08-28-22 | Pirates v. Phillies -1.5 | Top | 5-0 | Loss | -145 | 12 h 37 m | Show |
The Philadelphia Phillies got the shut-out win over the Pirates on Saturday, 6-0. That makes six straight wins for the Phillies, including two straight over the Bucs. They have outscored the Bucs in the two games, 13-4. Noah Syndergaard gets the start today for Philly with a 8-8 overall record in 19 starts and a 3.77 ERA. He's been slightly better of late with a 3-2 record in seven starts with a 3.63 ERA. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh has lost seven straight after their setback on Saturday. They have also been outscored 14-54 over their last six games. Roansy Contreras will start today for Pitsburgh. Contreras is 2-4 in 11 starts with a 3.90 ERA. That ERA goes up to 4.89 ERA over his last seven starts. With Atlanta or NY having a strangle hold on the NL top Wild Card, it's a battle for the final two. Right now Philly has that 2nd spot, 2.5 games ahead of the Padres and five games ahead of the Brewers. They know they need wins against teams like Pittsburgh to keep their postseason hopes going. Take Philly on the Run Line today. |

08-28-22 | Dodgers v. Marlins UNDER 7 | 8-1 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 7 m | Show
The Dodgers had their 3-game win streak snapped on Saturday by the Marlins and their Ace, Sandy Alcantara. Alcantara pitched a complete game, allowing just one run to the Dodgers and striking out nine, 2-1. The Dodgers were their own worst enemy, committing two very bad errors in the 6th that were ruled hits by the Santa Claus scoring the game. With two outs a slow comebacker to the mound went right under Mays glove for a runner. The next batter hit a slow roller to 2nd base that went under Taylor's glove. Next up, base hit for the eventual winning 2nd run. The Dodgers have been a very good fielding team, but three errors on Friday and those two miscues on Saturday leave a lot be be desired. The Dodgers will start Julio Urias this morning with a 13-7 record and 2.36 ERA. He's been great of late, going 6-1 in his last seven games with a 1.02 ERA. He's allowed just two total runs in his last four games. Edward Cabrera will start for the fish. Cabrera is 4-1 in his seven starts with a 1.41 ERA. He's been very good this far as has Urias. I'll take this game UNDER. |
08-27-22 | Braves v. Cardinals +110 | 5-6 | Win | 110 | 9 h 19 m | Show
The Atlanta Braves trail the NY Mets in the NL East by just 2-games. However, they have a strangle hold on the top NL Wild Card slot with a 10-game lead. The Braves have won four straight games after Friday's win over the Cardinals, 11-4. That makes 25 runs scored over their last two games. Charlie Morton will start today for the Braves with a 6-5 record in his 24 starts and a 3.99 ERA. He's been a bit worse on the road with a 2-4 record in 11 starts and a 5.08 ERA. The Cardinals are cruising in the NL Central, with a 6-game lead over the Brewers. They will start Jordan Montgomery today with a 7-3 record in his 25 starts and a 3.08 ERA. Montgomery has been great of late with just one total run allowed over his last four starts (25 2/3 innings). I'll take the Cardinals to even this series here today. |
08-27-22 | Duquesne +42 v. Florida State | 7-47 | Win | 100 | 5 h 49 m | Show
Florida State enters this 2022 campaign having four straight losing seasons. HC Mike Norvell will begin his third season at the helm and the pressure is likely on his now to turn this team around. The Seminoles did close out last season winning five of their final eight games after an 0-4 start to the season. The Noles did lose to an FCS school last year to Jacksonville State, their first ever to a FCS team. FSU looks to start the season with a win for the first time since 2016. Duquesne beat TCU last year, so they know how to beat FBS schools. The Dukes finished last year at 7-3. Good news for the team, they return their leading rusher and passer from last year. While 42 points is lot to lay, is should be close in this one. I'm taking the points with Duke as they likely will have to pass quite a bit here today. Take the points as they appear to be just a mountain too tall for this FSU team to lay today. |
08-27-22 | Rays -120 v. Red Sox | 1-5 | Loss | -120 | 6 h 14 m | Show
Tampa Bay continues to hold onto that Wild Card top spot in the American League, a 1/2 game ahead of both Toronto and Seattle with Baltimore 2.5 games back. Tampa Bay saw its six-game win streak snapped on Friday by Boston, 8-9. The Rays look to get back in the win column today with Jeffrey Springs on the hill. Springs is 5-3 in his 17 starts with a 2.76 ERA. Springs has allowed just two runs in his last two starts (10 2/3 innings) and three runs over his last four starts (21 2/3 innings). The Sox snapped their four-game losing streak on Friday with their win. Rich Hill will start today with a 5-5 record in his 18 starts and a 4.79 ERA. He has not done well at home, going 1-3 in seven starts with a 7.12 ERA. I'll take Tampa Bay to bounce back today. |
08-27-22 | Northwestern +13 v. Nebraska | 31-28 | Win | 100 | 95 h 4 m | Show
This game takes place all the way over in Dublin. No, not as in Dublin, Ohio but it's Dublin Ireland. This looks to be the best game of the opening days even though Nebraska coming off a 3-9 2021 season. HC Scott Frost will be on the hot seat as Husker fans will expect wins and early. Northwestern was also 3-9 last season so should be a good matchup of teams in rebuilding modes. Northwestern was also 3-9 ATS last season. Northwestern returns RB Evan Hull who rushed for over 1,000 yards last year. They also have four starters back on the OL, which will help Hull again. So why is Nebraska a 13-point favorite here on a neutral field? I have no idea. I see these teams at most a TD difference and really less than that. They are equally matched and while Nebraska has the pressure on it to win, I'm taking these generous points with the WildCats. Play Northwestern. |
08-26-22 | Yankees v. A's +1.5 | 3-2 | Win | 112 | 9 h 29 m | Show
The Yankees have won four straight games after their win over the A's on Thursday, 13-4. While the Yankees offense hasn't exploded in some time, the 13 runs last night was more than their previous three games combined. Gerrit Cole gets the start tonight for the Yankees with a 9-6 record in his 25 starts and a 3.41 ERA. Cole hasn't been that good of late, posting a 1-4 record in his last seven starts and a 4.30 ERA. The A's will counter tonight with JP Sears. Sears has been a bright spot in what has otherwise been a bad season. Sears has started five games and has a 4-0 record and 1.04 ERA. He's coming off a win over the Mariners as a +1.9 dog, allowing just one run over five innings for the win. I'm taking the Run Line here with the A's since I get +1.5 runs and still a plus money line. Play Oakland on the money line. |
08-26-22 | Patriots v. Raiders -1 | Top | 6-23 | Win | 100 | 8 h 5 m | Show |
Raiders HC Josh McDaniels looks to finish the preseason a perfect 4-0 and he'd like nothing better than to do it against the team he was offensive coordinator for, New England Patriots. The Raiders have yet to play any of their starters and don't expect to see them here tonight either. Ex-Patriot QB Jarrett Stidham has been excellent for the Raiders in the preseason and he should be since he was under McDaniels in New England. As for the Pats, QB Mac Jones could see some action, but expect a lot of Brian Hoyer and Bailey Zappe here tonight. Hoyer already has the backup spot to Jones, so he likely won't be in any mode to win and show off here tonight. The Pats are weak at WR and that will be good for the Raiders defense here tonight, which has played very well in the preseason. I don't see the Pats caring much for this game while McDaniels would love nothing more than to finish the preseason with a win over his former team. Take the Raiders. |
08-26-22 | Seahawks v. Cowboys UNDER 37.5 | 26-27 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 49 m | Show
Finale preseason game for both these teams here tonight. Seattle is 0-2 in the preseason and the Cowboys are 1-1 after beating the Chargers last week. They did score just seven points in their opening week loss to the Broncos. It appeared the Cowboys were going to finally get Dak Prescott some action here tonight, but earlier in the week it was released that Dak would not play tonight. This game likely means more to Seattle since they will be seeing which QB will start the season. However, that being said, I still expect this to be a lower scoring game tonight. Play the UNDER. |
08-26-22 | Hamilton -1 v. Toronto | 20-37 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 20 m | Show
These teams should be very tired of seeing each other by now as this is the third time in four weeks that they will have met. They met in week 9 and week 10 with the home team winning both time. Both teams also look to rebound after losing their last time out. Hamilton lost to Montreal, 28-29, while Toronto lost to Calgary, 19-22. I look for a close game here tonight between two evenly matched teams. That being said, the points look the way to go as Hamilton can win this game outright. Play Hamilton Tiger-Cats. |
08-25-22 | Twins v. Astros -1.5 | 3-6 | Win | 120 | 9 h 55 m | Show
Looks lie the Minnesota Twins are going to have a uphill battle to make the Playoffs. They were in 1st for a good portion of the season, but now have fallen back and trail the Wild Card race by four-games with four teams ahead of them. Won't get any easier as they play at 1st place Houston tonight. The Twins are already in a 5-game losing streak. Chris Archer will try to turn that around with a 2-6 record and 4.02 ERA. The Astros have won three straight and five of their last seven games. Luis Garcia will toe the rubber for the Astros with a 10-8 record and 4.01 ERA. The way the Twins are struggling, I'll lay the Run-Line here with the Astros. |
08-25-22 | Packers -122 v. Chiefs | Top | 10-17 | Loss | -122 | 8 h 19 m | Show |
Don't expect to see much of starters here in this final preseason game. We saw KC play QB Patrick Mahomes quite a bit last week and that will likely be it for him this preseason. Instead look for those bubble players to get the majority of time here tonight. The Chiefs regulars look very impressive in their win last week over Washington. The Packers snapped a 4-game preseason losing streak with their win last week over the Saints. Even if the Chiefs starters do play, it will be only briefly in the first half and then I'll look for the Packers to win it in the 2nd half. I'll take the Packers here on the Money Line tonight. |
08-25-22 | Angels v. Rays -1.5 | 3-8 | Win | 125 | 2 h 55 m | Show
Reason: Tampa Bay holding onto that top Wild Card slot at 1.5 games up right now for that race. They are in contention with two other AL East tames, the Jays and the Orioles. The Mariners hold the third spot currently with the Jays second. The Rays are looking for the four-game sweep here tonight vs the Angels. They have outscored LA in the three games, 17-5. They will face Patrick Sandoval today who is 4-8 in his 20 starts with a 2.97 ERA. The Rays will counter with Drew Rasmussen who is 8-2 in his 21 starts and a 2.82 ERA. He's been even better at home with a 5-1 record in 10 starts and a 1.99 ERA. I'll lay the Run Line here early on Thursday with the Rays. |
08-24-22 | Angels v. Rays UNDER 7 | 3-4 | Push | 0 | 8 h 27 m | Show
The Angels have dropped the first two games of this series with the Rays, scoring one run in each game. In fact, the offense has scored one run or no runs in four of their last five games. Mike Mayers will make his first start for the Halos, replacing Touki Toussaint who has been relegated to the pen. Mayers has worked out of the pen this year with a 1-0 record and 5.22 ERA. The Rays currently hold the top Wild Card spot in the A.L, a half game ahead of the Jays and Mariners with the Orioles 2.5-games back. Shane McClanahan will start today for the Rays. He's 11-5 in his 23 starts with a 2.29 ERA. I fully expect the Angels pathetic offense to once again be shut down here tonight. I'll go with the UNDER. |
08-24-22 | White Sox v. Orioles +108 | 5-3 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 27 m | Show
The Orioles need to keep winning if they hope to have a shot at one of the three AL Wild Card plays. Right now they are 4th in the race, 2.5 games back of both Toronto and Seattle. Minnesota is right behind them at 4 games back. The Orioles took game one of this three game set on Tuesday night, 5-3. The Sox will start Lucas Giolito today with a 9-7 mark in his 22 starts and a 5.34 ERA. He's been worse of late, posting a 6.03 ERA in his last seven starts. He has also allowed 11 runs over his last 10 innings. The O's turn to Spenser Watkins today. Watkins is 4-3 in his 16 starts with a 3.84 ERA. He's been good of late, with a 3-2 record and 2.70 ERA in his last seven starts. O's a small dog here and for me they should be favored. Play Baltimore. |
08-23-22 | Sky -6.5 v. Liberty | 90-72 | Win | 100 | 9 h 57 m | Show
Not many gave the Liberty a chance in this series. Especially the home crowd. The Sky could have won the first two games at home and this game at NY would never have been. Instead the Liberty took game one at Chicago as a 9-point dog and the split on the road gets them the home game tonight. Chicago is the defending WNBA champion, so don't expect them to fold under the pressure tonight. They reminded everyone of just that with a 32-point blowout win in game two of this series. Chicago had the 2nd best road record in the WNBA so playing here in NY tonight shouldn't bother them. NY is the team with no pressure tonight, but for me, I know the Sky are the much better team and they won't let this road venue bother them. I'll lay the points with Chicago. |
08-23-22 | Reds v. Phillies UNDER 8 | 6-7 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 7 m | Show
The NL Wild Card race is really a two-team race now as Atlanta has at least locked-up the Wild Card with an 8-game lead. However, just 1.5-games separate the next three teams for those final two spots, including Philadelphia which is tied for 2nd right now with the Padres. The Phillies took game one of this four game set with the Reds on Monday, 4-1. That was only their 2nd win in their last six games. Ranger Suarez makes the start here tonight for the Phils with a 8-5 record in his 21 starts and a 3.31 ERA. However, he's been much better of late, going 2-1 in his last seven starts with a 1.71 ERA. The Reds simply playing out the remainder of the season as they won't be going anywhere this postseason. They start Nick Lodolo here this evening with a 3-4 record in his 11 starts and a 4.11 ERA. Lodolo coming off his best start of the season last time out vs this Phillies team. He allowed them five hits and no runs over seven innings in a 1-0 Reds win. I'll stick with the UNDER here tonight. |
08-23-22 | Braves -1.5 v. Pirates | 6-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 1 m | Show
Reason: The Braves will make the postseason and be able to defend their Championship. They are 8-games in front of the next team for the top Wild Card slot. However, they still have the Mets in their sights for the AL East, just three-games back. The Braves beat Pittsburgh in game one of this three-game set last night, 2-1. Tonight, they will send Max Fried to the hill with a 11-4 record in his 23 starts and a 2.60 ERA. Fried has not allowed more than three runs in any of his last 10 starts. The Pirates have lost three straight games, due in part to the bad bullpen of late which has a 6.12 ERA over its last seven games. J.T. Brubaker will start today for the Bucs with a 3-10 record and 4.19 ERA over his 23 starts. Brubaker has pitched better than his 3-10 indicates, but again, this is Pittsburgh. I'll take the Braves and lay the Run Line. |
08-23-22 | Cardinals -1.5 v. Cubs | 0-2 | Loss | -115 | 2 h 16 m | Show
Reason: Game one of this doubleheader here on Tuesday has the St Louis Cardinals taking on the Chicago Cubs. St Louis trailed Milwaukee in the NL Central back in late July. Now, some 3-weeks Plus later they sit 5-games in 1st place over the Brewers. Adam Wainwright is 9-8 on the season with a 3.11 ERA. He's been better of late with a 3-1 record in his last seven starts and a 3.02 ERA. Wainwright has allowed one run or zero in four of his last five starts. The Chicago Cubs had their five-game win streak snapped by the Brewers and then lost again last night in the opening game of this series, 0-1. The Cubs have called up Javier Assad to start game one here today. Assad has a 2.66 ERA this year in both Double-A and Triple-A combined. Whether Assad's good play will carry over to the big league we'll see. I'm sticking with a very strong Cards team today and laying the run line. |
08-22-22 | Angels v. Rays -1.5 | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 9 m | Show |
The Angels and Rays begin a four-game set tonight from Tampa Bay. The Angels have lost two-straight games and five of their last six. Tucker Davidson makes his sixth start of the season. Davidson is 2-3 with a 5.56 ERA. He has a slightly higher 6.00 ERA in his two road starts. Tampa Bay has won two straight games and has improved to 65-55 on the season. The Rays, Jays and Mariners are all tied for the top three Wild Card slots, with the Twins and Orioles 2.5-games back. Jeffrey Springs starts for the Rays today. Springs is 4-3 in his 16 starts with a nifty 2.85 ERA. He has allowed just three total runs over his last three starts (16 innings). I'll take the home club here today as LA has to make the long trip East and that is never easy. Lay the Run Line with the Tampa Bay Rays. |
08-22-22 | Mets -150 v. Yankees | 2-4 | Loss | -150 | 7 h 19 m | Show
Subway series renews here tonight as the battle for the Big Apple between the Mets and Yankees play game one of this series. The Mets coming off a series with the Phillies where they took three of four games. Max Scherzer starts today and even though he has nine wins, that's fourth on this team in wins. Scherzer also has a 2.15 ERA and other than his last start where he gave up four runs to the Braves, he's allowed two runs or fewer in the previous 10 games. The Yankees have hit a bit of a skid of late. They did win on Sunday vs the Blue Jays, 4-2. However, that was the only game of their four-game set with Toronto they won. Moreover, they have now lost six of their last eight games. Domingo German will start tonight with a 1-2 record in his six starts and a 4.45 ERA. I'm taking the Mets here tonight as Scherzer is way better than German has been. Play the Mets. |
08-21-22 | Marlins +154 v. Dodgers | 3-10 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 50 m | Show
The Marlins have a tough task, beating the best team in baseball on their home field. That's the case today as Miami has to play at the LA Dodgers. Miami has lost the first two games in this series, getting outscored 1-9. The good news is that they have their ACE Sand Alcantara on the hill. Alcantara is a legitimate NL Cy Young candidate as he has a 11-5 record in 24 starts and a measy 1.92 ERA. The Dodgers have just about everything to make a big run at another World Series Title. However, today's starter is a bit of a question mark. Ryan Pepiot makes his seventh start of the season with a 4.26 ERA. He's made it into the fifth inning just once in those six previous starts. I can't pass up on Alcantara as a big road dog here today. Take Miami. |
08-21-22 | Cardinals v. Diamondbacks UNDER 7.5 | 6-4 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 49 m | Show
The Cardinals won their sixth straight game on Saturday with a win over the D'backs, 16-7. The Cards have taken over 1st place in the NL Central from Milwaukee, now leading the Brewers by 4-games. Jose Quintana will start today for the Red Birds. Quintana is 4-5 in his 23 starts with a 3.23 ERA. He's allowed two runs or fewer in five straight games. Arizona looks to salvage the rubber game of this series today. They will look to Merrill Kelly to do just that. Kelly is 10-5 in his 24 starts with a nifty 2.81 ERA. He's been even better of late going 3-0 in his last seven starts with a 1.53 ERA. Two hot pitchers looks like an UNDER for me here today. |
08-21-22 | Mariners v. A's UNDER 6.5 | 3-5 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 47 m | Show
Seattle and Oakland have split the first two games of this series, with the Mariners taking game 1, 10-2, and the A's taking last night's game, 4-3. The Mariners made a big mid-season pickup of Luis Castillo to make a run for one of the Wild Card slots. Right now the M's are tied for 1st in the Wild card race with Toronto and 1-game ahead of Tampa Bay and 1.5 ahead of Minnesota. In fact, there are six teams that are within three games of each other for three WildCard slots. Louis Castillo has been very good since he came over to Seattle as he's allowed just five runs in his last three starts, all team wins. He's now 5-4 on the season with a 2.73 ERA. The Oakland A's just playing for pride at this point, JP Sears gets the start today, just his fifth of the season. Sears is 3-0 in four starts with a 0.86 ERA. He's looked very sharp for the A's, allowing no runs in three of his starts. I'll take the UNDER here today with two very good pitchers. |
08-21-22 | Brewers v. Cubs +139 | 5-2 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 60 m | Show
The Milwaukee Brewers have dropped the first two games of this series with the Cubs. If they want to keep pace with the Cardinals in the NL Central then they can't let these games slip by. The Brewers now trail St Louis by 4-games in the division. Brandon Woodruff will start today for the Brewers with a 9-3 record in his 18 starts and a 3.53 ERA. The Cubs have won five straight games as they look for the sweep here today. Justin Steele will start for the Cubs with a 4-7 record and 3.43 ERA. However, he's been very good his last seven starts, posting a 1.66 ERA. Cubs a very live dog here today and that's all I need to be on them Play Chicago Cubs. |
08-20-22 | Giants v. Rockies OVER 11 | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 44 m | Show
The San Francisco Giants look to snap a three-game losing streak here tonight against the Rockies. The Giants have seen their record drop below the .500 mark. The Giants have also dropped to fifth in the Wild Card race, now 4.5 games back of a spot. Alex Cobb will start for the Giants with a 4-6 record in his 19 starts and a 4.26 ERA. Cobb has been getting hit hard on the road where he is 1-0 in seven starts with a 6.19 ERA. The Rockies beat the Giants in game one last night, 7-4, snapping a five-game losing streak. Ryan Feltner will start today with a 2-4 record in his 10 starts and a 6.84 ERA. He's been worse at home, posting a 7.65 ERA. I expect for this game to go over with these two pitchers on the mound. Take OVER. |
08-20-22 | Mets -115 v. Phillies | 1-4 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 18 m | Show
Game 2 of the doubleheader here on Saturday has the Mets taking on the Phillies. The Phils hold the second Wild Card spot in the NL. Atlanta either wins their division or has the top Wild Card spot as they Braves are 7.5 games ahead of second place Philly. However, it's a three way race for those final two Wild Card spots between the Phils, Padres and Brewers. The Mets beat the Phillies on Friday, 7-2. David Peterson starts game two for the Mets with a 5-2 record in his 14 starts and a 3.17 ERA. he's been better the last seven games with a 3-1 record and 2.39 ERA. Bailey Falter makes his eighth start of the season here this evening for the Phillies. Falter is 0-2 with a 4.83 ERA. I'm sticking with the Mets here today and the better starter in Peterson. Play NY. |
08-20-22 | 49ers v. Vikings -4.5 | Top | 17-7 | Loss | -110 | 105 h 34 m | Show |
The Vikings lost their first preseason game of the year at Las Vegas last Sunday, 20-26. They were a bit shorthanded too, with 13 players not dressing or playing including Dalvin Cook, QB Kirk Cousins and WR Justin Jefferson among the notables. The San Francisco 49ers are coming off a win in week one over the Green Bay Packers, 28-21. The 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is 6-7 S/U and 6-5-1 in his last 13 preseason games. The Vikings named Kevin O'Connell the head coach earlier this year. O'Connell was the offensive coordinator for the Super Bowl Champion Rams last year. It's expected that O'Connell will bring some explosive offensive schemes to this team with the talent they have on offense. Under O'Connell, the Rams QB Matthew Stafford and WR Cooper Kupp both had career seasons in 2021. The Vikings play at home here on Saturday and even though they played well at Las Vegas last week, I expect them to play much better this week as we'll likely get some starters in on the action. The 49ers will be hurting, especially on the offensive line where they suffered some injuries last week. This looks to be a perfect spot with the new coach at home making his debut before the home crowd. We saw that last week with the Raiders coach Josh McDaniels. Take the Vikings this week. |
08-20-22 | Steelers v. Jaguars -170 | 16-15 | Loss | -170 | 57 h 31 m | Show
In preseason you look for whatever nugget you can find that might give you that edge. This week the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in week 2 and Jags coach Pederson has come right out and said his team has "Gotta take it up another notch on Saturday." I can't see laying 3.5-points with the Jaguars here tonight, but I will lay the money line with Jacksonville and just look for them to win the game. Take Jacksonville on the Money Line. |
08-20-22 | Angels -158 v. Tigers | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -158 | 3 h 43 m | Show |
The Angels took game one of this series with the Tigers on Friday, 1-0. Neither team will be going to the postseason, and it's a extreme longshot for either team to get break the .500 mark. Ried Detmers will start today for the Angels with a 4-3 record in his 18 games with a 3.45 ERA. Detmers has been even better of late, going 2-0 in his last seven starts with a 2.41 ERA. Detmers has allowed two runs or fewer in each of his last six starts. The Tigers look to snap a two-game losing streak here tonight. The bullpen hasn't been much use of late, posting a 7.32 ERA in their last seven games. Tyler Alexander looks for his first win of the season here today after posting a 0-7 mark in his first eight games. Alexander has a 5.67 ERA. I'll stick with the Angels here today as not much confidence can be put in the Tigers and Alexander. |
08-20-22 | Broncos v. Bills -215 | 15-42 | Win | 100 | 51 h 31 m | Show
Week 2 action in the NFL preseason has the Denver Broncos playing at the Buffalo Bills. Denver won last week at home over Dallas, 17-7 while Buffalo beat Indianapolis, 27-24. If there is a game in the preseason where we will see starters, this is the one. Neither head coach has come out and said he will play starters, but this is likely the game if they are. Some teams look to win in preseason and that is Buffalo. The Bills have won their last nine preseason games and that includes 4-0 in 2019, 3-0 in 2021 (Note: no 2020 preseason games because of Covid). The Bills are at home, coach McDermott has shown his proclivity for winning in preseason and Denver has to make the long trip East. I'll take Buffalo, but I'm going to take them just to win on the Money Line. |

08-19-22 | Marlins v. Dodgers -1.5 | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -120 | 9 h 49 m | Show |
The Miami Marlins took two of three games from the San Diego Padres, though they dropped the rubber game on Thursday, 3-10. Tonight they move a bit North to LA to take on team with the best record in baseball, the Dodgers. Miami will start Jesus Luzardo who is 3-5 with a 3.72 ERA in his nine starts. The Dodgers are coming off a split of their four game series in Milwaukee, dropping last night's contest, 3-5. They have now won 14 of their last 17 games. Tyler Anderson has been great this year for the Dodgers with a 12-2 record in his 20 starts. Anderson has a 2.84 ERA overall, 2.30 at home and 2.25 in his last seven starts. The Dodgers should have little trouble with this Marlins team. I'm laying the Run Line. |
08-19-22 | Texans -135 v. Rams | Top | 24-20 | Win | 100 | 12 h 14 m | Show |
The Houston Texans opened their preseason last week with a win over the Saints, 17-13. QB Davis Mills had only three passes, but expect to see a lot more of him here tonight. The Rams opened preseason with a win last week over the Chargers, 29-22. Most of the team's starters didn't play and knowing Sean McVay, don't expect to see much of them tonight either. Tonight I will be on the Texans. Why? Mainly because they are expected to play a lot more of their starters and the Rams will not. We don't know how many drives the Texans starters will be part of, but it's more than zero and that gives us the edge here tonight. Take the Texans. |
08-19-22 | Astros v. Braves UNDER 8.5 | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 6 h 59 m | Show
An Interleague clash of two powerhouses here as the team with the best record in the AL, Houston, clashes with the 2nd place NL East Atlanta Braves. Houston has won two straight games and six of their last eight. Lance McCullers Jr will get just his second start of the season here tonight. He had a nice first outing, going six innings vs the A's and allowing just two hits and no runs. The Atlanta Braves took three of four games from the NY Mets, including Thursday's contest, 3-2. They have won nine of their last 10 games. Kyle Wright will toe the rubber tonight with his 14-5 record in 22 starts and a 3.14 ERA. Both pitchers can take over this game tonight. I'll look for a low scoring affair and take the UNDER. |
08-19-22 | Edmonton Elks v. Ottawa OVER 48.5 | 30-12 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 40 m | Show
Two bad teams meet here tonight as the Edmonton Elks take on the Ottawa Redblacks. The Elks are the worst team in the CFL this year. However, the Redblacks are just 1-7 and laying points?? Both these teams have horrible defenses and that may come into play tonight for the total. While I don't like a side, I do think we'll see points as neither defense should be able to stop the other side. Lets take the OVER here tonight. |
08-18-22 | Mystics v. Storm -175 | 83-86 | Win | 100 | 8 h 23 m | Show
The Washington Mystics were the top defensive rated team in the WNBA this season. The Seattle Storm are not far behind them, so this should be a tough, defensive battle. The Storm have done well as a money line favorite, going 14-4 their last 18 times as the favored team. Home court is most critical in this first round of best of three. That's because the lower seed team may not get a home game. Seattle hosts the first two games in this series and could advance to the next round without ever leaving home. Seattle knows this and a loss here tonight shifts the momentum to Washington. I look for Seattle to put for a top effort tonight. I won't lay the points, but I will take Seattle on the Money Line. |
08-18-22 | Diamondbacks v. Giants UNDER 7 | Top | 5-0 | Win | 100 | 6 h 32 m | Show |
Arizona took game three of this four game set with the Giants last night, 3-2. The Giants still lead the series two games to one. Tonight, the Diamondbacks will start Zac Gallen who is 8-2 in his 22 starts with a 3.02 ERA. Gallen has been even better of late, posting a 2.08 ERA and 4-0 record in his last seven starts. The pen has been solid also, especially of late with a 2.61 ERA over their last seven games. The Giants look to stay above the .500 mark tonight as they sit 59-58. The Giants need to make up room in the NL Wild Card and quickly. They are 5th right now for one of three wild card slots, 5-games back of the Padres for that third spot. Logan Webb has been excellent for the Giants, posting a 11-5 record in his 24 starts with a 3.00 ERA. He's coming off a eight-inning outing vs the Pirates where he allowed five hits and no runs. These are two very good pitchers and I look for a low scoring game here today. Play the UNDER. |
08-18-22 | Rockies v. Cardinals -1.5 | 0-13 | Win | 100 | 2 h 12 m | Show
The St Louis Cardinals look for the 3-game sweep here today from the Colorado Rockies. The Cardinals have leapt into 1st place in the NL Central Division with a 65-51 record and a 3-game lead over the Milwaukee Brewers. Adam Wainwright will toe the rubber today for the Red Birds. Wainwright is 8-8 in his 23 starts with a 3.27 ERA. He's been better at home with a 4-3 record in 12 starts and a 2.30 ERA. The Rockies have lost four straight games heading into today's action. Antonio Senzatela starts today for Colorado with a 3-6 record and 4.67 ERA. He's been slightly worse on the road where he is 0-4 in seven starts with a 5.50 ERA. I look for the Cardinals to continue their dominance over the Rockies and extend their win streak here today. I'll lay the Run Line with Wainwright and the Cards. |
08-17-22 | Liberty +10 v. Sky | 98-91 | Win | 100 | 9 h 32 m | Show
Game one of the best of three tonight in Chicago has the Sky hosting the NY Liberty. Chicago is looking to be the first back-to-back champions as they begin defense of their 2021 crown. The Liberty are led by record setting guard Sabrina Lonescu who was the first player with 500+ points as well as 200+rebounds and 200+assists. The Sky can't overlook the Liberty in this series. The Liberty had the 2nd best defense rating over the last two weeks. Chicago was 3-1 S/U vs the Liberty this year, however the Liberty owned the spread record at 2-1-1 ATS. I believe this line is too high for a very good defensive team like New York. I'll take the Liberty plus the heafty points here tonight. |
08-17-22 | Orioles +155 v. Blue Jays | 1-6 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 19 m | Show
The ever changing Wild Card picture in the American league now sees Seattle Mariners holding the top spot with Tampa Bay in 2nd, the Jays holding the third and final spot and the Orioles a half game back in 4th. The Twins and White Sox box one-game back of the group. The Baltimore Orioles have won two straight games and look for the sweep in this important series with the Jays. Austin Voth toes the rubber today for the O's with a 3-1 record in his nine starts and a 3.22 ERA. He's been even better on the road with a 1-1 record in four starts and a 2.20 ERA. Toronto will start Ross Stripling tonight. Stripling returns from the IR after missing the last three weeks. Stripling is 4-3 in his 15 starts with a 3.01 ERA. Not sure how well Stripling will be here today, so I'll take the O's who have been playing very well. Play Baltimore. |
08-16-22 | Astros v. White Sox UNDER 7 | 3-4 | Push | 0 | 10 h 27 m | Show
Two of the best pitchers in the American League will butt heads here tonight in the Chicago as Justin Verland and Dylan Cease take to the hill. Houston lost the opening game of this four-game set on Monday , 2-4. That snapped a four-game win streak for the Astros. Verlander has been great again this year with a 15-3 record in his 21 starts and a 1.85 ERA. Meanwhile, the White Sox have won four straight games as they moved into 2nd place in the AL Central, two-games back of the Guardians. Their Ace, Dylan Cease has been impressive all season with a 12-5 record and 1.96 ERA in his 23 starts. Just how good has Cease been? Well, consider he's allowed one run or no runs in 12 straight starts. That is impressive. I'll take the UNDER here and won't be surprised by a 1-0 or 2-1 victory. |
08-16-22 | A's +106 v. Rangers | Top | 5-1 | Win | 106 | 10 h 21 m | Show |
The Oakland A's look to snap a 9-game losing streak here tonight in Texas. The A's dropped Monday's contest in game one of this set with the Rangers, 1-2. They will turn to JP Sears to get things back in the win column. Sears has only three starts, but they have been very good starts. He's 2-0 with a 1.13 ERA and 0.750 WHIP. Sears has allowed no runs in two of his three outings this season. The Rangers have won three straight games including taking two of three from the Mariners. The Rangeers' will debut Kohei Arihara today as he makes his 2022 debut. Arihara was called up from Triple-A Round Rock where he had a 4.18 ERA in 18 games (14 starts). Sears has impressed me thus far and I'm not sure Arihara will do the same for the Rangers. I'll take the A's tonight. |
08-15-22 | Orioles v. Blue Jays OVER 9 | 7-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 33 m | Show
The Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blues Jays are fighting for two of the three A.L. Wild Card slots. The Jays hold first place in that race, 1/2-game ahead of Seattle, 1-game ahead of Tampa Bay and 1.5-games ahead of Baltimore with the Twins and White Sox just two-games back. That's six teams within two games of each other for the Wild Card slots. That makes this 3-game set very important to both teams. The Orioles lost two of their three games to the Rays, including both Saturday and Sunday. They will send Kyle Bradish to the hill today. Bradish is 1-4 in his 13 starts with a 6.42 ERA. The Blue Jays have lost four of their last five games six of their last seven. Yusei Kikuchi will start today for the Jays with a 4-6 record in 19 starts and a 5.13 ERA. Both teams need wins, but this one looks to be decided by the pens as neither starter all that good. I'll take the OVER today. |
08-14-22 | Phillies v. Mets UNDER 7 | 0-6 | Win | 105 | 3 h 14 m | Show
The first two games of this three game series have been split by these teams in what were very good pitching matchups. The Phillies won game one on Friday, 2-1 and dropped yesterday's contest 0-1. Zack Wheeler toes the rubber today for the Phillies. Wheeler has a 11-5 record in his 21 starts with a 2.63 ERA. He's been a bit better of late, going 5-1 in his last seven starts with a 2.17 ERA. The Mets have received outstanding pitching all season, including a bullpen that has a 3.61 overall ERA and 2.95 ERA their last seven games. Chris Bassitt will go today with a 9-7 record in his 21 starts and a 3.32 ERA. He's been slightly better at home with a 2.73 ERA and a 2.28 ERA his last seven overall games. He's also allowed no runs over his last two starts (15 innings) with 12 KO's and two walks. I'm sticking with the theme in this series and going UNDER. |
08-14-22 | Guardians v. Blue Jays UNDER 7 | 7-2 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 12 m | Show
The Cleveland Guardians have taken over 1st place in the AL Central with a 60-53 record. They lead the Minnesota Twins by 1.5-games. The Guardians saw their six-game win streak snapped on Saturday by the Blue Jays, 1-2. Shane Bieber will start today for the Guardians with a 7-6 record and 3.28 ERA. Beiber has allowed two runs or fewer in each of his last three starts. The Toronto Blue Jays won't win the AL East, but they are in the thick of it for one of three AL Wild Card slots. The Jays currently hold the top Wild Card spot, a half game ahead of Seattle, two games over Tampa Bay and three teams within four games. Kevin Gausman will start today for the Jays with a 8-8 record and 2.91 ERA. He's been slightly better of late with a 3-2 record in his last seven starts and a 2.33 ERA. Gausman has not allowed a run over his last two starts (14 innings) with 15 KO's and just one walk. Both pitchers are hot and these are two playoff caliber teams. I'll take the UNDER here today. |
08-13-22 | Dolphins v. Bucs UNDER 31.5 | 26-24 | Loss | -110 | 128 h 58 m | Show
These Florida teams meetup here in week 1 of the NFL preseason as the Bucs host the Dolphins. Some bad blood here in this matchup as the Dolphins were recently found to have had impermissible contact with Tampa QB Tom Brady. This might cost Miami a 2023 1st Round and 2024 4th round draft picks. We know that the Brady led Bucs will once again be a offensive force, but we won't likely see Brady between the lines tonight. One thing you need to look at in preseason are the coaches. You get some coaches who care about winning these games and others that could care less. Miami head coach Mike McDaniel has no track record in preseason. Same goes for Tampa coach Todd Bowles. So for me, this game with two you rookie head coaches. Both these coaches are in their first year at the top spot. I believe this will play good for the under as both will play backups primarily and concentrate more on players then on pushing the ball and winning. With these two rookie coaches I'm taking the UNDER here tonight. |
08-13-22 | Dodgers -1.5 v. Royals | 13-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 18 m | Show
The Dodgers continue their assault over both leagues as they have now won their 11th-game in a row after Friday's win over the Royals, 8-3. Tony Gonsolin had a no hitter into the 7th before a pair of his drove him from the game. Today, it looks to be a repeat of yesterday as Andrew Heaney takes to the mound for his 7th start of the season. Heany has been excellent with a 1-0 record and 0.64 ERA his his six starts. Only the Giants and Indians cracked the scoreboard against his thus far. The Royals counter with Brad Keller who is 6-12 in his 21 starts with a 4.60 ERA. Really doesn't matter who the Royals throw on the hill here today, they won't be stopping this offense of the Dodgers. I'll lay the Run Line with LA. |
08-13-22 | Panthers +1.5 v. Washington Commanders | 23-21 | Win | 100 | 73 h 2 m | Show
The Washington Commanders have shook up their defense by firing their defensive line coach Sam Mills III just weeks before the season starts. Jeff Zgonina will take over for him. Usually coaching changes are done during the off season, not weeks before a new season starts. Both these teams looking to rebound from losing 2021 campaigns. Washington Coach Ron Rivera is 20-17 S/U and 19-16-1 ATS in his preseason career as a head coach. Panthers head coach Matt Rhule looks to have made some decent off season moves to a team that already has a very good defense. Baker Mayfield comes over to Carolina from Cleveland to compete with Sam Darnold for the starting spot. That could be good for bettors in preseason as the team needs to see which QB gels with the team. I'm going to take the Panthers here today as I expect to see one of these QB's get some decent playing time and that will be good for us bettors. Play Carolina plus the points. |
08-13-22 | Chiefs v. Bears OVER 37 | 14-19 | Loss | -110 | 48 h 12 m | Show
Matt Nagy returns to Chicago on Saturday, this time on the other sideline as the Chiefs QB Coach. Nagy was head coach for the Bears since 2018. The Chiefs have little to prove, having won the AFC West for six consecutive seasons. Andy Reid usually doesn't play starters in the preseason as he looks to keep them healthy. However, not the case for Bears new HC Matt Eberflus. Look for Eberflus to set the tone early that he's in Chicago to win games. Expect the Chiefs to play Chad Henne and Trevor Siemian a lot at QB with Shane Beuchele and Dustin Crum to also get some snaps. The Bears likely will play some starters here today, at least more than the Chiefs. This is one of those preseason games that I expect to see a lot of points. The Bears will be out to score here tonight and get a tone going early in the season. Play the OVER. |
08-12-22 | Dodgers -1.5 v. Royals | Top | 8-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 3 m | Show |
The Dodgers have the best record in baseball and not only that, they have won 10-straight games! They have an amazing lineup of hitters, the starting staff is among the best in baseball and their relief pitching has been outstanding. All the elements of another Dodgers run to the World Series? Well, the Mets might have something to say about that. But, the Royals will not today. Tony Gonsolin is 13-1 and coming off another solid performance where he allowed no runs and just three hits over five innings. The Royals have been playing decent, winning two straight and five of their last six. Daniel Lynch will start today with a 4-7 record and 4.79 ERA. He's actually slightly worse at home with a 1-3 record in seven starts and a 5.97 ERA. I'm sticking with the red-hot Dodgers and laying the run line! |
08-12-22 | Mariners -154 v. Rangers | 6-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 58 m | Show
The Seattle Mariners continue to make their run at one of the three Wild Card games in the A.L. as they have won two straight games over the Yankees. The M's are now in the 2nd spot for a Wild Card and just a half game back of the Jays for a 3-game set that gives them home field. Gone are the one and done Wild Card formats, now it's best of three so home field could be huge. Seattle starts George Kirby today who is 3-3 with a 3.40 ERA in his 15 starts. Kirby has been excellent of late, allowing two runs or fewer in each of his last five starts. The Rangers won't be going anywhere but home this postseason. They have lost three of their last four games.Texas will go with a bullpen starter tonight in Josh Sborz. I doubt anything will help as the Mariners have owned the Rangers. Sborz is 0-0 with a 5.87 ERA in the pen this year. I'll take Seattle here on Friday. |
08-12-22 | Phillies v. Mets UNDER 7 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 4 m | Show
The Philadelphia Phillies had their seven game win streak snapped yesterday by Miami, 0-3. The Phils have been very good, especially with their bullpen that has a 2.16 ERA over their last seven starts. Ranger Suarez gets the start today with a 8-5 record and 3.68 ERA. He's also been good of late, posting a 4-1 record in his last seven starts with a 2.63 ERA. The NY Mets look to extend their win streak to seven games today. They are coming off a 3-game sweep over Cincinnati, allowing the Reds a total of five runs in the three games. Max Scherzer has been excellent for the Mets and he will toe the rubber today. Scherzer is 8-2 in his 15 starts with a 1.98 ERA. That number drops to 1.77 at home and 1.37 over his last seven starts. This game has all the markings of a low scoring affair tonight. I'll take the UNDER. |
08-12-22 | Orioles +135 v. Rays | 10-3 | Win | 135 | 9 h 4 m | Show
The Baltimore Orioles are in the playoff hunt! That's right, the O's are in 4th place right now for three Wild Card slots in the AL. However, they are just a half game back of that third spot behind Tampa Bay. That makes this series with the Rays huge for that Wild Card positioning. Austin Voth will start for the O's today with a 2-1 record in his eight starts and a 3.19 ERA. He's been good in his three road starts, with a 1.64 ERA. The Rays will start Corey Kluber today with a 7-6 record and 4.05 ERA. Very nice dog price here today with the Orioles and for me that's too much to pass on. Play Baltimore. |
08-11-22 | Orioles +112 v. Red Sox | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 40 m | Show
The Baltimore Orioles had yesterday's game postponed to prepare for tonight's contest at Boston. The Orioles have been hot, winning two straight and seven of their last eight games. With three AL Wild Card berths this year the O's are tie for that third spot right now with Tampa Bay and just 2-games out of the top spot. Dean Kremer will start tonight for the O's with a 4-3 record in his 11 starts with a 3.43 ERA. Kremer coming off a excellent start where he went 6 1/3 innings and allowed just four hits and no runs to the Pirates. The Red Sox look to be going the wrong way in the AL East, losing four straight and six of their last seven games. Josh Winckowski starts today with a 5-5 record in his 10 starts and a 4.68 ERA. He's been worse at home with a 3-3 record in his six starts and a 6.18 ERA. I'm sticking with the hot Orioles tonight as a small, live dog. Play Baltimore. |
08-11-22 | Giants -145 v. Patriots | Top | 23-21 | Win | 100 | 8 h 30 m | Show |
The NY Giants will introduce their new HC in Brian Daboll tonight. We know the starters will see little if any playing time since that seems to be the way teams are going now. Or is it? Playoff teams I expect will not play many if any starters. However, teams that will try to make the playoffs might send more starters onto the field. That is what I might see tonight with the Giants. QB is the most important spot in preseason. The Giants will have Tyrod Taylor taking a lot of snaps tonight and Brian Hoyer taking them for the Patriots. New HC Daboll has already come out and said he anticipates "all of our guys" playing vs New England in the opener. I look tonight for the Giants to have Taylor looking very good in a bid to win the regular season starting spot and Daboll to showcase a new Giants offense. I'm taking the Giants on the Money Line tonight. |
08-10-22 | Rangers v. Astros -1.5 | Top | 8-4 | Loss | -135 | 8 h 10 m | Show |
The Texas Rangers lost game one of this three game set with their instate rivals, Houston. The Astros took game one, 7-5 on Tuesday. The Rangers dropped to 48-61 and have no postseason hopes. Glenn Otto starts today with a 4-8 record in his 16 starts and a 5.31 ERA. Otto has been ok of late but the team has not won any of his last seven starts and Otto is 0-5 during that same span. The Houston Astros are cruising to their AL West Championship with a 71-40 record and 11.5-games ahead of 2nd place Seattle. Their ACE, Just Verlander will toe the rubber today. Verlander is 15-3 in his 20 starts with a 1.73 ERA. He's been even better of late with a 7-0 record in his last seven starts and a 0.76 ERA. I'm going to lay the Run Line here with the Astros and look for an easy win. |
08-10-22 | Liberty +4.5 v. Wings | 91-73 | Win | 100 | 8 h 1 m | Show
The WNBA down to just a handful of regular season games. Eight teams will make the playoffs and New York needs to win out to really have a shot. The Liberty are 13-20 on the season and tied for 9th in the league. They are just a half game behind the final playoff spot held by Atlanta. That means wins are imperative for the club. Meanwhile Dallas has clinched a playoff spot with a 17-16 record. The Wins are in 6th place and look to be locked into that spot as they trail 5th place Washington by two games. The Wings look to have nothing to play for these final games while the Liberty will be playing for their playoff lives. I'll take New York plus the points here today. |
08-10-22 | Rays v. Brewers UNDER 7.5 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 2 h 11 m | Show
Tampa Bay looking for one of the Wild Card slots as they sit at 58-51 and are in third place in the Wild Card standings. They are just a 1/2 game back of 2nd place Seattle and 1.5 back of 1st place Toronto. The Rays will start Jeffrey Springs today. Springs is 3-3 in his 14 starts with a nice 2.87 ERA. Springs allowed no runs in his last start vs the Tigers, going six innings and striking out six and walking none. The Milwaukee Brewers held onto 1st place for most of the season, but now find themselves in 2nd place behind St Louis, just one game back. And the Brewers will have to compete with four teams in the NL Wild Card race if they can't take the division title. Brandon Woodruff has been a shining star for the Brewers this year. Woodruff is 9-3 with a 3.49 ERA. He's been even better at home with a 5-0 record in six starts and a 2.08 ERA. I look for this contest to be low scoring and will take the UNDER. |
08-09-22 | Yankees v. Mariners +122 | Top | 0-1 | Win | 122 | 11 h 27 m | Show |
The Yankees snapped their 5-game losing streak with their win over the Mariners on Monday, 9-4. Yankees have little doubt of winning the AL East, but are happy to get back in the win column. Gerrit Cole makes the start today with a 9-4 record in his 22 starts and a 3.56 ERA. He's been slightly worse lately with a 3-2 record in his last seven starts and a 4.70 ERA. The Mariners have their eyes set on a AL Wildcard spot and they went out and picked up today's starter, Luis Castillo, just to achieve that. Castillo makes his second start for the M's and gets a rematch with the Yankees and Cole for his second start. Castillo beat the Yankees last week, going 6 2/3 innings and allowing three runs. I like the M's to bounce back here tonight with their newest pitcher on the hill. Play Seattle. |
08-09-22 | Rangers v. Astros UNDER 8 | 5-7 | Loss | -120 | 9 h 27 m | Show
Texas and Houston battle in their Lone State matchup here tonight as they begin a three-game set. The Rangers are coming off a loss on Sunday vs the White Sox, 2-8, as they split that four-game series with Chicago. Martin Perez is one of the best for the Rangers as he toes the rubber tonight. Perez is 9-2 in his 21 starts with a 2.47 ERA. Perez has been great on the road, posting a 5-0 record in 10 starts with a 2.26 ERA. Perez has allowed just one run in each of his last four starts. Houston looks to snap a two-game losing streak here on Tuesday. The bullpen has been hot too, posting a 1.15 ERA over their last seven games. Jose Urquidy starts for the Astros with a 10-4 record in his 20 starts and a 3.62 ERA. He's been very good of late with a 2.11 ERA in his last seven starts. I look for a low scoring match here tonight with these two pitchers on the hill. Play the UNDER. |
08-08-22 | Yankees v. Mariners -102 | Top | 9-4 | Loss | -102 | 11 h 12 m | Show |
The Yankees hope a new series here on Monday will break their current 5-game losing streak. The Yankees were swept by the red-hot Cardinals in their three game series and lost two of three in the previous series to the Mariners. Jameson Taillon will start for the Yankees today. Taillon is having a fine season at 10-2 with a 3.96 ERA. However, he has struggled a bit lately with a 2-1 record in his last seven games and a 5.71 ERA. The Mariners making a big push for one of the new Wild Card spots by bolstering their pitcher staff with Luis Castillo. The M's have won four of their six games though they are coming off a four-game split with the LA Angels. Their top pitcher gets the start today in Logan Gilbert. Gilbert is 10-4 with a 3.16 ERA though a slightly higher 4.54 ERA his last seven starts. I'll take the M's at home and I'll see if I can still get them as a slight dog here. Play Seattle. |
08-07-22 | Yankees v. Cardinals +120 | Top | 9-12 | Win | 120 | 5 h 60 m | Show |
I was on the Cardinals yesterday as I looked for Montgomery to show his old team, the Yankees, that they should have let him go. And he did just that, shutting out NY as the Cards won, 1-0. The Yankees in an uncharacteristic 4-game losing skid as they head into today's contest. Frankie Montas makes his Yankees debut today as he looks to avoid the Cardinals sweep. Montas comes over from the Athletics. Montas was 4-9 with a 3.18 ERA with the A's. The St Louis Cardinals are in 1st place in the NL Central, thanks to a 6-game win streak. They look for sweep today, holding the Yankees to three runs in their first two games. Adam Wainwright will start today for the Cardinals with a 8-8 record and 3.11 ERA. He's been even better at home with a 4-3 record and 1.79 ERA. Cardinals are a dog today and for me that's a very live dog with their momentum and the better pitcher on the mound. Take the Cardinals. |
08-06-22 | Angels v. Mariners UNDER 7.5 | 7-1 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 1 m | Show
Game 2: The Angles and Mariners play game two of their Doubleheader here on Saturday. The Angels took game one on Friday, 4-3. That snapped a two game losing streak by the Halos. Reid Detmer starts game two for the Angels. Detmer is 3-3 in his 16 starts with a 3.62 ERA. He's allowed two runs or fewer in each of his last four starts. The Mariners proved they want to be serious contenders for a AL Wild Card when they acquired pitcher Luis Castillo before the trade deadline. Chris Flexen will start game two today. Flexen is 7-8 in his 20 starts with a 3.73 ERA. He's been better of late, going 5-0 in his last seven starts with a 2.79 ERA. He's also allowed two runs or fewer in each of his last five starts. Both pitchers have been good in recent starts and with that I'll be on the UNDER here today. |
08-06-22 | Yankees v. Cardinals -108 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 6 m | Show
The Yankees and Cardinals play game two of their Interleague series. The Cardinals won the opener on Friday, 4-3. The Yankees have dropped three straight games. However, that makes little dent in their AL East lead as they still have a 10.5-game cushion over 2nd place Toronto. Domingo German will make just his fourth start here today. German is 1-1 with a 6.39 ERA. He has two starts on the road with a 8.21 ERA. Meanwhile, the Cardinals have won five straight games. They have finally caught the Brewers in the NL Central and are tied with Milwaukee for the division lead. Jordan Montgomery will make his first start fro the Cardinals since he was traded for outfielder Harrison Bader. Montgomery makes the start against his old team. the Yankees. Montgomery was upset with the trade, thinking he would be a Yankee for life. Does he want to show his old team that they made a big mistake letting him go? I think so, and I'll take the hot Cardinals with Montgomery here today. |
08-06-22 | Pirates v. Orioles -149 | Top | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 6 h 56 m | Show |
The Pittsburgh Pirates look to even their I.L. series with the Baltimore Orioles here today. The Pirates lost their opener on Friday, 0-1. The loss snapped a 3-game win streak by Pittsburgh. They will send J.T. Brubaker to the hill today. Brubaker has had a rough season with a 2-9 record and 4.40 ERA. He is also coming off a terrible start where he allowed 12 hits and seven runs over 4 1/3 innings to the Phillies. The Orioles won their fourth straight game on Friday. The pitching staff has been very good, allowing three runs or fewer in each of their last five games. The bullpen has been solid all year, with a 3.08 ERA and a 2.33 home ERA. Austin Voth gets the start today. Voth is 1-1 in his seven starts with a nice 2.77 ERA. Voth has allowed just one earned run over his last two starts (8 innings). I'll take the O's here tonight to keep their win streak going. |
08-05-22 | Rockies v. Diamondbacks -125 | Top | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 56 m | Show |
Colorado salvaged the final game of their four game set with the Padres, taking Thursday's contest 7-3. That snapped a five-game losing streak for the Rockies. The Rockies will start German Marquez today who is 6-9 in his 20 starts with a 5.29 ERA. Arizona has lost five of their six games after Thursday's setback at Cleveland, 4-7. They will send veteran Madison Bumgarner to the hill today. Bumgarner is 6-10 in his 21 starts with a 3.83 ERA. He's been slightly better at home with a 5-3 record and 3.03 ERA. The Rockies haven't done well on the road, going 17-36 over their last 53 away games. That includes teams with losing records as they are just 5-13 in their last 18 on the road vs those clubs. Meanwhile, Arizona has won five of their last six home games. I'll take the D'backs here today. |
08-05-22 | Red Sox v. Royals +101 | 7-4 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 26 m | Show
The Boston Red Sox lost their opening game at Kansas City on Thursday, 3-7. That makes them on a two game losing skid as they play game two of four here in KC tonight. The Sox will send Josh Winckowski to the hill today. He's 4-5 in his nine starts with a 5.00 ERA. The Sox haven't been a good bet of late, going 6-15 in their last 21 games and 3-11 in their last 14 road games. The Royals look to put back-to-back wins together for the first time since July 24 and 25th. Veteran Zack Greinke will toe the rubber for the Royals today. Greinke is 3-6 in his 17 starts with a 4.41 ERA. However, he's been great at home with a 3-1 record in eight starts and a 1.65 ERA. I like Greinke on the hill tonight. Take the Royals. |
08-05-22 | Calgary v. Ottawa +5 | 17-3 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 47 m | Show
Ottawa finally break into the win column last game with a win to make them 1-6 on the season. Conversely, Calgary (4-2) is looking to break their first losing streak of the season. The Calgary Stampeders might be without their head coach Dave Dickerson who was forced to remain home with Covid protocols. Ottawa got their first win of the season with a win over Toronto last Sunday, 23-13. The Redblacks have been without injured QB Jeremiah Masoli. However, his replacement, Caleb Evans, who had a career high 82.8% completion last week and has now thrown 90 passes without an INT. Calgary is 2-5 ATS in their last seven games. Tonight they are laying five point on the road. I'll take the Redblacks here tonight and won't be surprised by an outright win. Play Ottawa. |
08-04-22 | A's v. Angels UNDER 8.5 | 8-7 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 55 m | Show
Oakland stunned the Angels in game two of this set on Wednesday, winning as a +2.00 dog, 3-1. That snapped a 3-game losing streak by the A's. Today, they will send Paul Blackburn to the mound. Blackburn is 6-6 in his 20 starts with a 4.15 ERA. Surprisingly, he's much better on the road this year with a 5-1 record and 1.74 ERA in 12 away starts. The Angels will send Janson Junk to the hill, making just his second start of the season. Junk had a good first start, going five innings and allowing four hits and no runs to the Royals. He also had eight KO's and just one walk. I like both pitchers the way they have performed in their current situations. I'll take the UNDER. |
08-04-22 | Cubs v. Cardinals UNDER 7.5 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 5 h 46 m | Show
Game 1 of the Doubleheader has the Cubs taking on their rivals, St Louis. Their game on Wednesday was postponed as the Cubs change pitchers here in game one from Justin Steele to Marcus Stroman. Stroman is just 3-5 with a 3.99 ERA, however he's been exceptional of late. Stroman has allowed just two runs over his last four starts (20 2/3 innings). St Louis will stick with Wednesday's probable starter in Miles Mikolas. Mikolas is 8-8 in his 21 starts with a 2.86 ERA. He's been even better at home this season with a 4-2 mark in 10 starts and a 2.31 ERA. I look for this game one to go UNDER here Thursday. |
08-03-22 | Royals +136 v. White Sox | 1-4 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 28 m | Show
Kansas City and Chicago play the rubber game of this three game set. The teams have split the first two games with the Royals taking game one, 2-1 and the White Sox game two, 9-2. The Royals will send Brady Singer to the hill today. Singer is 4-3 in his 13 starts with a 3.42 ERA. He's been slightly better of late, posting a 3.05 ERA in his last seven starts. The White Sox have won three of their last four games. Lance Lynn starts tonight with a 1-4 record in his nine starts and a 6.42 ERA. Lynn has allowed four runs or more in four of his last five starts. I'll take a shot with the dog Royals here today at this nice price against a struggling Lynn. Play Kansas City. |
08-03-22 | Orioles v. Rangers -148 | 6-3 | Loss | -148 | 2 h 23 m | Show
The Baltimore Orioles looking for the three-game sweep here in Texas today. The O's won the first two of this series, 7-2 and 8-2. Kyle Bradish will get the start today with a 1-4 record in his 11 starts and a 7.01 ERA. He's been worse in his last seven starts with a 8.40 ERA. The Rangers will counter with Martin Perez. Perez is 9-2 with a 2.52 ERA in his 20 starts. Perez has allowed three total runs over his last three starts (19 innings). Perez and the Rangers a mid-size favorite here today, but I look for them to take this rubber game and salvage something from this series. Play Texas. |
08-03-22 | Mariners +156 v. Yankees | Top | 7-3 | Win | 156 | 3 h 32 m | Show |
The Seattle Mariners made a serious commitment to making the playoffs this year with the acquisition of the top pitcher in the trade market, Luis Castillo. The Mariners have made big strides, especially heading into the All-Star Break. They have won 18 of their last 24 games to 56-49 overall. While they likely won't catch Houston, they are a contender for one of the new Wild Card slots. Castillo makes his first start for the Mariners here today and it will be against the best team in the A.L, the NY Yankees. The Yankees will start Garrit Cole today. Cole is 9-3 in his 21 starts with a 3.30 ERA. He is coming off one of his poorer starts, going six innings and giving up seven hits and five runs to the Royals. I'm going to take a shot with a nice dog price on Seattle here today. The Yankees haven't seen Castillo and he might just shock them with a win. Play Seattle. |
08-02-22 | Dodgers v. Giants UNDER 8 | Top | 9-5 | Loss | -105 | 21 h 46 m | Show |
The Dodgers finally won a game this year at Oracle Stadium in San Francisco. They were 0-3 before their win on Monday, 8-2. The Dodgers lead the Padres in the NL West by 12-games. The Giants fell below the .500 mark with their loss. One of the stars of the starting staff starts tonight for the Dodgers in Tyler Anderson. Anderson is 10-1 in his 17 starts with a 2.64 ERA. He's been slightly better of late with a 2.28 ERA his last seven starts. He has also allowed more than one run in just one of his last five starts. The Giants have now lost seven of their 10 games to the Dodgers this year. Onetime Dodger Alex Wood starts tonight for the Giants. Wood is 7-8 in his 20 starts with a 4.11 ERA. HE's been slightly better at home with a 3.78 ERA. Wood has not allowed more than two runs but one time in his last five starts. I look for this to be a low scoring game here tonight. Take the UNDER. |
08-02-22 | Tigers +172 v. Twins | 5-3 | Win | 172 | 7 h 22 m | Show
The Detroit Tigers look to snap a 3-game losing streak here tonight as play game two of their series with the Twins. They lost on Monday to Minnesota, 3-5. Despite losing three in a row the bullpen has been excellent of late, posting a 1.61 ERA over their last seven games and 3.05 on the season. Matt Manning will make just his third start of the season and his first since April 16. Manning had a 2.25 ERA in his first two starts before being injured. The Twins now just 1-game ahead of the Guardians in the AL Central. Minnesota has lost four of their last five games. They turn to Chris Archer tonight. Archer is 2-5 in his 17 starts with a 4.04 ERA. I'm looking at Manning returning as making the Tigers a live dog here tonight. The price is right, come on down! |
08-02-22 | Diamondbacks v. Guardians UNDER 7.5 | 6-3 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 53 m | Show
Arizona looks to snap a 4-game losing streak here tonight as they play Cleveland. The Diamondbacks are coming off a loss to the Guardians last night, 5-6. The bullpen has been very good of late, posting a 1.73 ERA over their last seven games. Zac Gallen starts tonight with a 5-2 record in his 19 starts and a 3.32 ERA. Gallen has allowed just one run over his last two starts (12 innings). The Cleveland Guardians have won two straight and are hot on the heals of the Twins in the AL Central, just one-game back. Their bullpen has been equally impressive, posting a 0.95 ERA over the last seven games and a 3.43 overall ERA. Triston McKenzie starts for the Guardians with a 7-6 record in his 18 starts and a 3.16 ERA. He's been even better at home with a 3-1 record in six starts and a 2.89 ERA. I like this to be a low scoring game tonight. Take UNDER. |
08-01-22 | Mets -1.5 v. Nationals | 7-3 | Win | 100 | 17 h 28 m | Show
The Mets closed out their series with the Marlins with a win on Sunday, 9-3. The Win extended the Mets win streak to six games with the sweep of Miami. The Mets need every win as the Braves are hot on their heals just four games back in the NL East. The Mets will start Max Scherzer here on Monday. Scherzer is 6-2 on the season with a 2.09 ERA. He's been even better of late with a 2-1 mark in his last seven starts and a 1.40 ERA. Scherzer hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of his last seven starts. The Nationals lost two of their three games to St Louis after Sunday's setback, 0-5. Pat Corbin makes his 22nd start today. Corbin has had a rough season with a 4-14 record and 6.49 ERA. He's allowed at least five runs in each of his last three starts. The Mets need wins against teams like this to keep their lead in the division and with Scherzer on the hill I'll lay the Run line with New York. |
07-31-22 | Cubs v. Giants UNDER 7.5 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 17 h 57 m | Show
The Giants took Saturday's game with the Cubs, 5-4, holding off a 9th inning rally by Chicago as they got 3-runs but came up one run short. The Cubs bullpen has been great of late, posting a 1.61 ERA over their previous seven games. The will be in support of today's starter, Adrian Sampson. Sampson is 0-1 in his six starts with a 3.74 ERA. Sampson has allowed three runs or fewer in four straight starts. The Giants can get back to the .500 mark with a win today. San Francisco's offense scored their most runs on Saturday then they had in any of their previous eight games. Carlos Rondon will get the start today with a 8-6 record in 20 starts. Rondon has a 3.18 ERA and 2.05 home ERA. The Cubs have gone under in five of their last six games while the Giants have gone under in five of their last seven games. I stated the Giants scored more runs on Saturday then their previous eight games. The Giants are 2-10-1 O/U in their last 13 games when scoring five runs or more in their previous game. I'm taking this one UNDER on Sunday evening. |
07-31-22 | Rangers v. Angels -111 | Top | 5-2 | Loss | -111 | 14 h 55 m | Show |
The Angels with the big comeback win on Saturday. LA was down 7-5 going into the bottom of the 9th when they put a five spot on the board to win, 9-7. The Rangers had taken the first two games of this four-game set with LA, 7-2 and 2-0 before that bad loss on Saturday. Dane Dunning will look to get them back on the win track today. However, he's just 1-6 in his 19 starts with a 4.38 ERA. More important the Rangers are 0-10 in his 10 road starts. The Angels will counter with Reid Detmers today. Detmers is 3-3 in his 15 starts with a 3.84 ERA. He's been better of late with a 2.88 ERA over his last seven starts. He's also allowed just two earned runs over his last three starts (17 innings). I'll take the Angels here in the final game against a Rangers' pitcher that has yet to get a team win on the road. Take the Angels. |
07-31-22 | Mariners v. Astros UNDER 8.5 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 12 h 59 m | Show
Seattle took Saturday's game with the Astros, 5-4. That was their first win of the three in this four-game set. The M's lost 2-4 on Thursday and 1-11 on Friday before getting the Saturday win. George Kirby gets the start today for the M's with a 2-3 record in his 13 starts. Kirby has been slightly better on the road with a 2-1 record in five starts and a 2.67 ERA. Jake Odorizzi will start for the Astros. Odorizzi is 4-3 in his 11 starts with a 4.25 ERA. He's been better of late, going 3-1 in his last seven starts with a 3.55 ERA. The Mariners have gone under in seven of their last nine games against right handed starters. They are also 3-7 O/U in their last 10 overall games. Houston has gone under in six of their last eight home games. I'll go with the UNDER here in game four. |

Milwaukee extended their win streak to 3-games with their win over Boston on Friday, 4-1. The Brewers are maintaining their 3-game lead in the NL Central over St Louis. Eric Lauer gets the start today for the Brewers with a 6-3 record in his 18 starts and a 3.85 ERA. Boston can't seem to string any win's together, having lost eight of their last 10 games. Nick Pivetta will start today with a 8-7 record in his 20 starts and a 4.35 ERA. Pivetta has been a bit worse of late, posting a 2-2 record in his last seven games with a 6.00 ERA. I'm sticking with the 1st place Brewers here tonight with a slightly better starter on the hill. Play Milwaukee. |
07-29-22 | Cubs +125 v. Giants | 4-2 | Win | 125 | 18 h 33 m | Show
The Cubs and Giants play game two of their series here tonight in San Francisco. The Giants took the opener on Thursday, 4-2. That loss snapped a Cubs six-game win streak. During that win streak the Cubs allowed three runs or fewer in each contest. Marcus Stroman will start today for the Cubs. Troman is 2-5 in his 12 starts with a 4.38 ERA. He's been good on the road though, with a 2-2 record and 2.31 ERA. And overall his last seven starts he's posted a 3.82 ERA. The Giants playoff hopes drop each games as they now are below .500 at 49-50. Coming into this season it was the Giants bullpen that was one of the best in baseball. This season, horrible at 4.55 ERA. And last seven games, a 8.68 ERA. Alex Cobb starts for the Giants tonight with a 3-4 record and 4.62 ERA. Cobb allowed eight hits and four runs last time out to the Dodgers over 5 2/3 innings. Cubs a live dog here tonight, especially the way the Giants bullpen has performed lately. Take Chicago. |

07-29-22 | Twins v. Padres -110 | Top | 1-10 | Win | 100 | 17 h 57 m | Show |
Both these clubs had Thursday off to prepare for this InterLeague matchup in San Diego as the Padres host the Twins. The Twins lead the AL Central but that lead has dwindled to just 1.5 games over the Guardians. The Twins look to snap a two-game losing streak here tonight after being swept in Milwaukee. The Twins will start Joe Ryan here tonight, their pitcher with the most wins at 7-3. Ryan has a 2.89 ERA but has been slightly worse of late with a 2-1 record and 3.58 ERA over his last seven starts. The Padres hopes of a NL West title are fading as they are now 11.5-games back of the Dodgers in the NL West. The Padres still have to fight for one of the new Wild Card slots though. Blake Snell will start for the Padres tonight. Snell is 2-5 with a 4.74 ERA. He is coming off one of his best starts, allowing four hits and no runs over five innings to the Mets. I like the Padres as I hope Snell's last start is just an indication of what's to come for him. Play San Diego. |
07-29-22 | Rangers -102 v. Angels | 7-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 58 m | Show
The Texas Rangers snapped their three game losing streak with a win over the Angels in game one of their series on Thursday, 2-0. The Rangers and Angels now both near the bottom of the AL West, as only Oakland has a worse record. The Rangers best pitcher will start tonight in Martin Perez. Perez is 8-2 in his 19 starts with a 2.59 ERA. He's been slightly better on the road with a 4-0 record in nine starts and a 2.37 ERA. The Angels had won two straight games before their loss last night. The Angels have been in a bad stretch, going 5-15 in their last 20 games. Patrick Sandoval starts tonight with a 3-6 record in 16 starts and a 3.43 ERA. He's been slightly worse in recent starts, going 0-5 in his last seven outings with a 4.25 ERA. Hard to believe the Angels a slight favorite here tonight. Perez is excellent for the Rangers while Sandoval has been bad of late. Take Texas. |
07-29-22 | BC v. Saskatchewan | 32-17 | Win | 100 | 11 h 21 m | Show
Week 8 CFL action has the BC Lions playing at the Saskatchewan Rough Riders. BC is led by QB Rourke who has been one of the best QB's in the league. Rourke averages over 300 yards passing per week and a completion rate that is well above 70#. He also has 14 TD's and 6 INT's. Rourke should have a field day against this RoughRider team that has allowed 30 points or more in each of the last two games. The RoughRiders secondary has allowed the second most passing yards in the league (281) and the second most TD's. This BC team also has a solid defense that held Hamilton to just 12 points last week. I look for a BC win here tonight. |
07-29-22 | Brewers -158 v. Red Sox | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 14 h 27 m | Show
The Milwaukee Brewers had yesterday off while the Boston Red Sox beat the Guardians, 4-2. The Brewers are still in 1st place in the NL Central, but their lead has shrunk to just 3-games over St Louis. Milwaukee has won two straight games and five of their last six games. Brandon Woodruff will start tonight for the Brewers with a 8-3 record in his 14 starts and a 3.73 ERA. Woodruff has been very good in recent starts with a 4-1 record and 2.33 over his last seven outings. The Red Sox have struggled of late, losing two straight and seven of eight and 11 of 13. Brayan Bello will start for the Sox today. Bello is 0-2 in his three starts with a 10.50 ERA. Bello has gone four innings in each start and has allowed eight walks against just nine KO's. I'll be on the Brewers here today. |
07-29-22 | Mets v. Marlins +110 | 6-4 | Loss | -100 | 14 h 58 m | Show
The New York Mets have won three straight, including a 2-games sweep at Yankee Stadium over their cross-town rivals. The Mets hold a slim 3-game lead over the surging Atlanta Braves. Chris Bassitt starts today for the Mets with a 7-7 record in his 18 starts and a 3.63 ERA. Miami won at Cincinnati on Thursday, 7-6. The Marlins have alternated wins and losses their last seven games. Today their get their Ace on the hill in Sandy Alcantara. Alcantara is 9-4 in his 20 starts with a 1.81 ERA. He's been slightly better at home with a 1.66 ERA. Alcantara has allowed more than two earned runs in a start just twice in 20 starts. Hard to believe this guy is a home dog to a average Mets starter. I'll take this live dog with Miami today. |
07-28-22 | Mariners +125 v. Astros | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 11 m | Show |
The Seattle Mariners completed their 3-game sweep of the Texas Rangers with a win on Wednesday, 4-2. After that big 14-game win streak the club lost three straight and now has won three in a row. They will travel to Houston here tonight to start a 4-game series. They trail the Astros by 10-games in the AL West, but have a good shot at a Wild Card slot. Their top pitcher takes to the hill tonight in Logan Gilbert. Gilbert is 10-4 in his 20 starts with a 2.85 ERA. Gilbert has been slightly better on the road with a 6-1 record and 2.42 ERA. The Astros return home following a six game road trip that saw them lost all three at Oakland, two of those games as -2.00 favorites. Jose Urquidy will start today with a 9-4 record and 3.93 ERA. Urquidy has been very good for the Astros this year. This should be a very good pitching duel tonight but I'll take the dog price with the Mariners and their Ace on the hill. Play Seattle. |
07-27-22 | Cardinals v. Blue Jays -1.5 | 6-1 | Loss | -115 | 7 h 29 m | Show
The St Louis Cardinals have lost two straight games after dropping game one of this series with the Blue Jays on Tuesday, 3-10. The Cardinals have closed the gap on the Brewers in the NL Central, now back just 3-games. Adam Wainwright will start today for the red birds. Wainwright is 6-8 in his 19 starts with a 3.40 ERA. He's been a bit worse lately, going 1-4 in his last seven starts with a 4.36 ERA. The Blue Jays are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now, winning seven straight games. Still, they are really fighting for a AL Wild Card since they still trail the Yankees by 11.5-games. Kevin Gausman will get the start today for the Jays with a 7-7 record and 3.00 ERA. Gausman has allowed more than three runs only once in his 18 starts this year. I'll lay the Run line today with a very hot Jays team and Gausman. |
07-27-22 | Astros v. A's +185 | 2-4 | Win | 185 | 4 h 59 m | Show

Cristian Javier starts today for the Astros. Javier is 6-5 with a 3.62 ERA. The Oakland A's have had a rough season, however they have been decent of late. The A's are 5-1 over their last six games. They have also won four of the last five vs the Astros, three of those games as a +1.90, +1.82 and +2.30 dogs. Cole Irvin starts today with a 5-7 record in his 17 starts and a 2.99 ERA. He's been even better at home with a 3-2 record in nine starts and a 1.63 ERA. The A's have been beating the Astros as big dogs and I will take another shot with them here today. Play the Athletics. |
07-27-22 | Padres -135 v. Tigers | Top | 3-4 | Loss | -135 | 2 h 16 m | Show |
The San Diego Padres in a fight right now for a NL Wild Card, as they trail first place LA by 8.5-games in the West. The Padres snapped a two game losing streak with a win over the Tigers on Tuesday, 6-4. Today, they send one of their best pitchers to the hill in Yu Darvish. Darvish is 9-4 in his 18 starts with a 3.28 ERA. He's been even sharper in recent starts with a 4-1 record over his last seven starts and a 2.81 ERA. The Tigers won't be going anywhere this postseason. The Tigers have lost four of their last five games and eight of their last 10 games. Tarik Skubal gets the start today with a 7-8 record in 19 starts and a 3.71 ERA. Skubal has been a decent starter for the Tigers, but the Padres are one of the better road teams in baseball with a very good pitcher on the hill. Your play is on the San Diego Padres. |

07-26-22 | Angels v. Royals -118 | Top | 6-0 | Loss | -118 | 18 h 20 m | Show |
The Kansas City Royals took game one of their series with the Angels on Monday, 7-1. The Angels just can't seem to put back-to-back wins together. The last time the Angels won two in a row you have to go back to June 26 and 27 vs Seattle. The loss on Monday was the club's 6th in their last seven games and and 15th in their last 18 games. Jose Suarez will start today for the Angels as he's looking for his first win in 10 starts. Suarez is 0-4 with a 6.34 ERA and 1.644 WHIP. The Royals win on Monday was their third in a row. Angel Zerpa will make just his second start of the season here tonight. Zerpa is 1-0 and went five innings for the win vs the Blue Jays in his first start. He also gave up just four hits and one run in the win. The Angels have been horrible and they have a bad pitcher on the mound. I'll take a shot with Zerpa here tonight and the Royals. |

07-26-22 | Rays v. Orioles UNDER 8 | 3-5 | Push | 0 | 17 h 14 m | Show
Tampa Bay and Baltimore play game two of their series here tonight. The Orioles took game one on Monday, 5-1. Tampa has dropped to third in the AL East, 1/2-game back of the Blue Jays. Shane McClanahan has been the best Rays pitcher all season with a 10-3 record in his 18 starts and a 1.71 ERA. McClanahan has not allowed more than two runs in his lat 13 starts. In fact, you have to go back to the opening month of the for the last time and that was only three runs. After that long win streak of 10 games, the O's are 3-4 in their last seven games. Spenser Watkins will start today for the O's. Watkins is 3-1 in his 12 starts with a 3.93 ERA. Watkins has been hot, allowing one run or no runs in each of his last four starts. Two excellent pitchers here today, I'll take the UNDER. |

07-25-22 | Angels v. Royals -105 | 0-7 | Win | 100 | 9 h 32 m | Show
The Angels snapped their five game losing streak by salvaging the final game of their three game set with the Braves, 9-1. Still, the Halos are just 2-10 their last 12 games. Noah Syndergaard will toe the rubber today for the Angels with a 5-7 record in his 14 starts and a 4.00 ERA. Syndergaard is slightly worse on the road with a 5.96 ERA and 1-5 record. The Royals won their second straight game on Sunday over Tampa Bay, 4-2. The Royals are just 38-57 overall on the season and well back in the AL Central. Veteran Zack Greinke gets the start today with his 3-6 record and 4.63 ERA. Greinke has been really good at home though, with a 3-1 record in his seven games and a 1.86 ERA. I'll take the Royals here tonight against a very poor Angels team. |

07-25-22 | Guardians +100 v. Red Sox | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 32 m | Show |
The Cleveland Guardians trying to make up ground on the Minnesota Twins in the AL Central. The Guardians are 48-46 and trail 1st place Minnesota by 3-games. However, losing two straight games doesn't help close that gap. Cleveland split their four game series with the White Sox, taking the first two and losing the last two. Zach Plesac will start for the Guardians tonight. Plesac is 2-7 in his 17 starts with a 3.93 ERA. Plesac has not allowed over three runs in any of his last nine starts. The Red Sox bring a five-game losing streak into today's contest. The Sox lost two of three to the Yankees and then got swept over the weekend by the Blue Jays, getting outscored 10-40 by Toronto. Nick Pivetta will start tonight for the Sox. Pivetta is 8-7 in his 19 starts with a 4.50- ERA. He's coming off two bad starts where he allowed 13 runs over 7 2/3 innings. I'll take the road team here as the Sox look to be in a free fall. Play Cleveland. |

07-24-22 | Astros v. Mariners UNDER 7 | 8-5 | Loss | -105 | 3 h 27 m | Show
Houston Astros look to win their fifth in a row here today in Seattle. Seattle was one of the hottest teams in baseball until they met Houston. The Astros have taken the first two of this three game series. Framber Valdez will start Sunday's contest with a 8-4 record in his 18 starts anda 2.66 ERA. His road ERA has been very good at 1.86 in 11 starts. Seattle will try and salvage one game of this series with Robbie Ray on the hill. Ray is 8-6 in his 19 starts with a 3.54 ERA. His home ERA has been a very nice 2.25 ERA. Both pitchers are excellent and with that I'm just be on the UNDER here today. |

07-24-22 | Blue Jays -139 v. Red Sox | Top | 8-4 | Win | 100 | 13 h 54 m | Show |
Toronto and Boston conclude their series here on Sunday and the Blue Jays looking for the sweep after taking Saturday's contest, 4-1. That makes four wins in a row for Toronto and six of their last seven games. While the Jays have little shot of catching the Yankees in the AL East, they can still garner one of the Wild Cards slots in a newly revamped Wild Card playoff postseason. This year they play the best of three Wild Card round games instead of the one and done format of previous years. Ross Stripling will start for the Jays today with a 4-3 record in his 13 starts and a 2.84 ERA. Stripling has allowed two runs or fewer in seven of his last eight starts. He also has a 2.41 ERA over his last seven starts. Boston is seeing their postseason aspirations dwindle as they have lost three straight games and seven of their last eight. Brayan Bello will start today for the Sox with a 0-1 record after two starts. Bello has a 10.13 ERA and has yet to make it past four innings of work. The Jays are hot, they have a hot pitcher on the hill and the Red Sox are struggling. This will have me on Toronto again here on Sunday. Play Toronto. |

07-23-22 | Sparks +9.5 v. Aces | 66-84 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 18 m | Show
The LA Sparks currently sit in 6th place in the WNBA with a 12-14 record. They have won two straight games, beating the Fever 86-79 and then the Dream last game, 85-78. These teams met not long ago with the Aces winning 79-73. As for the Aces, they were in first place a good part of the season, but have since dropped to 2nd with a 19-8 record. Las Vegas has been inconsistent of late, losing three of four games before getting back on track and winning three straight. They have split their last two games, losing at home to the Atlanta Dream as a double digit favorite, 76-92. That has been an issue for this team, their inconsistent play. So laying these kinds of points as they are tonight is difficult to do. I'll take the points with the Sparks. Play LA |

07-23-22 | Nationals v. Diamondbacks -148 | 2-7 | Win | 100 | 8 h 58 m | Show
The Washington Nationals play game two out West vs the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight. Washington lost game one on Fridayy, 1-10. That was their 10th loss in their last 11 games and 18th in their last 20 games. Anibal Sanchez makes just his second start since Sept 26, 2020 here tonight. Sanchez sat out all of last season and the first half of this season. Arizona has won two straight including last night's contest over the Nats. Madison Bumgarner will toe the rubber tonight for the D'backs. Bumgarner is 5-9 this season with a 3.83 ERA. He's been slightly better at home with a 3.15 ERA in 10 starts. I'm going to take Arizona tonight since who knows how Sanchez will perform. And he likely won't be around long in either case. Take Arizona. |
