Friday, the Kansas City Royals took game one against the Detroit Tigers 3 to 1. Through four games in the series this year all have went well under the total. That should change today with two struggling pitchers on the mound in Kris Bubic and Beau Brieske. A positive for Detroit is Brieske’s home ERA is just 2.76. Take the Tigers in this spot.

Thursday, the Cubs and Reds will complete their second series of the season. After yesterday’s big 8-3 victory the Cubs will turn to veteran pitcher Kyle Hendricks. Hendricks is coming off a masterful outing against the St. Louis Cardinals, but did struggle in late May against the Reds. Take the Reds to finish grab the series finale as a slight underdog.

As strong as the St. Louis Cardinals have been, look for the Marlins to take a step forward Wednesday. Ace Sandy Alcantara should bounce back from giving up four runs to the New York Mets via two home runs. Earlier this year he pitched eight scoreless innings against the St. Louis Cardinals on April 20th. Take the Marlins.

Tonight we will take the Angels to grab another home win over the Chicago White Sox. After getting back to .500 on June 21st, the White Sox have lost five of their last six. The team has also lost five of the last six starts with veteran pitcher Johnny Cuetto on the mound. Take the Angels as they produce enough at the plate to offset any issues from rookie pitcher Chase Silseth.  

As heavy favorites on Monday the Blue Jays crushed the Red Sox 7-2. It marked the first time in twelve games that the Blue Jays allowed three runs or less to an opposing team. As great as Ross Stripling’s month of June has been, he has had issues against the Red Sox. Last season in three starts against the Red Sox he sixteen runs in just over eleven innings combined. Take the underdog Red Sox. 

One of the wildest games last week was the Guardians 11-10 victory over the Twins on June 22nd. Both starting pitchers that day in Sonny Gray and Triston McKenzie are on the mound in Monday’s new series. As great as McKenzie’s home ERA is at 2.76, the Twins have hit five of the fourteen home runs McKenzie has allowed this season. Back the road favored Twins.  

Arizona has had a tough time mustering runs as of late. Saturday’s starter in Zach Davies is a clear visual of this. In four of his last five starts the Diamondbacks have scored three runs or less, including one run three times. After laying an egg in yesterday’s 5-1 loss to the Tigers, tonight should serve as a great bounce back spot. Expect the Diamondbacks to end their four game losing streak and handle Tigers pitcher Alex Faedo.

Saturday, the New York Mets will aim to win their fifth game over the Marlins in the past week. They took three of four in their home stand last week, and won the opener 5-3 at Miami yesterday. In the victory the Mets capitalized converting five runs on just six total hits. Take the Mets once again Saturday as the market continues to adjust on Marlins pitcher Trevor Rogers. 

The Dodgers continue their road travel in a new series against the Atlanta Braves. Against the Cincinnati Reds the Dodgers score eight runs or more in all three games. One cannot expect that level of production to continue, but expect the Dodgers eventually get a big inning off of Braves pitcher Ian Anderson. Anderson has struggled at home this season with an ERA of 5.84. Take the Dodgers. 

The New York Yankees will face the hot hitting Houston Astros Thursday. This will likely be the best series heading into the weekend. When Jameson Taillon is on the mound the Yankees have been exceptional at plating in runs. That’ll be a challenge against Astros starter Framber Valdez, and Taillon’s inability to extend into games. Yet, look for the Yankees to continue to find their magic and cash at home. 

Monday, the Blue Jays lost to home underdogs in the Chicago White Sox. Look for Tuesday to be a great bounce back spot as the Blue Jays scored five runs against the White Sox bullpen yesterday. Chicago starting pitcher Dylan Cease has struggled extending beyond five innings in three starts this month. Expect the Blue Jays to capitalize once again against the White Sox bullpen. Take Toronto.

The Texas Rangers up and down season had them near the .500 mark. Victories today and tomorrow over the Detroit Tigers would put them at 33-33 on the season. The outlook is strong as Detroit has lost six straight games, including the first two of this series. Take Texas Saturday as they continue their road success. 

At the end of May the Brewers stood at 32-18 but June has been unkind. They have just three wins over their past fourteen games, and have failed to win consecutive games since May 30th. After toppling the Mets Wednesday, there’s value on backing the Brewers once again Thursday. I love this spot as Mets pitcher Tylor Megill has struggled his past couple of outings. Take the Brew Crew as the underdogs.

Tuesday, the Cleveland Guardians began their nine game road trip with an extra inning victory over the Rockies. They are now 11-3 over their last fourteen games. Today the Guardians bats should outweigh the inexperience of pitcher Konnor Pilkington. Take the Guardians to keep their winning ways going against struggling Rockies pitcher Austin Gomber. 

The Tampa Bay Rays have won Shane Mcclanahan’s last six starts, which included a 4-2 victory over the Yankees on May 29th. Yet, concern lies with the Rays offense. In yesterday’s shutout loss the team struck out eleven times and committed two errors that led to the Yankees only runs. As great as McClanahan has been I’ll side with the Yankees to win their sixth straight. 

Throughout Jose Urquidy’s career he has dominated the Texas Rangers. In five starts he has thrown thirty seven strikeouts against the Texas Rangers, and allowed just six total runs. On May 22nd, he had his best outing of the season against the Rangers with ten strikeouts. Take the Astros to bounce back after losing in yesterday’s opener.

In game two of the Pirates and Cardinals I’ll take a shot on the big underdog Pirates. St. Louis lost both starts with Mikolas on the mound last season. Additionally, his first start this season Mikolas lasted just 3.2 innings as he threw a career-high forty one pitches in the first. Take the big payout where the Pirates should get opportunities in the second game of a double header. 

The Cincinnati Reds Mike Minor has a bloated ERA north of eight. The veteran has had his issues in his first two starts but it’s also a small sample. Today, he will get to see the Diamondbacks for the second time in less than a week. That should help Minor settle in a bit before he hands the ball to the bullpen. Take the Reds on a great underdog price.

This money line has steadily come down on the Cubs side. Yu Darvish has been out in three of his last four starts, including a gem outing against the Mets. But today he will face his old Cubs team. Even though most of the faces have changed there is an element of returning back. We’ll ride with the Cubs here as the home underdog.

The signs are there of a tired Red Sox team on the road. They did not plate a lot of runs in their prior series against the Angels, and now are on their third straight west coast road series. In yesterday’s victory they were fortunate to get out of a few pitching jams. Take Seattle in a proper bounce back spot.

Like most teams lately the Mets are proving that the Angels are just what the doctor ordered. After losing consecutive games in poor fashion to the San Diego Padres, the Mets crushed the Angels in game one for a 7 to 3 victory. In game two do not expect things to settle down for the Mets offense. Take the Mets.

Oakland squandered another golden opportunity for a win Friday, and lost 3-2 to the Guardians. The crushing loss after having a 2-0 lead, pushed the As back to a 20-40 record. On the mound Saturday will be Frankie Montas who has had maybe the worst string of luck for any pitcher in MLB. Saturday, the atmosphere should be just right for the As to break out of their slump. Take the As.

On May 19th, Rich Hill lasted just two innings in a home start against the Seattle Mariners. The disastrous outing was saved as the Red Sox ignited for twelve runs. Hill is still sporadic on the mound but is coming off his best start of the season. Take the Red Sox as they bounce back from a poor loss last night to the Angels. 

Tough series usually have a trickle effect into the next series. The St. Louis Cardinals are coming off being swept by the Tampa Bay Rays, in which they mustered just six total runs. At the start of a new series Cincinnati has shown promise recently, as they have won four straight series openers. Take the underdog Reds led by Luis Castillo. 

Thursday, the Miami Marlins will face divisional rival in the Nationals. Miami will be attempting to complete the three-game sweep of Washington, and will face Stephen Strasburg who will be on the mound for the first time this season. With as well as the Marlins have hit this series, primarily game one, look for that to carry over against Strasburg. They also finished off yesterday’s game in extras against the Nationals bullpen. Take the Marlins.

Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Rays pulled off one of the more improbable wins in MLB this season. They scored four runs on just three hits to topple the St. Louis Cardinals 4 to 2. Wednesday, the Rays will see several arms from the Cardinals as Packy Naughton takes the mound. Expect another grind it out style of victory from the Rays, who will improve to 20-13 at home.

Three nights in a row the New York Mets have delivered as underdogs.  Tonight will mark their sixth straight road game out of ten on their current West Coast trip. One has to expect a crashing come down to Earth game, especially after every single Met registered a hit in yesterday’s victory. Take the Padres here. 

Tuesday, the White Sox Michael Kopech will be aiming for redemption. In his last start against the Toronto Blue Jays he lasted just three innings, and surrendered two home runs. Yet, the Dodgers have had their own issues as of late. They’ve lost five of their last seven and have shown immense issues with their bullpen. Take the home underdog White Sox. 

Two of the last three outings for Noah Syndergaard have been atrocious quick outings. Now he has the pressure of stepping up to end the Angels eleven game losing streak. This should be a spot where the Angels can win this game in the latter innings, as the Red Sox Michael Wacha has not pitched beyond six innings all season. Take the Angels. 

The Texas Rangers ended their losing streak on Saturday, with a key third inning. Seattle may be just 11-20 on the road but they’ve performed better than their record suggests. Martiz Perez’s stout ERA of 1.42 should be challenged today. Take the Mariners as Texas streak of winning in Perez’s last six starts comes to an end.

Friday, Mike Minor will make his season debut for the Cincinnati Reds. Assuredly, he will have a shortened outing with a targeted pitch count. This can be a scary proposition for Reds backers considering the Royals lost in Minor’s last seven starts last year. Still, Cincinnati has been much better at the plate and have won five of their last six at home. Back the Reds.

For the third time this season the Tampa Bay Rays were shutout. The prior two instances the Rays followed up with victories. Wednesday they’ll have a golden opportunity to do so once again against Rangers pitcher Jon Gray. Gray has a home ERA of 6.35 and likely will have difficulty against a Rays team looking for a redemption game. Back the road Rays. 

The month of May was unkind to Giants pitcher Carlos Rodon. He went 1-4 overall, which included an 0-3 record on the road. Look for Rodon to turn the page and begin the month of June with a solid outing. Momentum is also on the Giants side after winning a thrilling extra inning game last night against the Phillies. Take the Giants to gain the road sweep.

After scoring eight runs in game one, the Twins are poised for more in game two against Joey Wentz. Wentz’s one outing this year was a disaster as he lasted just 2.2 innings. Yet, double headers are opportune times to find value. The Twin are also utilizing an inexperienced pitcher in Cole Sands. Take the Tigers to have their way with Sands and to hang on as home dogs. 

In the second game of the double header between the Cubs and Brewers we will back Milwaukee. In the first game the Brewers won 7-6, as both teams extended their bullpen arms. Look for Milwaukee to have the edge as they deliver Ashby his first win of the season. Take Milwaukee to take both games of the double header. 

A phenomenal story has transpired for the White Sox with pitcher Johnny Cueto. The 36 year old veteran has not surrendered a run in his first two outings. Yet, today will be his first home start of the season in a big spot against the Cubs. While Cueto’s numbers aren’t sustainable look for the White Sox bullpen to recover after a rough series against Boston. Grab the White Sox. 

Friday it appeared that the Atlanta Braves would squander a 3-0 lead. Starting pitcher Ian Anderson surrendered four runs and the Braves were lifeless at the plate. A great decision to pinch hit with Ronald Acuna Jr. turned the game around. Their bats should continue to deliver runs today against the Marlins bullpen. Take the Braves on the small number.

It’s been a rough start to the 2022 MLB season for Marlins pitcher Trevor Rogers. He has posted a 5.20 ERA thus far after making the All Star team a season ago. Friday, he will face divisional rival in the Atlanta Braves for a second consecutive start. With Rogers struggling look for the Braves to replicate last week’s three home runs off of Rogers. Take the Braves. 

The Tampa Rays will look to bounce back from Thursday’s 7-2 loss against the New York Yankees. On the mound will be pitcher Jeffrey Springs. This means the bullpen of the Rays will have high usage, which is always a scary proposition against the potent bats of the Yankees. Yet, last season the Rays went 2-0 in the regular season against Yankees pitcher Jameson Tailon, including a 9-1 home victory. Take the Rays. 

Tuesday, the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants played one of the craziest games of the MLB season. After allowing a big lead to disappear the Giants came back and won 13-12. For the Mets they’ve scored twenty five runs thus far in the series. Expect more runs today from the Mets, as they get the upper hand in a quick turn around spot.

Tuesday, the Chicago Cubs will aim to gain another road win over the Reds after defeating them 7-4 yesterday. On the mound for the Reds will be pitcher Tyler Mahle who has over performed in his last three starts. All three have been wins for the Reds as he has allowed two runs or less in each. Expect the hot hitting Cubs to snap that streak as they give Stroman much needed run support. Take the Cubs.

Friday night the Oakland As pulled off a victory over the Angels as heavy underdogs. Saturday, the price is on their side for another underdog victory. I’ll negate the current trend of As pitcher Frankie Montas who has not won a start since April 18th. We’ll take the As as Montas sees the Angels for the second time in a week. 

Twins rookie pitcher Joe Ryan has been stellar thus far with a 2.39 ERA. Inching closer to June is typically when rookie pitcher’s begin to experience trouble. For Ryan that may be compounded today as he is coming off season-high 103 pitches against the Cleveland Guardians. Take the Royals as they get revenge from Ryan’s six inning shutout at Kansas City on April 21st. 

In consecutive nights the Baltimore Orioles have won in walk off fashion via a home run. Momentum is now on their side as you could see the jubilation of their entire team in yesterday’s come from behind victory. Expect another wild game today against the Rays but for the Orioles to keep their hot bats going. Grab Baltimore.

The Minnesota Twins will get their second shot at Royals pitcher Daniel Lynch. On April 20th, Lynch and the Royal bullpen combined for a 2-0 shutout victory. That was last loss amidst a poor stretch for the Twins that they went 2-6. Expect an off day and seeing Lynch for the second time this year to bode to the advantage of the Twins. Take Minnesota. 

Thursday, the Baltimore Orioles ended a six game losing streak in a win over the New York Yankees. Friday, they’ll have a solid chance at gaining their first winning streak since May 10th. They’ll face a Tampa Bay Rays team that has lost the last three starts led off by pitcher Jalen Beeks. Take the home underdog value here with the Orioles. 

The Oakland As scoring woes have continued. Over their last five games they have scored one run or less in four. This has been a pattern in their games against the Twins this season. Minnesota has won all four with the As averaging 1.25 runs. Take the Twins who will find a way to override Dylan Bundy’s recent struggles.

The Chicago Cubs head into Tuesday’s matchup against the Pirates with a season best three game win streak. In Monday’s victory over the Pirates they won in shutout fashion 9-0. It’s the second time this season the Cubs walloped the Pirates as they defeated them 21-0 April 23rd. Yet, each shutout victory on the young season the Cubs have followed up with a loss. Take the value here on the Pirates.

After a rough start to the season, Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta is starting to show signs of turning the corner. His strikeouts are back up and ERA is settling back down. Today he’ll face an ever dangerous Braves team, but one that is coming in from a tough home series against the Padres. Take the Brewers to win game one.

The Arizona Diamondbacks may have one of the lowest attendance’s in MLB, but one that always gets a big series draw is against the Cubs. That’s because of how many Chicago transplants are in the valley of the sun. Thus far both games have been exciting. Sunday, expect another good game but for the Cubs to take advantage of the Diamondbacks bullpen, as Castellanos will only go 4-5 innings. Take the Cubs.

The Philadelphia Phillies have shocked the betting world with three straight big underdog wins over the LA Dodgers. Sunday, in a quick turn around the Dodgers will give rookie Michael Grove his first big league start. As hot as the Phillies bats have been look for a reversal here. Take the Dodgers to avoid being swept at home.

The Houston Astros have the best win streak in MLB at eleven games. Stout pitching has seen the Astros surrender an average of one run during the eleven game win streak. This includes today’s starter in Christian Javier whose ERA is just .083. Take the Astros to push their streak to twelve games.

After a prolonged losing streak the Cincinnati Reds have suddenly won five of their last six. The Pittsburgh Pirates have proved to be the right opponent as they defeated the Pirates in two of three games last week, and now have won both games to begin this series. With Luis Castillo’s second start of the season, expect the Pirates to take advantage of an early Reds bullpen. Play Pittsburgh. 

The LA Dodgers could be in for a vulnerable spot Thursday. They are traveling back from an East coast road trip, in which they lost two of three games against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Additionally, pitcher Tyler Anderson has not thrown past eighty pitches this season. In what will likely be a bullpen game, look for the Dodgers to spoil the effort of Phillies pitcher Zach Wheeler. Take the Dodgers.

Thursday, a great series is set to take place as the White Sox host the New York Yankees. Both teams come in red hot as each have won eight of their last ten games. Surprisingly during the White Sox recent stretch their wins have been by dominant pitching. All eight of their wins have come with four runs scored or less. Expect the bats to finally break out against Yankees inexperienced pitcher in Luis Gil.

One of the best values in MLB betting is fading a team coming off a no-hitter. That’s a colossal factor for Wednesday, as LA Angels pitcher Reid Detmers did so in a 12-0 win. Now megastar Shohei Ohtani will be on the mound for the Angels. Although LA has dominated with a 23-3 run advantage, look for Wednesday to be indicative of a game we expect from the Rays. Play Tampa Bay as they avoid the sweep.

The Arizona Diamondbacks come in red hot having won eight of their last ten. It’s a pattern of streakiness that has been a staple of the Diamondbacks in recent years. Tuesday is a great buy against spot as Madison Bumgarner has not shown the reliability to go beyond five innings. Take the Marlins who will get their first win out of five games against Arizona this season.

Tuesday, the Braves will host the Boston Red Sox after both teams enjoyed an off day Monday. The Red Sox come in having lost five straight games all at home. Look for the road element to benefit the Red Sox. Braves starting pitcher Kyle Wright may have a stout ERA at home, but he is coming off a season low in Ks and allowed nine hits. Take the underdog Red Sox.

In game two of today’s doubleheader we will side with the Orioles. After consecutive days of rain outs the Orioles did not show signs of rust in game one. At the plate they had double digit hits which did not correlate to high run efficiency. Expect that to change in the second matchup as the Royals subpar season continues. Take the Orioles.

Consecutive nights the Miami Marlins were trendy underdogs against the San Diego Padres. A failure to produce runs overrode Miami’s stellar pitching. In fact, the Marlins have lost five straight games by one run. Tonight, look for a correction as Miami should be able to hit Padres pitcher Sean Manaea. Play the Marlins.

An aberration of Chad Kuhl’s season for the Rockies has led Colorado to a 4-0 record when he starts.  Friday, they travel to take on NL West divisional opponent in the Arizona Diamondbacks whom had Thursday off. Expect the Diamondbacks to be refreshed after a two-series road trip, and to keep their hot hitting going. Play Arizona.

The San Diego Padres will face an interleague matchup Thursday between the Miami Marlins. This comes after the Padres played a double header Wednesday against the Cleveland Guardians. While the Padres may be sluggish at the plate to start, they’ll take advantage of a Marlins bullpen that has been disastrous lately. Take the Padres. 

Thursday, the Seattle Mariners are returning home from a lengthy nine game road trip. They’re coming off being swept by the Houston Astros and have dropped seven of their last eight. Look for the Rays to have the edge here as they saw Robbie Ray six times last season. He’s also had issues as of late avoiding a big inning. Take the Rays.

A recent rise in the level of the White Sox pitching has led to wins in three of their last four games. Wednesday, Lucas Giolito will have his turn to keep the momentum going. Expect the White Sox to finally support their main ace, as Giolito has failed to register a win in his first three starts of the season. Take the White Sox to inch closer to .500.

Mike Clevinger has had possibly the most topsy turvy week of anyone in MLB. Just last week before his last tune up game, his flight from Phoenix to El Paso nearly crashed. Here he is now ready to make his MLB season debut after missing last year due to Tommy John. Look for Cleveland to come back down to Earth as the Padres play a spirited game. Take San Diego. 

Anticipating a lot of runs Tuesday will be in play with two struggling pitchers in Erick Fedde and German Marquez. For Marquez he has been in a decline since earning last year’s All Star game. In three straight starts this year he has allowed four runs. Take the underdog Nationals who should feast once again on Marquez.

Tuesday, the LA Angels may have the most difficult spot on the entire slate. Monday, they lost 3-0 to the Chicago White Sox, and now will face a rested Red Sox team. After just two hits yesterday the Angels will need their new ace Noah Syndergaard to deliver once again. Grab the Angels as the Red Sox early season struggles continue.

The Cincinnati Reds 3-17 start to the season can’t get any worse. For the first time this season I will step in the fray with a selection on one of their games. They’ll face a familiar arm in former NL Central Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Chad Kuhl. Expect Kuhl’s superb start to the season to fade back to the Kuhl we’ve been accustomed to seeing the last several years. Take the Reds.

Late money line movement Friday proved to be correct on the Miami Marlins. All eight of their runs came in the first three innings against the Mariners, leading to an 8 to 6 victory. The fact that the Marlins could not score another run against two bullpen pitchers getting their first big league action is troubling. Look for the Mariners to get back on track today and end the Marlins six game win streak.

On paper today’s game for the Mariners at Miami screams a trap spot. Seattle is coming off a tough series against the Rays, and jumps right back into a new series. Yet, I believe the Mariners can rejuvenate their bats at the plate against the Marlins. Take Seattle as they get the runs to back up pitcher Matt Brash.

After coming close in the first two games of the series to toppling the Blue Jays, the Red Sox finally broke through in a big way for a 7-1 victory Wednesday. As great as Alek Manoah has been his price is far too steep here based on an incredible run. Dating back to last season the Blue Jays have won fourteen of the last fifteen times Manoah has pitched. Take the Red Sox to end that streak.

Wednesday the Astros will attempt to win consecutive games for the first time since April 12th. On the mound will be Christian Javier who has not went beyond four innings in each of his first three starts. Additionally, the Astros lost all three of those games. That’s a value angle on a price that’s dropped steadily from the -125 to -130 range. Take the Astros as they hit Glenn Otto hard with 7 hits and 7 runs in a 12-1 victory last season.

Tuesday, the Mariners used an explosive fourth inning of seven runs to pull away from the Rays. The win marked the Mariners fourth straight and 7th win in their last eight. Wednesday though I expect a come down to Earth game for the Mariners in terms of their run production. They’ve averaged over 6.5 runs over the last eight games. Take the Rays to bounce back and defeat Seattle.  

Leaving a big market in Boston for a big pay day with Detroit has not begun well for Eduardo Rodriguez. Tuesday, he will be on the road to face a Minnesota Twins team that has caught fire in winning four straight games. In each of Twins starting pitcher Chris Paddock’s first two starts the Twins were shutout. After an off day Monday, expect the Twins lineup to be ready to deliver. Play the Twins.

The Seattle Mariners fought through a team Covid issue thanks to a three series home stand. The Mariners won all three series with a combined record of 7-2. After an off day for both the Rays and Mariners this could be a let down spot for the home team. Back the Mariners who should get another strong effort from pitcher Logan Gilbert.

 Monday, the LA Angels will continue their home stand as they face the Cleveland Guardians. For Guardians pitcher Shane Bieber this is a homecoming as he grew up just miles down the road from Anaheim. In normal circumstances this would be a strong Bieber spot, as he has dominated the Angels with a 3-0 life time record. Yet, Cleveland is flying in from losing three straight to the Yankees. Grab the Angels as slight home favorites.

Sunday, the Houston Astros needed an extra inning two-run homer to avoid a five game losing streak. It’s not a surprise that the Astros struggles have occurred with Jose Altuve out on the ten day injured list. The Texas Rangers may be 5-10, but they have won three of their last four. Returning home from a two series road trip, grab the Rangers as home underdogs. Play Texas. 

One of the market shockers yesterday was the rising road price of the Dodgers. The Padres ended up walking off in extra innings and delivered a 3 to 2 victory. Sunday, the price is quite a bit higher but worth it as the Dodgers will be able to counter the Padres stout 6-3 home record. Take LA on the money line not run-line as this could be a one run game. 

Friday, the Blue Jays erased a 3-0 deficit to comeback and defeat the Houston Astros 4-3. The victory marked their third win in a row to boost their record to 9-5. Additionally the Blue Jays will have former Astro George Springer in the lineup. After two days rest expect Springer to be motivated against his ex team. Grab the Blue Jays.

Saturday, an interesting trend lies with the Oakland As. Each of their last four losses have been followed up by a win. This should hold true today against the Texas Rangers and their starting pitcher Martin Perez. Perez has not shown any sustainability with two quick outings to begin the year. Back the As. 

The Mariners disappointed bettors last night after squandering a 5-0 lead to the Texas Rangers. A team outbreak of Covid-19 was expected to derail them sooner or later. Yet, Friday look for a bounce back spot as Royals pitcher Brad Keller will test his arm on the road for the first time this season. A season ago he had a road ERA of 5.03. Back the Mariners.

Thursday, the Miami Marlins have a chance to catch a St. Louis Cardinals team playing their seventh straight road game. Lacking offense at the plate the Marlins will need an uplift as they’ve scored just one run Tuesday and Wednesday against the Cardinals. Pitcher Pablo Lopez strong start with a .087 ERA has led to two of the Marlins four wins. Back the Marlins.

Wednesday, the Chicago Cubs and Tampa Bay Rays meet for the final game of their three game series. Thus far the Cubs have eased the work load of new pitcher Marcus Stroman. In both of his first two starts he has not gone past eighty pitches, and the Cubs lost both games. Today, look for the home Cubs to get past Stroman’s light work load, as they continue to score runs on the Rays bullpen. Take the Cubs.  

Monday, Toronto enjoyed an off day and now will travel to face division rivals in the Boston Red Sox. Underdogs, the Blue Jays will need to produce runs as pitcher Yusei Kikuchi lasted just 3.1 innings in his Blue Jays debut. Experience against fifth year Red Sox pitcher Nathan Eovaldi should pay dividends. In each of his first two starts this season Eovaldi has given up multi home run games. Monday’s postponement hit several MLB matchups back East. This included an opening series that was set between the Diamondbacks and Nationals. This created a situation Tuesday where the Diamondbacks will have to use an inexperienced pitcher for game two of their double header in Tyler Gilbert. He may have his issues but the Nationals Joan Adon has already proven to be unreliable. Take the Diamondbacks as small underdogs in the second matchup. 

Friday, a new three game series begins between the White Sox and Tampa Bay Rays.  This is a chance for White Sox pitcher Dylan Cease to shake off consistency issues that plagued him in 2021.  With the Rays coming right off a home series look for the travel and current two game losing streak to effect them. Coming into the season it was expected for the Mariners to take a dip from last season’s 90-72 finish. It’s also never easy to begin the year with two road series as the Mariners have. In five games Seattle’s has mustered an average of just 2.4 runs. Yet, they’ll be able to lean on ace Robbie Ray today and will have chances at the plate against veteran Dallas Keuchel. Take the Mariners as slight road underdogs. 

Monday night the Giants squandered early run scoring opportunities. It came back to haunt them as the Padres delivered clutch hits to pull out the victory 4-2. It marked the third straight game where the Giants scored three runs or less. Yet, a home friendly schedule to begin the season should benefit the home Giants. Grab them to even the series against the Padres.

Unheralded detours in professional sports bring uncertainty to the sports betting market. Tonight, pitcher Nick Martinez of the Padres will be making his first start since 2017. The milestone won’t be easy against the Giants, but look for the Padres to get the necessary run support to cash as underdogs. Play the Padres 

Out the gate Zach Plesac has shown to be a reliable pitcher. Last season he started the year with six strong innings and two runs allowed, and followed that up with a seven inning shutout performance. Although Brad Keller of the Royals was stout at home a year ago, this is a great spot to back the Guardians to cash as small road dogs. Back Cleveland. 

This evening the LA Angels will host the Houston Astros in the second-game of their AL West series. Thursday, was a low-scoring affair with the Astros coming out top 3-1. That should carry over to tonight at least for the first 4-5 innings. This should be a bullpen game with Jake Odorizzi and Reid Detmers inability to extend. Take the Angels to deliver clutch hits in the latter innings and even the series. 

Robbie Ray’s 2021 season surprised everyone. The veteran pitcher had far and away his best season in the big leagues and delivered a 2.84 ERA. No longer with the Toronto Blue Jays and their potent run scoring, it’ll be interesting to see how Ray holds up. Out the gate take the Twins who should be a motivated team after last year’s disappointing last place finish in the AL Central. 

It’s no secret that the Washington Nationals starting pitcher Patrick Corbin had immense struggles at home last season. This should bode to the advantage of the New York Mets the second and third times at the plate. Additionally, expect Mets pitcher Tylor Megill to withstand from letting the game get away. Back the Mets who are use to dealing with issues with their main starting pitchers, as Buck Showalter gets his first win as a Met.

The Toronto Blue Jays are the hottest team in baseball with seven straight wins. Their surge has put them in a viable position to gain a wild card spot. Yet, look for the Yankees to prevent a home sweep as Jose Berrios is coming off his heaviest pitch count in his last nine starts. Grab the Yankees. 

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Vladimir Gutierrez will face the Chicago Cubs for the fourth time this season. Containing the Cubs at the plate has been a constant as the Cubs have been held to two runs or less each start by Gutierrez. After consecutive rough outings look for Gutierrez to settle back in today. Play the Reds. 

It’s the final month of the MLB regular season and Diamondbacks pitcher Zac Gallen has yet to win a home start. 0-6 on the year the Diamondbacks enter Tuesday as big favorites against the Texas Rangers. This should be an opportune spot for Gallen and the Diamondbacks considering the Rangers have won consecutive road games. Back the Diamondbacks as the Rangers get back to their true road form. 

The strongest win on the diamond Monday came with the Phillies 12-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. For the Brewers the loss was their second worst all season in terms of run differential. Look for Aaron Nola to bounce back from a couple of shaky outings, as the Brewers lose for the fourth time in six games. Take the Phillies.

Tonight the LA Angels have a chance to get to .500 thanks to winning four of their last five games. Although Rangers pitcher Kolby Allard increased his performance last month, he still only registered one win. With the Rangers road struggles with a 16-50 record grab the Angels to notch a win and get to .500. 

The San Diego Padres free fall has extended into the month of September. A multitude of issues have resulted in the Padres going 5-15 since August 11th. Today’s starting pitcher in Joe Musgrove will try and follow up on a complete game shutout his last outing. Earlier in the season he followed up a complete game with his shortest outing of the season with four innings. Back the Astros. 

The Seattle Mariners took care of the Diamondbacks in extra innings Friday. The win marked their third straight victory but that still has not changed their slim playoff chances. Furthermore, when on a three-game winning streak the Mariners have lost the fourth game three straight times. Grab the Diamondbacks.
