't seen much improvement as of yet. The Giants have scored five, eight and six runs in their three games but have only one win to show for it. Jeff Samardzija who 2-1 against Arizona with a 3.91 ERA get the start for the Jints while hard throwing Robbie Ray 1-1 against SF starts for the D'Backs. Once again Take ARIZONA! |
04-05-17 | Giants v. Diamondbacks +100 | 6-8 | Win | 100 | 11 h 48 m | Show
San Francisco at Arizona 9:40 ET Diamondbacks over Giants- The Giants figure to be in contention with the Dodgers in the West with their front line pitching and balanced line-up. The problem last season and so far this year is their bullpen. After an opening day meltdown from the bullpen the Giants pounded 15-hits yesterday in their 8-4 win a Chase field where they have won 10 of the last 12 meetings. Arizona will start newly acquired Taijuan Walker who is 1-0 lifetime against the Giants and was impressive during the spring. Take ARIZONA! |
04-05-17 | Indians -107 v. Rangers | 9-6 | Win | 100 | 9 h 16 m | Show
Cleveland at Texas 8:05 Indians over Rangers- I know that it's early in the baseball season but the idea that Cole Hamels (2016:15-5, 3.32 ERA) is an underdog at home raises an eyebrow. I realize that the Indians were in the World Series last season and have already matched last year's win total against the Rangers at two. Danny Salazar (2016:11-6, 3.87) who was 10-3 last season before injuries slowed him down will start for Cleveland and posted 37 strikeouts in 26 innings during the exhibition season and is ready to go. Take CLEVELAND! |
04-05-17 | Blue Jays v. Orioles -116 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 21 m | Show
Toronto at Baltimore 7:05 ET Orioles over Blue Jays- If spring training is any indication as to what is going to happen here would send 'us' over to Toronto. J.A. Happ (2016:20-4, 3.28 ERA) will start for the Blue Jays and posted a 1.76 ERA this spring while the Orioles starter Dylan Bundy (2016: 10-6, 4.02) was pushed around during the spring posting an ERA of 7.41. But, something happens after teams break to come and play 'real' games and their focus becomes more intense. Take BALTIMORE! |
04-03-17 | Indians v. Rangers +105 | Top | 8-5 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 55 m | Show |
Cleveland at Texas 7:05 ET Rangers over Indians- The Indians who blew a 3-1 lead to the Cubs in the World Series last season will send their ace Corey Kluber (2016 18-9 3.14 ERA) to the hill to start their 2017 quest. Yu Darvich (7-5, 3.41 ERA) who is 1-2 lifetime against Cleveland limited batters to a .214 batting average last season after returning from Tommy John surgery. Texas will be without Adrian Beltre (calf) but have added Mike Napoli while the Indians will be without Jason Kipnis and Lonnie Chisenhall who are on the disabled list. Take TEXAS! |
11-02-16 | Cubs v. Indians +110 | Top | 8-7 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 6 m | Show |
Chicago at Cleveland 8:00 ET Indians over Cubs- I know Chicago has won 113 of 167 games this season and they need just one more victory to end the longest championship drought in major sport history. Although I am a huge Kyle Hendricks (1-1, 0.53 ERA) fan, but I can't deny the dominance of Corey Kluber (2-1, 1.59). I believe the Cubs are better offensively playing with the DH as Kyle Schwarber gets into the line-up but if Kluber can repeat the common storyline of the World Series, the best pitcher goes wins three times. The money on Chicago for the series is huge and the 'books' are rooting for Cleveland and so am I. Take the INDIANS! |
11-01-16 | Cubs -141 v. Indians | Top | 9-3 | Win | 100 | 26 h 9 m | Show |
Chicago at Cleveland 8:00 ET Cubs over Indians- This is sort of a no brainer after passing Game 5 as I was not will to lay -240 on any game what-so-ever but once again it is now or never for the Cubs. Jake Arrieta (1-1, 3.78 ERA) gets the nod in Game 6 and we all know how dominating he has been and still can be at any given time. The Fact that the Indians with Josh Tomlin (2-0, 1.76) at home are underdogs speaks volumes to me. With Kyle Schwarber returning to the line-up as the designated hitter Chicago gains a huge advantage. Take the CUBS! |
10-29-16 | Indians v. Cubs -127 | 7-2 | Loss | -127 | 10 h 0 m | Show
Cleveland at Chicago Cubs 8:00 ET Cubs over Indians- The Indians pitching has been lights-out and they are being lead by Corey Kluber (3-1, 0.74 ERA) who dominated the Cubs in Game 1 by striking out nine and allowing four hits in over six innings. Part of the key to Cleveland's pitching success has been their bullpen which has had an inordinate amount of work that may affect their performance the rest of the way. Chicago will start one of their toughest competitors in John Lackey who has made two postseason starts lasting just four innings in both starts. This is a huge game for the Cubs who deliver once again when trailing in a series. Take CHICAGO! |
10-28-16 | Indians +195 v. Cubs | Top | 1-0 | Win | 195 | 24 h 44 m | Show |
Cleveland at Chicago 8:00 ET Indians over Cubs- I really hate to play against Kyle Hendricks (1-1, 1.65 ERA) as I think he is the most difficult of all the Chicago starting pitchers to hit. Hendricks who was 2-1 with a 1.89 ERA in three inter-league starts this season was also 9-2 with a 1.32 ERA at home during the regular season. But, this looks too easy! Cleveland starter Josh Tomlin (2-0, 2.53) will have his work cut out for him but can be up to the task. Take the INDIANS! |
10-26-16 | Cubs v. Indians +143 | Top | 5-1 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 36 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at Cleveland 7:00 ET Indians over Cubs- The 'invincible' Chicago Cubs whiffed 15 times in their Game 1 loss as good pitching in the post season usually prevails. Tonight they will start Jake Arrieta (0-1, 4.91 ERA) who seems to have lost his 'mojo' after a season and a half of total domination. Arrieta has given up four runs in three of his five career postseason starts including a start at Progressive Field when pitching for Baltimore in 2010. Trevor Bauer (0-0, 5.06) once again gets his chance in the post season as his previous start was derailed by a badly cut right pinkie finger. His cut is now completely healed (he said so) and he's ready to follow last night's performance with one of his own. Take CLEVELAND! |
10-25-16 | Cubs v. Indians +110 | Top | 0-6 | Win | 110 | 10 h 34 m | Show |
Chicago at Cleveland 8:00 ET Indians over Cubs- The best part of this years World Series is that a long suffering faithful of one team or another will get a chance to celebrate. If it is Chicago we are aware that a 108 year drought (1908) will end and if Cleveland wins they will pop the corks for the first time in 69 years. Both starting pitchers for Game 1 have been outstanding in the playoffs as the Cubs Jon Lester (2-0, 0.86 ERA) has surrendered just two runs in 13 innings against the Dodgers and owns a 2.50 ERA in 19 post season appearances. Cleveland will start former Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber (2-1, 0.98) allowed just nine hits in his first 13 innings of playoff work but was touched for two runs in five innings last time out against Toronto. The Indians have won 10 of their last 11 go on the warpath tonight. Take CLEVELAND! |
10-22-16 | Dodgers v. Cubs +125 | Top | 0-5 | Win | 125 | 19 h 30 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at Chicago Cubs 8:00 RT Cubs over Dodgers- I just don't see it, I mean in the old-days the Dodgers did it with pitching and defense, speed on the bases and an occasional 'pop' at the plate. But, this team may get the pitching and some hitting but their defense is atrocious. The thing that keeps quality pitching winning is great defense and the Dodgers just don't play it and that is discounting errors, they just don't make the plays. Los Angeles game Chicago life and the Cubs have jumped all over it. Kershaw is great but it ends here. Take CHICAGO! |
10-19-16 | Cubs v. Dodgers -102 | Top | 10-2 | Loss | -102 | 10 h 46 m | Show |
Chicago at L.A. Dodgers 8:00 ET Dodgers over Cubs- When it comes to playoffs in baseball pitching is the dominate factor as the Cubs are finding out. Chicago's line-up which many Cubs fans said was the most powerful since the 1927 have managed just six hits the past two games getting shutout twice. To night Los Angeles will start Julio Urias and the left-hander will become the youngest pitcher to start a postseason game while Chicago wil start John Lackey making his 25th postseason appearance. The key here is that the Cubs are in a funk at the plate and the 'big-game' pressure seems to have taken effect. Take LOS ANGELES! |
10-18-16 | Cubs v. Dodgers +113 | Top | 0-6 | Win | 113 | 10 h 2 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at L.A. Dodgers 8:00 ET Dodgers over Cubs- The moment the Dodgers won Game 2 (Megabucks winner) my thoughts were that I was going to love playing on Chicago and Jake Arrieta (0-0, 3.00 ERA). That was before I realized that the veteran Rich Hill (0-1, 6.43) who won 12 regular season games after his arrival in Los Angeles from Oakland and has yet to get a win in the post-season. Arrieta was a pedestrian 6-4 with a 3.69 ERA after the All-Star break. The 'big' Chicago bats are doing what free swings usually do in crush time...they struggle. Take the DODGERS! |
10-16-16 | Dodgers -125 v. Cubs | Top | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 10 h 34 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at Chicago Cubs 8:00 ET Dodgers over Cubs- This is a 'new' post season for Clayton Kershaw (1-0, 5.84 ERA) who pitched in all three NL Division wins for Los Angeles. Winning during the post-season is a difficulty that has plagued him he entire career going just 3-6 with a 4.79 ERA but was 4-3 with a 2.31 ERA on the road. Chicago will start Kyle Hendricks (0-0, 4.91) who was 9-2 at home this season with a 1.32 ERA. Although the Dodgers were under .500 on the road this season 40-45 they will muster up enough runs here to post a victory. Take LOS ANGELES! |
10-15-16 | Blue Jays v. Indians +124 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 124 | 5 h 30 m | Show |
Toronto at Cleveland 4:00 ET Indians over Blue Jays- Game 2 of this series presents some handicapping problems. The first of which is that Toronto is favored on the road but for the most part I have to believe that is because of two things. First the Blue Jays will start J.A. Happ who was 20-4 during the regular season and he has one playoff win over Texas and the fact that the Blue Jays lost Game 1 many will use the zig-zag system and take the previous games loser. Josh Tomlin gets the surprise start with the injury to Trevor Bauer and he is more then capable. Too much support of the visitor here. Take CLEVELAND! |
10-14-16 | Blue Jays v. Indians -129 | 0-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 57 m | Show
Toronto at Cleveland 8:00 ET Indians over Blue Jays- Tonight's Game 1 starters in the American League Championship Series were nearly 'perfect' in their playoff appearances this post-season. Cleveland's Corey Kluber (1-0, 0.00 ERA) scattering three hits in seven scoreless innings against Boston in Game 2 of the Division Series sweep. Kluber who was 18-9 this season has struggled previously against the Blue Jays going 1-3 with a 5.34 ERA in five career starts. The Blue Jays will start Marco Estrada (1-0, 1.08) surrendered one run in 8.1 innings against Texas and was 2-1 with a 2.33 ERA in last years' playoffs. Still, the Indians have the home mojo and get the win here. Take CLEVELAND! |
10-13-16 | Dodgers +147 v. Nationals | 4-3 | Win | 147 | 22 h 25 m | Show
L.A. Dodgers at Washington 8:00 ET Dodgers over Nationals- I can't believe that I am actually 'playing against' Max Scherzer (0-1, 6.00 ERA) in a game this important. Los Angeles will start Rich Hill (0-1, 8.31) and although he was a disappointment in Game 2 and even if Dave Roberts decides on rookie Julio Urias they still have the mojo. Washington's defensive weaknesses and holes in the line-up will be exposed tonight. Take LOS ANGELES! |
10-11-16 | Cubs -119 v. Giants | Top | 6-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 9 m | Show |
Chicago at San Francisco 8:30 ET Cubs over Giants- How do you get rid of the San Francisco Giants? I mean they have won a record 10 straight elimination contests and face another one tonight. Chicago on the other hand have dropped eight of their last 10 playoff games with just the two wins over the Giants in Chicago. The Cubs will start veteran John Lackey (11-8, 3.35 ERA) has had only three career starts against San Francisco and is 1-1 with a 2.37 ERA while the Giants starter Matt Moore (13-12, 4.08) is making his 5th playoff appearance and is 1-1 4.41 ERA. The series ends here. Take CHICAGO! |
10-10-16 | Cubs -105 v. Giants | Top | 5-6 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 33 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at San Francisco 9:30 ET Cubs over Giants- This one could shape up as a pitching classic with Madison Bumgarner throwing for the Giants and Jake Arrieta (18-8, 3.10 ERA) pitching for Chicago. Bumgarner of course is 5-1 with one save and a 0.88 ERA in eight post-season games the past two seasons. Arrieta was 11-3 on the road with a 2.08 ERA and is 4-2 with a 1.82 ERA lifetime against the Giants. The odd stat here is that the Cubs had a better road record then San Francisco had home record. This is Chicago's year as they close out the Giants with a 3-0 sweep! Take the CUBS! |
10-09-16 | Rangers +180 v. Blue Jays | 6-7 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 55 m | Show
Texas at Toronto 7:30 ET Rangers over Blue Jays- The Texas Rangers were the winningest team in the American League during the regular 162-game season but have not been able to convert a win in the playoffs down 0-2 entering Toronto tonight. This is a mirror image of what took place last season when Texas won the first two games in Toronto before dropping three straight. Colby Lewis (6-5, 3.71 ERA) was 0-4 with a 6.38 ERA in his last four starts off the disabled list but is 4-1 with a 2.38 ERA in the playoffs. The Blue Jays Aaron SanChez (15-2, 3.00) the AL ERA leader had his worst outing of the season against Texas surrendering six runs and four walk in 6.2 innings. Wth their backs against the wall take TEXAS! |
10-09-16 | Dodgers -109 v. Nationals | Top | 2-5 | Loss | -109 | 4 h 56 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at Washington 1:00 ET Dodgers over Nationals- Great storyline here is that the Dodgers starter Rich Hill (12-5, 2.12 ERA) was released by Washington last spring and now he is starting against them in the playoffs. Hill was dealt to Los Angeles from the Athletics and has been the Dodgers most consistent starter in his short time here. With Stephen Strasburg out Tanner Roark (16-10, 2.83) gets the nod for the Nationals making his first career post-season start. But, it's Hill who went 3-2 with a 1.83 ERA with a 0.79 WHIP will be the difference. Take LOS ANGELES! |
10-07-16 | Giants v. Cubs -176 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 4 m | Show
San Francisco at Chicago Cubs 9:00 ET Cubs over Giants- Believe it or not the Cubs got what the wanted when the Giants defeated the Mets and became their opponent for this series. After the way New York's pitching shut Chicago down last season the Cubbies wanted no part of that staff (be it as injured as it was). San Francisco is start Johnny Cueto (18-5, 2.79 ERA) who is 9-8 with a 3.24 ERA in 24 career starts including 5-5 with a 3.07 ERA at Wrigley Field. Jon Lester will make the start for Chicago and he is 10-2 with a 1.74 ERA at home this season and is 4-1 with a 2.25 ERA in five career starts against the Giants. Take CHICAGO! |
10-07-16 | Dodgers -142 v. Nationals | Top | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 6 h 17 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at Washington 5:30 ET Dodgers over Nationals- Clayton Kershaw (12-4, 1.69 ERA) was working on one of his best season's until he was side-tracked with injuries that limited his action. He is know for his failures in the post season (2-6, 4.59 ERA) with only two wins in 14 starts. One thing Kershaw has done is dominate the Nationals as he is 10-2 with a 2.02 ERA lifetime. Max Scherzer (20-7, 2.96) will hurl for Washington and he didn't face the Dodgers this season and is just 2-4 with a 3.29 ERA in 10 career starts against L.A. With it all...take the DODGERS! |
10-07-16 | Red Sox v. Indians -101 | 0-6 | Win | 100 | 5 h 29 m | Show
Boston at Cleveland 4:30 ET Indians over Red Sox- David Price (17-9, 3.99 ERA) has never won a playoff game that he has started but the Boston lefty is 5-0 lifetime at Progressive Field. His overall playoff record is 2-7 with a 5.12 ERA while Cleveland starter Corey Kluber (18-9, 3.14) closed the season 9-1 in his last 14 starts with a 2.52 ERA. Price who has had 14 career starts against the Tribe is 10-2 with a 2.24 ERA lifetime against Cleveland. This is a tough match-up but I once again will take the home team here. Take CLEVELAND! |
10-07-16 | Blue Jays v. Rangers -120 | 5-3 | Loss | -120 | 12 h 35 m | Show
Toronto at Texas 1:00 ET Rangers over Blue Jays- The team with the best record in the American League the Texas Rangers are up against it as the Blue Jays took Game 1 as predicted and now face 20-game winner J.A. Happ (20-4, 3.18 ERA) who is 1-0 lifetime against the Rangers. Texas will start Yu Darvish (7-5, 3.41) who has had an injury plagued season finished strong allowing less then two runs in three of his last four starts. He is 3-2 with a 2.45 ERA in seven career starts against Toronto and is seeing them for the first time this year. (Advantage Darvish!) Although Texas has lost 10 of 11 at home in ALDS action they win here. Take the RANGERS! |
10-06-16 | Red Sox v. Indians +134 | 4-5 | Win | 134 | 9 h 48 m | Show
Boston at Cleveland 8:00 ET Indians (+) over Red Sox- How the Boston Red Sox ended up third in the American League when all was said and done shocks me. The way they did it was to lose five of their last six but will start Rick Porcello (22-4, 3.15 ERA) who most likely will be the AL Cy Young Award winner and he is 10-4 with a 3.35 ERA in 22 career starts against the Indians. For Cleveland who has a decimated pitching staff it will be Trevor Bauer (12-8, 4.26) who imploded down the stretch with a 7.20 ERA in his last five starts. He hasn't been very effective against Boston either allowing six runs and 10 hits in six innings. But, it's the playoffs and things change with home tension. Take CLEVELAND! |
10-06-16 | Blue Jays +127 v. Rangers | Top | 10-1 | Win | 127 | 6 h 55 m | Show |
Toronto at Texas 4:30 ET Blue Jays (+) over Rangers- As Vince Sully used to say about the Giants and Dodgers 'this one could be a donnybrook.' Toronto enters this contest riding a three-game winning streak while Texas enters off two losses. These two have a history and some of it is not pretty but it is the series I believe most ppeople wanted and here it comes. Marco Estrada starting for the Blue Jays closed down the stretch allowing just two runs in 19 innings and was 2-1 with a 2.33 ERA in last season's playoffs with 15 strikeouts and one walk. Texas starter Cole Hamels (15-5, 3.32) struggled at the end allowing five or more runs in four of his six final starts. Take TORONTO! |
10-05-16 | Giants v. Mets +110 | Top | 3-0 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 12 m | Show |
San Francisco at New York Mets 8:00 ET Mets over Giants- How these two clubs ended up with the same record is a result of a second have San Francisco collapse and the Mets will for survival after losing a slue of starts to season ending injuries. Madison Bumgarner (15-9, 2.74 ERA) is already one of the greatest post-season pitchers in MLB history wearing three World Series rings. He is 7-3 with a 2.14 ERA with two shutouts and he's 5-1 with a 0.91 ERA in his last eight post-season starts. The Mets will counter with Noah Syndergaard (14-9, 2.60 ERA) who was 1-1 against the Giants this year with a 2.63 ERA. Even though New York is just 13-21 against the West they will have a ruckus crowd leading them support. Take the M-E-T-S! |
10-04-16 | Orioles v. Blue Jays -143 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 10 h 6 m | Show
Baltimore at Toronto 8:00 ET Blue Jays over Orioles- These two are about as even as you can get as they both finished the season with identical 89-73 records with the Blue Jays winning 10 of the 19 meetings earning the one-game playoff home field advantage. Baltimore will start Chris Tillman (16-6, 3.77 ERA) who was 4-0 against Toronto this season but was 0-4 against them last season and is 5-10 lifetime against the Jays. Marcus Stroman (9-10, 4.37) who was 1-0 in the playoffs last season and closed this season allowing three or fewer runs in five of his last six starts. Take TORONTO! |
10-01-16 | Indians -120 v. Royals | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 6 h 47 m | Show
Cleveland at Kansas City 4:15 ET Indians over Royals- The defending World Series champion Kansas City Royals will not make the playoffs this season and need one win in their final two game to guarantee them a fourth consecutive winning season. Cleveland on the other hand is going to the post season and trail their first round opponent the Boston Red Sox by a half-game for home field advantage. Trevor Bauer (12-8, 4.26 ERA) is 1-2 with a 3.41 ERA in six starts against the Royals none of which was this year while Edinson Volquez (10-11, 5.37) will start for Kansas City and he is winless in his last six starts. Take CLEVELAND! |
