A familiar matchup will take place tonight as the A’s and Angels meet for their third series. The Angels may have the second worst record in the AL at 8-18, but they’ve had success against A’s pitcher Mike Fiers. On August 11th, the Angels hit three home runs against Fiers. Fiers issues will continue and put pressure on the A’s bullpen early. Grab the Angels.

Friday, two of the top seven pitchers in the NL will face off as the Braves host the Phillies. Braves pitcher Max Fried dominated the Phillies on August 9th shutting them out in five innings of work. Yet, in 2019 he struggled against the Phillies giving up four runs or more in three starts. Grab the Phillies to continue their hot hitting and put pressure on Fried’s dominant start to the season.

The Minnesota Twins have yet to lose consecutive home games. That will be tested Thursday as the Brewers are coming off a season-high nine runs Wednesday evening. Twins pitcher Jose Berrios has struggled with walks and hits that has led to a 5.92 ERA. Look for Berrios to get out of jams and for the Twins to utilize their bullpen early. Grab Minnesota.  

The Diamondbacks earned their sixth straight victory Tuesday, 10-1 over the Oakland A’s. That was Arizona’s most lopsided win of the season. For Oakland it ended a three-series mini road trip of eight games against the Angels, Giants, and Diamondbacks. Returning home look for the A’s to regroup against the Diamondbacks pitching staff. Grab Oakland. 

Wednesday, the Reds will aim to get their star ace pitcher Luis Castillo his first win of the season. Late inning runs surrendered by the Reds bullpen last Tuesday took away a win for Castillo against today’s opponent in the Royals. With a condensed game of seven innings look for Castillo to pitch a strong six innings and get the win. Grab the Reds.

Rays pitcher Blake Snell has not thrown more than seventy pitches in four starts this season. This included an August 7th matchup against the Yankees in which he threw just fifty-nine pitches. Yet, the strength of the Rays bullpen proceeded to shutout the Yankees. Don’t expect perfection Tuesday but look for the Rays to keep Tanaka winless.

 An opening series value spot lies tonight as the Diamondbacks face an Oakland A’s team that has the best win percentage in MLB. Timely runs and hot bats have helped spark the Diamondbacks to .500. Look for a continuation of opportune innings in key spots from the Diamondbacks. Grab Arizona to build to a five-game win streak.

Heading into Sunday’s matchup, the Padres have lost consecutive outings against the Diamondbacks. The hot hitting Diamondbacks have scored an average of eight runs over their last three games. Still the struggles of Sunday’s starter Robbie Ray should be enough to propel the Padres to a Sunday victory. Grab the Padres. 

Thursday, the Pirates used nine runs in the first two innings to build an insurmountable lead over the Reds. Extended bullpen use by both teams will be a factor heading into Friday’s second matchup. Yet, look for the Pirates to get another victory as the Reds continue to falter against pre-season expectations. 

Friday, the Marlins return home for their first home game of the season. At 8-4, their record amidst chaos and heavy personnel changes is remarkable. Yet, look for the Braves to get after Marlins pitcher Pablo Lopez. Lopez’s ERA of 1.80 has not been tested due to short outings of five innings each in his first two starts.  Grab the Braves to continue their dominance of the past three seasons in the NL East. 

The Cubs displayed no rust Tuesday against the Indians after a prior series postponement against the St. Louis Cardinals. At 11-3, they have the best win percentage in MLB. Their bullpen should be tested Wednesday in what figures to be a great dual between Kyle Hendricks and Carlos Carrasco. Side with the home team bullpen edge of the Indians. 

In consecutive days the Oakland A’s have lost against the LA Angels. On Tuesday night they failed to score a run for the first time all season. Expect the A’s to ride their starting pitcher Chris Bassitt Wednesday, as he has won his last three starts against the Angels. Grab Oakland.

Heavy duty is expected once again tonight from the Rays bullpen. They’ll begin things with pitcher Andrew Kittredge whom has pitched more than an inning just once this season. Even if Martin Perez can handle a solid 5-6 innings, look for the Rays to come back similar to Monday’s victory. Grab the Rays. 

Monday, the Tampa Bay Rays will get a dose of their own medicine from the Boston Red Sox. They’ll use reliever Ryan Brasier to start the game. Although Brasier lacks quality stats (9.00 ERA) it’s the Rays that have a more severe issue. They’re 0-5 on the road, in which they’ve averaged just over three runs per game. Grab the Red Sox here to put the Rays to 0-6 on the road.

The Oakland A’s will be attempting to win their ninth straight Sunday. Their stout pitching has been the reason for gaining the first two games against the Houston Astros. Residual affects from a Friday extra inning game carried over into Saturday for the A’s. Yet look for Houston to finally break their funk. They’ll get this one and end the A’s winning streak.

A late call up means that the Rockies will have a first time starter Saturday in pitcher Ryan Castellani. Castellani has struggled in triple AAA but can ride the team wave of the Rockies. Colorado is 10-3 including a stout 5-1 on the road. Look for the Mariner’s woes to continue as the Rockies secure this victory. 

The Yankees have dropped two of three games as they head into a new series Friday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Neither of Friday’s starter’s in Blake Snell and Masahiro Tanaka have not pitched beyond three innings this season. Expect the travel factor to hinder the Yankees as the Rays build on their 5-2 home record.

The Marlin’s returned back to action Tuesday and delivered a shutout 4-0 win over the Orioles. Wednesday, they’ll have a chance to build upon that win against Orioles starter Alex Cobb. Cobb’s pitch count in his first two starts of 78 and 87 pitches, kept him from extending beyond the fifth inning. Grab the Marlins to capitalize as a small underdog.

A small sample size of ten games has ballooned issues at the plate for the Arizona Diamondbacks. They’ve struggled offensively and rank last in MLB with just two home runs. They’re also one of four teams batting below .200. Instead of writing off the Diamondbacks will back them as a home underdog against the inexperienced Astros pitcher in Cristian Javier. 

Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Rays return home after losing five straight road games to drop to 4-6. Expect their run production to regenerate as they’ve averaged 6.6 runs at Tropicana Field. Timely double plays in his first two starts have bailed out Red Sox pitcher Nathan Eovaldi and benefitted his ERA. That fortune runs out today. Grab the Rays. 

Monday, the Mets couldn’t ask for a better ace than Jacob Degrom to end their five-game losing streak. Degrom has allowed two runs or less in nine of his last eleven starts against the Braves. Facing Mike Soroka for the second time in ten days, expect the Mets bats to come to life. 

The Rangers are once again a close underdog in terms of the betting market for Sunday. Saturday two early runs could not keep the Rangers from avoiding a 2-5 start. Sunday, expect things to change as San Francisco has had a tough time mustering consecutive wins. Grab the Rangers.

Friday, the Twins offense did enough early damage against Mike Clevinger to hold off the Indians. Saturday, expect a similar game as Carlos Carrasco was sharp in his debut against the Royals. The upper hand here lies with the Twins pen which has been excellent to start the season. Grab Minnesota. 

An implosion Friday night cost the Mets one of the biggest leads to be blown on the season. They’ve now dropped three in a row. Look for issues to linger as the Braves continue to pound the Mets staff. Grab Atlanta. 

The Indians Mike Clevinger has had strong success against the Minnesota Twins. Clevinger never gave up more than two runs in each of his four starts against the Twins in 2019. A high strikeout rate complimented those outings as he averaged eight a game against the Twins. Lay the small road price here on the Indians. 

Defeating the Dodgers in consecutive games has not deterred oddsmakers perception Tuesday of the San Francisco Giants. San Diego’s starting pitching has allowed two runs or less in each game this season. Struggles at the plate for San Francisco has featured three runs or less in three of their first four games. Take the Padres. 

Tuesday, the White Sox and Indians will partake in an AL Central double-header. In the second matchup look for the slight underdog in the White Sox to prevail. Starting pitcher Carlos Rodon’s lowest ERA in the past two season’s came at Cleveland, April 3rd, 2019 (1.59 ERA). Back the White Sox. 

Monday’s series opener for the Braves against the Rays quickly got out of hand to the tune of a 14-5 loss. Yet look for the Braves hot bats to propel them Tuesday as they’ve averaged eight runs in their last three games. In their fifth straight road game grab Atlanta as a Tuesday value selection. 

Monday, the defending World Series Champions in the Washington Nationals will hope to get back to .500. They’ll host a Toronto Blue Jays team that continues their road travels. Look for the travel factor and lack of a home stadium to be a value edge Monday for the Blue Jays. 

A bullpen meltdown from the Mets Saturday could be a lingering issue into Sunday. Yet I expect this Mets team to regroup and showcase some offense. Braves pitcher Sean Newcomb has had his issues extending into games. Look for Rick Porcello to showcase a solid start out the gate in his debut as a Met.

Continued value lies with the LA Angel’s Sunday as they close out their series against the Oakland A’s. Shohei Ohtani will pitch for the Angel’s for the first time in over a year. Do expect rust but also look for the A’s lineup that has struggled aside from late inning runs. Grab the Angels. 

In extra innings last night the Angels fell short against the A’s 7-3. Saturday, look for Mike Trout to spark the Angel’s offense against A’s pitcher Sean Manaea. In five career games against Manaea, Trout has batted .333 with two home runs and a triple.  A quick turn around of less than fifteen hours will give the Angels an extra edge in redemption of Friday’s loss. Take the Angels. 

Saturday expect strong run support from the Braves for starting pitcher Max Fried.  Atlanta’s average runs scored the following game after a shutout in 2019 was 6.4. Expect that trend to continue into 2020 as the Braves answer in a big way. Grab Atlanta

The last game on tonight’s MLB slate features an AL West matchup between the Angels and As. Limited starts from As pitcher Frankie Montas has not deterred a strong resume against the LA Angels. He won three of his sixteen starts last season against the Angels, including opening day in which he allowed just one run. Grab the As. 

Capturing game six in the manner the Nationals did has elevated them for game seven. By fortune of Mad Max missing game five they’ll have the ace they want on the mound for game seven. They’ll also have the luxury of using Anibal Sanchez and Patrick Corbin out of the bullpen. Look for the theme of the road team winning every game to continue as the Nationals win the MLB pennant.

The Astros have turned things around with a three-game road sweep against the Nationals. Now back at home they’ll look to correct their issues in games one and two. Expect Justin Verlander to be much sharper and for the bats of the Astros to continue to pile up hits. The Astros get the win and win another MLB pennant. Grab Houston. 

No one expected the Astros to be down two games to nothing as they head into game three. All season long aces Gerrit Cole and Justin Verlander took care of business. Now the series is in the Nationals hands as they ride a seven game win streak. Look for the Astros to get the value of their mid-season deadline trade for Greinke Friday, as the Astros respond in a big way. Play Houston. 

Celebration is in the air in Washington DC as the Nationals pushed forward Monday night to push the series to 3-0. Tuesday they have a chance to close out the series with the Cardinals hope waning. Yet expect this Cardinals team to finally break out of their series slump at the plate. Two runs in three games is not how the Cardinals will conclude their season. Grab St. Louis Tuesday. 

The Houston Astros fought off being down 0-2 with a tenacious effort. With new life they still need to re-gain a game to get ahead on the Yankees. Expect that to happen on Tuesday as ace Gerrit Cole aims to continue his excellent season. In two post-season starts Cole has worked a high amount of pitches against the Rays. Even if Cole does not have his top stuff expect the Astros bullpen to get the upper hand over the Yankees once again. Grab Houston.

The Nationals have now won four games in a row. Up 2-0 on the Cardinals they know Monday they’ll get the best challenge from the Cardinals. In a must win game the Cardinals will lean on dominate ace Jack Flaherty. Flaherty has allowed three runs or less in eighteen straight starts. Yet look for the Nationals to continue to figure out a way to win and go up 3-0 on the Nationals. Play Washington. 

The Yankees came out in game one Saturday and made a big statement over the Astros. A dominate 7-0 victory has quickly flipped the advantage to the Yankees. Sunday expect Astros ace Justin Verlander to get the series back to even, as the Astros do not fall down 2-0.

The Washington Nationals are on unforeseen extended time thanks to comeback wild card and game five wins. They’ll face a St. Louis Cardinals team that showcased hot bats in their own game five colossal win over the Braves. St. Louis’s home dominance this year is certainly a factor but expect the Nationals to continue to feed off being in tough spots. Grab Washington in game one. 

The Yankees dominance this season has set the stage for a post-season everyone expects to land them in the World Series. What they did in the regular season was stellar but the Twins aren’t going to bow down in this series. They also won over 100 games and have the streaky bats to give the Yankees trouble. James Paxton of the Yankees comes in having won ten straight starts. Look for that to come to a halt as the Twins pull off a game one shocker. 

Two of the hottest teams in baseball to conclude the second half of the year were the Cardinals and Braves. Atlanta’s mix of youth at the plate and pitching grew exponentially when Dallas Keuchel arrived. Keuchel has the experience as an Astro and World Series winner to push the Braves far. Yet the Cardinals magic to win on the road and confidence is a key in game one. Keuchel may have finished the year with electric numbers but look for the Cardinals to eek this one out. Grab St. Louis. 

The surge for the As and Rays to reach the post-season has been incredible. Either teams that win Wednesday can potentially be a dark horse to get the World Series. In a one-game format the Rays will lean on ace Charlie Morton. Morton has been fantastic this year against the As in 13 innings of work. Overall he has allowed just six hits and one run. As strong as the As have been at home look for the Rays to pull off the win. 

Out in the NL West the Arizona Diamondbacks will host the Padres Friday night. After a long stretch pitching out of the bullpen the Diamondbacks will utilize former starter Taylor Clarke. Prior Clarke struggled as a starter with major failures to pitch multiple innings without self destruction. Yet look for the Padres tough home series against the Dodgers to linger over Friday. Grab the Diamondbacks

The Nationals took advantage of a Tuesday double-header to take care of business against the Phillies. Into the sixth inning of Tuesday’s double-header the Nationals trailed 4-1. That changed with a grand slam from Tree Turner to catapult the Nationals to victory. Grab Washington to sweep the Phillies on Wednesday as the Phillies have quickly faded having lost six of seven games.

Tuesday the Milwaukee Brewers find themselves underdogs against the Cincinnati Reds. Sonny Gray on the year has been stellar for the Reds boasting a stellar 2.80 ERA. He has also allowed three runs or less in nine straight starts. With the Brewers firmly entrenched in securing a wild card spot don’t expect them to relent to close the season. Grab the Brewers as Adrian Houser ends a five-game run without a win. 

Veteran Garrett Richards did not show much in his season debut on September 16th. The Padres pitcher threw just 3.2 innings while giving up three runs. He’ll face a Diamondbacks team that’s slim playoff hopes have been extended thanks to a three-game win streak. Look for the Padres to halt their losing temporary as nine of ten losses has put value on them for Sunday. Grab San Diego 

Friday night the Texas Rangers and Oakland As meet for the second time in a week. Once again Mike Minor will be on the mound opposed As starter Mike Fiers. Fiers had left that start after just 1 2/3 innings due to arm irritation. Meanwhile Mike Minor who was an AL Cy Young favorite at the All-Star break has dropped off considerably. Look for value on the As to get after Minor as they did last week when they hit three home runs. Grab Oakland. 

Suddenly the Atlanta Braves have dropped three straight games. More shocking is two straight losses at home against the Philadelphia Phillies. It’s only the second time since May 29th that the Braves have lost consecutive games at home. Veterans Dallas Keuchel and Julio Teheran had their issues in Tuesday and Wednesday’s matchup. Yet look for the young arm in Mike Soroka to get things back on track for the Braves. Grab Atlanta.

The Philadelphia Phillies toppled the Braves Tuesday ending Dallas Keuchels stout stretch. It wasn’t easy as the Braves nearly pulled off a comeback win. Now the Braves have lost two games in a row. Since May 28th the Braves have lost consecutive home games just once. Look for the Phillies to come through as they did against Julio Teheran his last week. Grab the Phillies

The Mariners travel into Pittsburgh after both teams had Monday off. Seattle hopes not to replicate their prior road trip that concluded with six straight losses. That stretch put the Mariners in the bottom portion of MLB for road wins as they stand at 29-46. This should be a much more formidable spot as the Mariners come in with hot bats and should have no problems against Mitch Keller. Grab Seattle.

Monday, the St. Louis Cardinals find themselves as a rare home underdog against the Washington Nationals. Pitcher Stephen Strasburg of the Nationals has been electric with just two losses since June 21st. That puts him at number one in MLB in the NL in terms of wins. Yet look for the St. Louis Cardinals strong home advantage to pay dividends tonight. Grab St. Louis.

               Saturday the Mets shutout the LA Dodgers 3-0. The rare shutout to the Dodgers offense certainly can be attributed to an extended east coast road trip. Sunday marks their sixth straight on the road and will be in the featured Sunday night spot. While runs may still be an issue for the Dodgers look for Walker Buehler to continue to build upon a great season.

Losers of three straight the Diamondbacks have slipped a bit in the NL wild card chase. The pitching has been there for the Diamondbacks as they’ve allowed four runs or less in all the losses. It’s at the plate they’ve failed. Look for a third opportunity against the Mets bullpen to finally pay off. Grab the Diamondbacks. 

Tuesday, the Tampa Bay Rays will aim to extend their impressive road record of 43-27. They’ll take on a Texas Rangers team that’s struggled to maintain a near .500 record post All-Star break. Pitcher Lance Lynn has also seen his once AL leading record dip to 14-10 overall. Grab the Rays here as they continue to be a road cashing juggernaut.  

All of the sudden the Arizona Diamondbacks have put themselves in closing distance for the final NL wild card. They’ve closed the distance in the race thanks to wins in eight of their last nine games. Boosting their value occurred with three of four wins against the Dodgers and handling the Padres Monday and Tuesday. Look for a reversal as the Padres carry over a near rally Tuesday night into Wednesday. Grab San Diego.

The Minnesota Twins continue to surge forward and increase their division lead over the Cleveland Indians. Winners of nine of their last ten games has featured a majority of wins on the road. Returning from an eight-game west coast road trip did not pay off in game one for the Red Sox against the Twins. Wednesday expect a similar result even with Eduardo Rodriguez’s dominant 16-5 record for the Red Sox. Grab the red-hot Twins. 

The Washington Nationals have done a stellar job easing their ace Max Scherzer back into the rotation. All three starts since returning from the DL have featured five innings or less of work. Minimal work bettors are unaccustomed to seeing from Scherzer. Expect things to escalate in his fourth start as the Nationals bounce back from Monday’s loss to the Mets. 

Sunday,  for the third time in his career pitcher Justin Verlander threw a no-hitter. Now the Astros must regroup from their jubilation for Verlander and travel to take on the Milwaukee Brewers.  The home team Brewers are at a crucial juncture of their season as they hope to make a final run for a wild card spot. With Adrian Houser's  early departure in his last start due to a hip issue there may be concerns on his durability. Yet look for the Brewers to finally snap Gerrit Cole's stretch without a loss that dates back to late May. Grab Milwaukee  

The LA Dodgers venture on the road Thursday for a second consecutive series against a division rival. They’ll meet the Arizona Diamondbacks who have had success at home against the Dodgers this season as steep underdogs. Don’t look for that to be the case Thursday as Hyun Jin Ryu has dominated the Diamondbacks in multiple starts this season. Furthermore he has not allowed a run to the Diamondbacks. Look for that success to continue Thursday 

The New York Mets home-stand has suddenly melted. They’ve now lost four straight games after a long standing home win streak that saw the Mets sweep the Indians. Suddenly the Mets bats have cooled off as in four of their last five games they’ve scored two runs or less. This is a Cubs team that’s been plagued on the road all season yet expect them to push through and keep the Mets reeling. 

A continual theme at home or away are the LA Dodgers being heavy favorites. That does not wane Tuesday as the Dodgers are only a few dollars off from being the heaviest favorite on the card. The Dodgers have had a couple of let down spots in recent series against the Yankees and Braves. Yet don’t expect for the Dodgers to fall to the level of their competition in the Padres on Tuesday. Grab LA in the night cap spot. 

Monday one of the worst line moves of the day happened between the Brewers and Cardinals. An extra day of rest for the Brewers from Thursday boosted the line. That’s a value attraction for Tuesday as the St. Louis Cardinals went fifteen days without an off day. Winners of five straight and eight of nine games look for the Brewers to halt the Cardinals momentum.

The season for the Indians started with key injuries and once again the Indians are struggling in that department. Tuesday, they’ll be minus Jose Ramirez as they try and recover from a 9-8 loss against the Royals. Detrot’s dismal season has been a whirlwind for Tuesday’s starter in Spencer Turnbull. He has not registered a win since May 31st and is 0-4 against the Indians this season. Look for a reversal as Turnbull gets plenty of run support. Grab Detroit.

Momentum for the Milwaukee Brewers on a three game road win streak came to a halt Sunday against the Diamondbacks. Monday they’ll return home to face a St Louis Cardinals team they just met last week. In that outing Gio Gonzalez inability to last beyond five innings hurt the Brewers pen. With St Louis dialed in at the plate expect another high run performance similar to last weeks matchup. 

The Yankees find themselves as a big underdog Sunday as they take on the LA Dodgers. Road fatigue and the season long advantage of the Dodgers at home are severely priced into Sunday’s line. Factor in Domingo Germans poor last start against the As and there is reason to believe the favored price. Yet look for the Yankees to be up for the challenge and attack the Dodgers bullpen. Grab the Yankees 

The Oakland As have taken advantage of their home stand having won six of seven against top teams in the Yankees and Astros. Saturday they’re getting a reduced price offering based on the short trek of the San Francisco Giants to Oakland. Another variable is that Madison Bumgarner has the benefit of having pitched and won against the As on August 13th. Because of the short two-game series Chris Bassitt did not pitch. Ride the As here as Bumgarner has shown to be a predictable streaky pitcher.  Look for a follow up poor outing off his first loss in two months his prior start.

Thursday value can be had on the under between the Rangers and White Sox. Rangers have struggled all season on the road. In fact only the Royals, Orioles, and Tigers have worst road records in the American League this season. Run production dips for the Rangers on the road as was evident in their last road trip. Rangers pitcher Ariel Jurado has had consecutive outings of allowing high runs in short innings of duty. Expect him to settle in a bit better tonight and for the under to hit here.

Wednesday the Oakland As will look to take advantage of the Yankees as they did on Tuesday. Holding the Yankees in check at the plate is a tough task to accomplish in consecutive nights. Mike Fiers of the As will hope to uphold the challenge as he has the stout winning record on the season at 11-3. Expect Fiers to do enough as the As put pressure on the Yankees JA Happ early and often. Grab the As Wednesday night.

Monday the Angels will attempt to have success on the road against the Rangers as they did in early July. In that series they won two of three and were sparked with games of nine and six runs. High runs may not be on the agenda for Monday as they’ll be facing Kolby Allard for the first time. As great as the Rangers have been at home they’ve shown to be susceptible to teams within their division. Grab the Angels

The Baltimore Orioles are coming off a heart breaking loss Sunday against the Boston Red Sox. Up 6-0 the Orioles unraveled in a fashion that has been seen countless times during a horrible season. Factored into Monday’s price is the Orioles having lost seven straight games and twelve of their last thirteen. Pitcher John Means has also not lasted into the fourth inning in three straight starts. Yet look for this Orioles team to show some pride after yesterday’s meltdown and get the win. Grab Baltimore.

Monday, the Washington Nationals head into Pittsburgh having won six of their last seven games. In their last two games against the Milwaukee Brewers they scored a whopping thirty runs. Potent bats combined with Joe Ross earning three straight wins have priced the Nationals incorrectly. Look for Pittsburgh to have prime time carry over value off of last night’s loss to the Cubs. Grab Pittsburgh

The Cubs averted another potential loss Saturday thanks to starting pitcher Jon Lester getting out of several jams. Their road woes and injuries to their bullpen have made them a cheaper road favorite Sunday. Coupled with their bats struggling this may be a trendy spot to secure the underdog. Instead look for the Cubs to battle as they did Saturday and get another strong performance from Jose Quintana.

One of the early afternoon games that figure to be one of the leaders for action bets Sunday is the Diamondbacks and Giants. For the Giants things could not be better from their ace Madison Bumgarner. Over his last ten starts he has allowed three runs or less in eight. That’s a value indicator for a current betting market Sunday opposed to Merrill Kelly’s recent stretch of allowing eight home runs his last four starts. The Diamondbacks have shown how quickly a team can fade when being sellers at the deadline, yet this is a worthy priced home underdog spot. Grab Arizona.   

The Washington Nationals momentum has featured a string of wins. Sunday they’ll aim to get the upper hand by leaning on their dominant home edge. In order to get the victory Sunday the Brewers will need to rely on starting pitcher Chase Anderson. Anderson has struggled with lasting beyond five innings which has been a burden for the Brewers bullpen. In his last start Josh Hader gave up a three-run bomb to cost the Brewers late against the Rangers. The highest total Saturday outside of Coors Field comes between the Rangers and Twins.  Minnesota has been one of the best teams post All-Star break to capture overs on totals for.  That’s been due to a bullpen that’s been highly susceptible and being third in MLB for run production. Add in the fact that both Jose Berrios and Ariel Jurado have been shaky and the recipe for another over is in line. Berrios gave up a season high nine runs two starts ago and Jurado is coming off a 3.1 inning performance in which he gave up eight runs.  A high total as such you can get away with one explosive half inning and still prevail. One of Thursday’s Night Cap games comes between the White Sox and Angels. Chicago is coming off a series against the Astros in which they won two of three. In fact Tuesday they played a double header because of Monday’s rain delay. Factor in travel and Reynaldo Lopez’s six game streak of allowing three runs or less and value seems to be on the under. That is one of the reasons the line moved down immediately on the total. Yet look for both teams to hit well and for this total to hit over

Easing back into starter duties has been Cubs pitcher Cole Hamels. In two starts since returning from the injured list Hamels has pitched short outings of less than five innings. Both games the Cubs won by leaning on their bullpen arms. Wednesday expect Phillies pitcher Aaron Nola to bounce back from his last start and the Phillies to pick up their second win of the series. 

The Colorado Rockies slide has featured losses in seven of their last eight games. Arizona’s destroyed the Rockies pitching with key explosive innings. Monday they scored four runs in the sixth, and Tuesday they began the game with five runs in the first inning. The hot hitting of the Diamondbacks features to be a tricky spot for Rockies starter Kyle Freeland. On May 30th also in an early time slot Freeland lasted just three innings while giving up five runs against the Diamondbacks. Yet look for the Rockies to sidestep their pitching issues and cash as small home dogs.

The New York Mets and Atlanta Braves will meet twice in the next ten days. Tuesday’s series will be played in Atlanta as the New York Mets try and attempt to continue their hot streak. If it’s going to continue the Mets will need high run support. In ten games against the Mets this year the Braves have averaged six runs a game. That includes a June 6th start by Zack Wheeler in which the Braves scored a total of twelve runs. Grab the cheap home favored price here on the Braves.

An unfamiliar spot lies for the Tampa Bay Rays Monday.  They will turn to Diego Castillo to pitch their first inning tonight on the road in San Diego. The inning may not fare well for Castillo as the Padres averaged 6.75 runs over four games in their last series against the Rockies. Yet this Rays team just continues to deliver in road environments with an MLB best 38-22 record. They’re a value underdog based on extended road travel that began up the Pacific coast in Seattle. Play Tampa Bay. 

The Diamondbacks head to Colorado which may help revitalize their bats. Two straight losses to the Dodgers featured just three runs. Prior the Diamondbacks had won five of six games by averaging seven runs a game. As poor as Rockies pitcher Peter Lambert has been the Rockies should be in a favorable spot against an taxed Diamondbacks bullpen. 

Monday’s starting pitchers between the Cleveland Indians and Boston Red Sox features the best wins to loss ratio of the slate. Don’t expect that to translate to a low-scoring game. Oddsmakers extended this total above double-digits in what should be a slugfest in Cleveland. The Indians lineup will be the latest to hit the Red Sox hard, and do not expect Indians starter Zach Plesac to uphold his season ERA. Grab the over.

The Nationals finally got a victory over the Mets to conclude their weekend series Sunday. Monday, they return home after a lengthy nine-game road trip that featured stops out West against Arizona and San Francisco. On the mound for the Nationals Monday will be erratic pitcher Eric Fedde. A positive is one of his two wins this year came against the Reds. Look for potent bats to key the Nationals to victory Monday. 

The San Francisco Giants will be in a rare prime time Sunday Night spot as they host the Philadelphia Phillies. They’ll face a Phillies team that’s just 2-4 on their current road trip and struggling at the plate. Their last three losses they have scored one run or less. Grab the prime time value on the Giants as they get the benefit of seeing Jake Arrieta the second time in ten days.

A steep price increase is the norm when it comes to the LA Dodgers. That’s even higher when potential Cy Young candidate Hyun Jin Ryu is on the mound. He’ll face a Diamondbacks team Sunday in which he has allowed just one run in thirteen innings of work this season. Expect the Dodgers to fare well against Diamondbacks pitcher Mike Leake who has been hit hard in three straight starts. Lay the price here on the Dodgers. 

Saturday expect the LA Dodgers winning ways at home to continue to flourish. On the year they’ve dominated the series matchup against the Diamondbacks with double the series wins on the year. While Diamondbacks young ace Alex Young has been phenomenal it’s been limited action. Grab the Dodgers to put another loss on the Diamondbacks wild card race chances. 

The long slump of the St. Louis Cardinals at the plate has been factored into Saturday’s total. Over their last eleven games they’ve averaged just two runs each. With the Pirates on a long losing stretch and familiarity of each other low runs is a possibility. Yet Joe Musgrove has been far too erratic including allowing four runs against the Cardinals on July 15th and five on July 25th. Grab the over as both teams succeed at the plate.

The worst team in MLB finds themselves getting value from the oddsmakers in Wednesday’s early matchup against the White Sox. The White Sox Ivan Nova has allowed an earned run or less in three straight starts, including a complete game against the Marlins. Those great efforts have not changed the fact that his ERA is still above five. He also struggled in his lone start against the Tigers this year in which he gave up six runs on eleven hits. Take the home team Tigers in this one. 

Losers of five straight the LA Angels will need offense to get of their rut. Poor pitching has resulted in the opponent averaging over seven runs a game during the Angels current losing streak. Run support has also been lacking but look for that to change Tuesday. Reds pitcher Anthony DesClafani has struggled to pitch beyond five innings as of late. Grab the value on the Angels ending their losing streak.

The Cleveland Indians are averaging six runs over their last ten games. It’s been a main catalyst as they’ve won eight of their last eleven games. Matching their scoring has been Texas Rangers who are coming off a home-series sweep of the Detroit Tigers. Overall the Rangers are averaging over six runs during their last ten games. With Aaron Civale getting his second career start this has put a focus on tonight’s total. Grab the value here on the under. 

The Tampa Bay Rays are red-hot once again having won six straight and eight of their last nine. Monday, they’ll face a Blue Jays team that they faced in Toronto last week. That plus their current win streak and ace Charlie Morton’s dominant 12-3 record have made tonight’s matchup a prime underdog spot. Look for the Blue Jays who are coming off consecutive losses to the lowly Orioles to cash as big underdogs. Grab Toronto. 

The Colorado Rockies have been woeful post All-Star break that has featured five straight series losses. San Francisco was one of the teams that had the Rockies numbers in a mid-July series with a twenty-five run differential. With Kyle Freeland’s struggles at home boasting a horrible 10.31 ERA, one would expect the Giants to have no problem scoring runs. In what should be a Coors Field high scoring fest grab the home team to sidestep Freeland’s woes and end their series losing streak. 

A quick turn around from Saturday to Sunday typically gives value on overs. Sunday that should be the case as the Mets and Pirates continue to be hot at the plate. Relief of not being traded should only boost Noah Syndergaard’s outing Sunday. Yet both bullpens are untrustworthy and Joe Musgrove has been susceptible with five home runs his last two starts. Saturday diamond action the Texas Rangers find themselves in one of the smallest money line offerings against the Detroit Tigers. The struggling Rangers have got back over .500 and will aim to build to a three-game win streak Saturday. In order to do so the Rangers Adrian Sampson must get back to his late May/early June success. In his last three starts he has surrendered sixteen runs along with a total of seven home runs. Even with Tigers pitcher Matt Boyd averaging double-digit strikeouts his last six starts grab the Rangers to deliver.

A theme for the Astros when Gerrit Cole takes the mound is runs galore. Four straight starts when Cole has been on the mound the Astros have scored eight runs or more. That figures to continue as the Cleveland Indians Danny Salazar will make his 2019 debut. After yesterday’s high-scoring affair and Astros bullpen letdown this would seem like a favorable spot for the over. Instead look for the Indians to have their bullpen ready early and Cole to continue to cruise. Grab the under. 

Starting pitchers with winning records usually do not have a strong disadvantage at home versus on the road. Yet that’s been an ongoing issue with Rockies pitcher German Marquez. He has not won a home start since May 31st and has given up tweet-six runs his last four home starts. Off of two prime underdog wins including a +175 game against the Yankees has shifted Marquez’s issue. Grab the Dodgers as they’re motivated to return home for a three-series home stand. 

One of the hottest teams in baseball at the plate has been the Toronto Blue Jays. Over their last four games they’ve scored a whopping thirty-five runs. Wednesday a turn around of thirteen hours against the Royals is in play for a potential road sweep for the Blue Jays. An underlying carry over factor from Tuesday’s matchup was that the Royals outhit the Blue Jays 11-10. Look for the Royals to transfer that over to runs and for the Blue Jays to finally cool off.
