But, the Rockies have trouble winning games when (Tyler Anderson 0-2, 11.34 ERA) starts going 5-12 un his last 17 home starts. Chicago Cubs at Seattle 6:40 ET Cubs over Mariners- A pair of clubs that are trending in opposite directions as Chicago have won 10 of the last 13 while Seattle is 2-9 in their last 11 home games. Last night 'we' used the Cubs as our 'Highest-Rated' Megabucks winner and with Jon Lester (1-1, 2.37 ERA) on the hill tonight the visitor is favored. That should come as a surprise as Marco Gonzales (5-0, 2.80) has allowed fewer than three runs if four of his five starts. Lester is 6-4 with a 3.27 ERA in 13 career starts against the Mariners and Seattle is 5-17 in their last 22 inter-league games. Take CHICAGO CUBS |

A pair of the best hurlers in the 'Bigs' as future Hall of Fame righty 'King' Felix Hernandez (1-2, 3.91 ERA) who is facing the Cubs for just the third time in his career without a decision. Pittsburgh at Texas 8:00 ET Pirates over Rangers- A week ago it was reported that the division leading Pirates had the NL's best ERA and were thinking that the clubs was going to be in contention for a wild card spot. Well, what a difference a week can make as Pittsburgh has dropped eight straight games and have fallen two games under .500. Texas who is 10-4 at home will start Adrian Sampson (0-1, 4.50 ERA) who has yet to post a MLB victory is 12 career starts. 04-30-19 | Padres -103 v. Braves | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 18 m | Show
San Diego at Atlanta 7:20 ET Padres over Braves- Both these clubs have a number of what many consider the future superstars in baseball and San Diego has added the young Fernando Tatis Jr. to go along with Manny Machado while Atlanta just locked-up Ozzie Albies for seven years. The Padres will start Chris Paddack (1-1, 1.67 ERA) who has been outstanding allowing just 10 hits in 27 innings of work but has received just 2.6 runs of support per start. This is a tough go for San Diego as they are just 6-20 in their last 26 in Atlanta. Still, Paddack will be the difference. Take the PADRES! |
04-28-19 | Padres -102 v. Nationals | 6-7 | Loss | -102 | 4 h 30 m | Show
San Diego at Washington 1:35 ET Padres over Nationals- Talk about streaks in baseball the Padres have been the posted boy for our cause. San Diego has a four-game winning streak before losing six straight and have now won their last five. Washington meanwhile has lost their last three and six of their last eight while fallen 3-games under the breakeven mark. The Pods will start Joey Lucchesi (3-0, 4.33 ERA) who has made one career start against the Nats and tossed five scoreless innings. Jeremy Hellickson (2-0, 4.34) has had huge support getting 9.7 runs per start. Well, not today. Take SAN DIEGO! |
04-28-19 | Brewers v. Mets -122 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 3 h 12 m | Show |
Milwaukee at New York Mets 1:10 ET Mets over Brewers- The Mets have now dropped three straight and are at 13-13 on the season and have yet to establish any consistency. Milwaukee has been up and down and streaking all season with most of the winning coming at home. The Brewers will start Gio Gonzalez who makes his 2019 debut who closed the 2018 season with Milwaukee going 3-0 with a 2.13 ERA down the stretch. So, it seems strange that no one would play Gonzalez who the Yankees has designated to Triple-A ball. Steve Matz (2-1, 4.03 ERA) get the nod for New York and he is 3-1 with a 3.33 ERA lifetime against the Brewers. Take the METS! |
04-28-19 | Rays v. Red Sox -149 | 5-2 | Loss | -149 | 3 h 4 m | Show
Tampa Bay at Boston 1:05 ET Red Sox over Rays- At five-game under .500 the Red Sox are already a minus -15.75 units at 1.00 per game as the World Series hangover continues. Today this is sort of an East meets West type of thing where one who is expected to be the league's best is winless as Boston's Chris Sale is 0-4, 7.34 ERA in five starts while the Rays Tyler Glasnow (4-0, 1.53) who has already matched his career total of wins (four) this season. It's turn0around time between this two and the Sox get the best of it today. Take BOSTON! |

Chicago Cubs at Arizona 8:10 ET Cubs over Diamondbacks- Arizona has been a bit of a surprise to date and have won five-in-a-row and 10 of their last 12 while the Cubs have dropped their last two games but are 7-3 in their last 10 outings. The D'backs will start Zack Godley (1-1, 6.67 ERA) who has alternated good and bad starts and he is 1-2 with a 5.14 ERA in four career starts against Chicago. The Cubs will start struggling veteran Yu Darvish (1-3, 5.96) who has shown to be one of the worst free agent signing since the Yankees got Jacob Ellsbury who is just 2-6 with a 5.31 ERA since joining the club. This time it's CHICAGO! |
04-27-19 | Yankees v. Giants -107 | 6-4 | Loss | -107 | 6 h 48 m | Show
New York Yankees at San Francisco 4:05 ET Giants over Yankees- The Yankees and Giants are meeting in San Francisco for the first time since 2007 for a three-game set with New York taking the first contest 7-3 last night. The Yankees will start JA. Happ (0-2, 5.96 ERA) who while pitching for the Phillies is 1-4 with a 4.80 ERA against the Giants including 1-3 in SF. The Jints will start Derek Holland (1-4, 4.33) has had a nightmare career against New York going 1-7 with a 6.38 ERA in 11 career starts while pitching for the Rangers and White Sox. This time out he gets the ring...take SAN FRANCISCO! |

The Rays will start veteran Charlie Morton (2-0, 3.38 ERA) who has gotten better in the latter part of his career and is 3-1 but with a 5.06 ERA lifetime against the Red Sox. Boston will start David Price (1-1, 3.75) who is 10-0 in his last 14 starts at home with a 2.30 ERA and a 0.93 WHIP. Price made five starts against his former team last year and was 2-1 with a 2.20 ERA. Take BOSTON! |
04-26-19 | Brewers v. Mets -175 | 10-2 | Loss | -175 | 10 h 51 m | Show
Milwaukee at New York Mets 7:10 ET Mets over Brewers- Current Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom (2-2, 3.68 ERA) returns from the IL after a tender elbow kept him away from two starts. DeGrom opened the season with a pair six inning shutout performances before getting rocked his next two starts then going on the IL for 10 days. Milwaukee will start Chase Anderson (2-0, 3.00) who was 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA against the Mets last season while deGrom is 3-2 against the Brewers in seven career starts. Milwaukee has lost four straight and seven of eight and will go under .500 tonight. Take the NEW YORK METS! |
04-26-19 | Rockies v. Braves -160 | 8-4 | Loss | -160 | 7 h 11 m | Show
Colorado at Atlanta 7:20 ET Braves over Rockies- The Rockies got off to a slow start batting just .208 their first 12 games and have caught life by winning 8-of-10 after having lost eight straight and 13-of-14. Colorado will start Antonio Senzatela (1-1, 3.55 ERA) and will be making his third start while Atlanta starter Max Fried (2-0, 1.38) has been outstanding in four starts. Fried has allowed just 20 hits in 26 innings and leads the majors in ERA and is tied for first in the NL in wins. He adds to that total tonight. Take ATLANTA! |
04-26-19 | A's v. Blue Jays -124 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 1 m | Show
Oakland at Toronto 7:07 ET Blue Jays over A's- My good buddy Jerry who knows his baseball as well as anybody is from the Bay area and is a huge A's fan and tell me that Mike Fiers (2-2, 8.28 ERA) stinks. I said well, maybe he has a grudge against Fiers until I checked his stats and Jerry is right...he stinks! Allowing 33 hits in just 25 innings and a WHIP of 1.72 which is atrocious. After all that Oakland is 11-4 in his last 15 starts. Toronto will start Marcus Stroman (1-3, 1.76) who has surrendered 26 hits in 31 innings with very little support from his team mates scoring 2.2 runs per start. He is still looking for his first win over the A's and is 0-2 with a 1.08 ERA in three starts. Tonight he gets the win here. Take TORONTO! |
04-25-19 | Yankees v. Angels -106 | Top | 5-11 | Win | 100 | 10 h 22 m | Show |
New York Yankees at L.A. Angels 9:07 ET Angels over Yankees- 'Break-up the Yankees'...the cry of the also-rans during the 1950's as they dominated baseball with nine World Series appears in 10 years. Currently, the Yankees are 'all broke up' as they have 13 players on the IL including seven All-stars. But, that isn't keeping New York from winning as they are at a season high six-game winning streak and have won eight of their last nine. Tonight the Yanks will start Masahiro Tanaka (2-1, 2.76 ERA) and he is perfect against the Angels 3-0 with a 1.59 ERA in six career starts. LA will start their ace Trevor Cahill (1-2, 5.47) who has struggled against New York going 1-4 with a 10.09 ERA in seven career appearances against NY. Yet, well, like I said at the top, these Yankees are all 'broke up' and are not the same club. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-25-19 | Braves v. Reds -131 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 51 m | Show
Atlanta at Cincinnati 6:40 ET Reds over Braves- The Reds have split the first two games of this series and are lucky at that when we see that they have left 18 runners on base. Cincinnati who is 6-6 at home this season carry the lowest MLB batting average at .199 and yet come up the favorite here because of starter Luis Castillo (2-1, 1.47 ERA) who has the second lowest ERA among starters in the NL and has allowed only one earned run in each of his four starts. Atlanta will start Julio Teheran (2-2, 5.61) who is 3-3 with a 3.95 ERA against the Reds but did not face them last season. Take CINCINNATI! |
04-25-19 | Dodgers -102 v. Cubs | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 3 h 27 m | Show
L.A. Dodgers at Chicago Cubs 2:20 ET Dodgers over Cubs- It seems an bit strange to me that the Dodgers are favored here which means that Chicago ace Jon Lester (1-0, 2.57 ERA) a home underdog. (now, that just doesn't make sense) Los Angeles has lost seven of 13 on the road while the Cubs are 7-3 at home and the Dodgers are favored against Chicago's best hurler. LA will start Ross Stripling (1-1, 3.07) who is 0-1 with a 2.12 ERA against the Cubs in five games while Lester is 4-3 with a 3.35 ERA in nine career starts against the Dodgers. The 'numbers' just don't seem 'right.' Take the DODGERS! |
04-24-19 | Phillies v. Mets +115 | Top | 6-0 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 21 m | Show |
Philadelphia at New York Mets 7:10 Mets over Phillies- This one is a tough one for me on so many levels as I really don't like the starter that I'm going to back and 'like' the pitcher that I'm paying against. My issues start with New York Jason Vargas (1-0, 9.58 ERA) who has been totally ineffective as a Mets after having a career year in Kansas City. I 'saw' Vargas up close and personal in spring training and I believe that I could be a career .300 hitter against the garbage he was tossing up. This season he has already surrendered 17 hits in 10 innings on the season. Philadelphia will start Vince Velasquez (0-0, 2.55) allowing just 13 hits in 18 innings but has had little run support 2.7 per game. But, here it comes there's always a 'but'...Velasquez is 1-4 lifetime against the Mets with a 4.58 ERA in eight starts while Vargas is 2-0 with a 3.86 ERA over the Phillies. Take the NEW YORK METS! |
04-24-19 | Braves v. Reds +113 | 3-1 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 45 m | Show
Atlanta at Cincinnati 6:40 ET Reds over Braves- Having posted the Reds yesterday (7-6 win) makes today's play a lot easier and after we win this tomorrow's will be that much sweeter! Cincinnati will start Tanner Roark (1-0, 3.60 ERA) and has had four quality starts for his 'new' club after seven years with Washington and is 8-5 with a 3.09 ERA lifetime against the Braves. Atlanta will start Mike Soroka (0-1. 1.80) and he is 2-2 with a 3.23 ERA in six career starts and get lit-up on the road today. Take the REDLEGS (No more...it's the REDS!) |
04-24-19 | Mariners v. Padres -165 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 6 h 41 m | Show
Seattle at San Diego 3:40 ET Padres over Mariners- When teams turn streaks around it comes so sudden that it can pass you bye if you don't respond quickly enough. So, look what happens here the Mariners entered this series winning three straight after losing nine straight after going 13-2 while the Padres entered losing six straight after losing five straight and have now won two in-a-row. Seattle will start former Super-star 'King' Felix Hernandez (1-1, 4.91 ERA) and the now aging righty is taking his lumps having surrendered 25 hits in 18 innings while mound opponent for San Diego will be Chris Paddack (0-1, 2.25) who is so due to win but has had little run support at 2.5 per game. Paddack has surrendered just SEVEN its in 15 innings in his last three starts and has an 0.80 WHIP on the season. Take SAN DIEGO! |
04-23-19 | Mariners v. Padres -130 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 11 h 30 m | Show
Seattle at San Diego 10:10 ET Padres over Mariners- Both of these clubs were off of quick starts as the Mariners were 13-2 but have dropped seven of 10 since while San Diego was 11-5 and now have lost six of their last seven. Seattle who is 11-2 on the road have set an MLB record with 55 homers in their first 25 games and will be starting Erik Swanson (0-1, 3.38 ERA) who was acquired in the Jim Paxton trade with the Yankees. After allowing just one run in each of his first three starts Padres hurler Nick Margevicius (1-2, 3.60) who received just 2.77 runs of support but has allowed just 16 hits in 20 innings with a WHIP of 0.90. Take SAN DIEGO! |
04-23-19 | Phillies v. Mets -127 | Top | 0-9 | Win | 100 | 9 h 37 m | Show |
Philadelphia at New York Mets 7:10 ET Mets over Phillies- A pair of 'sad Zac's' will pitch for both squads as the Phillies will send Zach Eflin (2-2, 3.68 ERA) to the hill while New York will send Zack Wheeler (1-2, 6.35) to the mound. Despite the difference in ERA it could be argued that Wheeler has thrown better allowing just 21 hits in 22.2 innings while Eflin has surrendered 26 hits in 22 innings and is 2-3 with a 5.25 ERA in seven starts against the Mets. Wheelers has had three straight quality starts and is 4-2 with a 3.67 ERA lifetime against Philadelphia. Take the METS! |
04-23-19 | Braves v. Reds +102 | 6-7 | Win | 102 | 8 h 3 m | Show
Atlanta at Cincinnati 6:40 ET Reds over Braves- This is rare, when both starting pitchers enter this game with ERA's under 3.0. Atlanta Kevin Gausman (1-1, 2.75 ERA) is making his fourth start and has surrendered just nine hits in 19.2 innings with a WHIP of 0.76. Cincinnati will start Sonny Gray (0-3, 2.79) who is very unlucky at 0-3 as he is getting just 1.8 runs of support while allowing just 12 hits in 19.1 innings. Oddly enough the Reds are allowing just 2.90 runs per game at home. Take CINCINNATI! |
04-22-19 | Yankees v. Angels -105 | 4-3 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 52 m | Show
New York Yankees at LA Angels 10:07 ET Angels over Yankees- Seven of the 13 Yankees that have been placed on the IL are All-stars and that to me is a bit much to overcome. New York will start J.A. Happ (0-2, 7.23 ERA) has pitched into the fifth inning once in his four starts and is 2-6 with a 5.57 ERA in eight career starts against the Angels. Another transferred starter looking for his first win for a new team Matt Harvey (0-2) gets the nod for Los Angeles. The Angels are 7-4 at home this season and 13-5 in their last 18 overall and are playing their best ball at home. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-22-19 | Phillies v. Mets -110 | Top | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 51 m | Show |
Philadelphia at New York Mets 7:10 ET Mets over Phillies- Despite Sunday's beating I really have confidence in 'our' strongest play today as the Mets host Philadelphia at Citi Field. Okay here's the deal, Steven Matz (1-1, 4.96 ERA) was having a great spring until he ran into this Philly lineup last Tuesday surrendering eight runs without recording an out (6 earned) allowing all eight batter to reach base. This exact situation presented itself to 'us' last week between the Dodgers and Brewers and it was an easy Megabucks winner, I expect the same here. Philadelphia is just 3-7 in their last 10 in New York. Although, the Mets have dropped six of eight they return to start a 10-game home stand. Look for the Mets and Matz to bounce back here in a BIG way. Take NEW YORK! |
04-22-19 | Nationals v. Rockies -116 | 5-7 | Win | 100 | 8 h 45 m | Show
Washington at Colorado 8:40 ET Rockies over Nationals- The Rockies have won six of their last seven after having gone 1-12 in their previous 13 games. Like I have said before winning in baseball is playing the streaks both winning and losing on and against is ket to a great season. Washington bailed out with a 5-0 win in their final of a 3-game set at the Marlins but have dropped five of their last nine. The Nationals will start Jeremy Hellickson (2-0, 2.63 ERA) has been effective but with huge support getting 12 runs per start. The Rockies will counter with Tyler Anderson (0-2, 11.00) who has been rocked for 18 hits in nine innings but he is 1-0 with a 2.50 ERA lifetime against the Nats and happens to be pitching for the 'hot' team. Take COLORADO! |
04-21-19 | Diamondbacks +104 v. Cubs | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 25 m | Show |
Arizona at Chicago Cubs 2:20 ET Diamondbacks over Cubs- Arizona will start Robbie Ray (0-1, 4.64 ERA) who is winless in four start despite allowing three hits or less in each of his first three outings. The D'backs broke the Cubs four-game winning streak Saturday holding the inconsistent Cubs to four hits three of which were singles. Ray is 1-1 with a 1.88 ERA against Chicago while the 'Baby Bears' will give Tyler Chatwood (0-0, 6.00) who is 5-3 with a 4.37 ERA against Arizona his first start of the season and he is not expected to go deep into this fray. Take the DIAMONDBACKS! |
04-21-19 | Red Sox v. Rays -108 | 4-3 | Loss | -108 | 3 h 11 m | Show
Boston at Tampa Bay 2:10 ET Rays over Red Sox- A bit of memory lane here today as the Rays former No. 1 pick in 2007 David Price (1-1, 3/79 ERA) will now be hurling for the Red Sox against his former club. Tampa Bay will start Tyler Glasnow (4-0, 1.13) who has allowed two or fewer runs in all four of this years starts. Boston has struggled away from Fenway Park as they are 5-10 on the road while the Rays are 46-19 in their last 65 home games. Take the RAYS! |
04-21-19 | Dodgers v. Brewers +113 | 6-5 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 8 m | Show
L.A. Dodgers at Milwaukee 2:10 ET Brewers over Dodgers- I am having difficulty getting past the fact that on the first day of spring training after being idle for five month the Dodgers said that Clayton Kershaw (0-0, 2.57 ERA) had a tired arm. In a schedule that begs for answers this is the seventh and final meeting between these two for the season and they are tied a 3-3. Milwaukee who will start hard throwing Brandon Woodruff (2-1, 5.23) who has fanned 17 Dodgers in just 9.1 innings of work. Take MILWAUKEE! |
04-20-19 | Mariners v. Angels -129 | 6-5 | Loss | -129 | 10 h 17 m | Show
Seattle at L.A. Angels 9:07 ET Angles over Mariners- Seattle who leads the AL in home runs with 49 have now won 11 of 12 on the road and will face LA's Trevor Cahill (1-1, 4.50 ERA) who has served up five homers in 22 innings after surrendering only eight all last season. The Mariners took the first two games of this series and are now 11-1 on the road and will send Yusei Kikuchi (0-1, 4.23) to the hill against the Angels who are still 6-3 at home after the pair of losses to the Mariners. Mike Trout can be a one-man team but he can lead LA to a win tonight. Take the ANGELS! |

Cincinnati at San Diego 8:40 ET Reds over Padres- Cincinnati started the season with seven losses in their first seven road games but have managed a pair of wins in San Diego and come up a slight favorite here. The Padres have now dropped five straight and will be sending Eric Lauer (2-2, 4.91 ERA) to the mound and he will be opposed by Luis Castillo (1-1, 1.46) who has 32 strikeouts in 24.2 innings of work this season but is just 0-2 with a 5.17 ERA in three career starts against San Diego. |||||||
04-18-19 | Blue Jays v. Twins -172 | 7-4 | Loss | -172 | 2 h 8 m | Show
Toronto at Minnesota 1:00 ET Twins over Blue Jays- Both of these starting pitchers once played for the 'big boys' in the AL as Michael Pineda (2-0, 3.00 ERA) was supposed to be a Yankees mainstay and Clay Buchholtz (0-0, 1.50) who three a no-hitter when with the Red Sox. Both have thrown well this year as Pineda has put together three quality starts and Buchholtz has allowed just one run in six innings of work. 04-17-19 | Astros v. A's -109 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 39 m | Show |
Houston at Oakland 10:05 A's over Astros- 'We' have been riding Houston for the most part during their 10-game winning streak but things look a bit different to me today. To start with they come up an underdog in this contest against Oakland who has lost their last two including a 9-1 loss yesterday to the Astros and have lost five straight to in this series. Tonight, Houston's Wade Miley (1-1, 3.45 ERA) is 5-1 with a 1.40 ERA lifetime against the A's including 5.2 innings of shutout ball in early April is an underdog. Oakland will start Frankie Montas (2-1, 3.18) who is 1-2 with a 5.89 ERA against Houston and yet he is favored here. Take OAKLAND! |

Cleveland at Seattle 6:40 ET Indians over Mariners- Since starting the season 13-2 including a nine-game winning streak the Mariners have now lost five straight including the last two to the Indians. Cleveland will start Carlos Carrasco (1-2, 12.60 ERA) who has surrendered 22 hits in just 10 innings of work and yet the oddsmakers have made his the favorite. He surrendered six runs and six hits in 2/3 of an inning last time out against Kansas City but is 4-3 with a 4.10 ERA in eight starts against the Mariners. Seattle will start Erick Swanson (0-0, 9.00) who is making his first MLB career start will endure the loss. Take CLEVELAND! |
04-17-19 | Mets +106 v. Phillies | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 33 m | Show
New York Mets at Philadelphia 1:05 ET Mets over Phillies- Although the Phillies crushed the Mets on Tuesday it was just their seventh win in the last 28 meetings against New York. The Mets will start Zack Wheeler (1-1, 7.46 ERA) who is 4-1 with a 3.36 ERA against the Phillies including 3-0 at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies will start ace Jake Arrieta (2-1, 2.25) who is just 2-3 with a 2.34 ERA in 10 career starts against the Mets. The price on the home team is very short and the Mets have a chance to continue their dominance over the 'Wiz Kids.' Take the METS! |
04-16-19 | Indians -111 v. Mariners | Top | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 26 m | Show |
Cleveland at Seattle 10:10 ET Indians over Mariners- Seattle started the season in Japan and continued their road trip and returned home 13-2, since then they have lost four straight. Tonight, the Mariners will start veteran thief Mike Leake (2-0, 4.15 ERA) who has had plenty of support in his starts with the Mariners averaging 7.3 runs in his three starts. But, Leake has surrendered 21 hits in 17 innings (well above the norm) and has been hit hard. The Indians will start Shane Bieber (1-0, 1.80) who has been virtually un-hittable allowing just seven hits in 15 innings. Bieber is 8-0 with a 3.25 ERA on the road and gets the win here. Take CLEVELAND! |
04-16-19 | Cardinals +109 v. Brewers | 4-8 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 50 m | Show
St. Louis at Milwaukee 7:40 ET Cardinals over Brewers- Well, if the Cardinals expect to win at game in Milwaukee they will have to figure out how to keep Christian Yelich from hitting the ball out of the park. Last night Yelich hit three homers and had seven RBI's in the Brewers 10-7 victory. Tonight, St. Louis will try and cool the Brewers bats with Jack Flaherty (1-0, 2.93 ERA) who is 1-1 lifetime against the Brew Crew but is coming off of an outstanding effort allowing one run and just three hits against the Dodgers. Brandon Woodruff (1-1, 6.00) who throws hard but doesn't have the command needed against a team like the Cardinals. Take ST. LOUIS! |
04-16-19 | Red Sox v. Yankees -108 | 0-8 | Win | 100 | 8 h 55 m | Show
Boston at New York 6:35 ET Yankees over Red Sox- Baseball's greatest rivalry gets underway for the 2019 season as the struggling World Champion Red Sox come into Yankee Stadium. These two are expected to battle it out for the AL East title and both are having difficulty getting into the win column. Boston has won just six of 17 games after starting the year 2-9 on a West coast road trip while New York has won six of 15. The Yankees have 12 guys on the DL but won 6-of-9 at home against Boston last season. Chris Sale (0-3, 9:00 ERA) has surrendered 12 runs in 12 innings and just hasn't shown his 'stuff; yet this season. New York will start James Paxton (1-2, 6:00) who is 2-0 with a 2.49 ERA lifetime against the Sox. Take the YANKEES! |
04-15-19 | Indians -106 v. Mariners | Top | 6-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 41 m | Show |
Cleveland at Seattle 10:10 ET Indians over Mariners- Seattle was cruising along at 13-2 when they returned home after an extended road trip where they won six straight haven't won since. The Mariners were swept by Houston in their three-game set and now face one of the league's toughest hurlers. It hasn't been that much better for Cleveland as they have dropped three straight themselves at Kansas City. The Indians Trevor Bauer (1-1, 2.29 ERA) will get the start and he has been un-hittable allowing just 11 hits in 20 innings with 24 strikeouts and has a WHIP of 0.97. Seattle will start Yusei Kikuchi (0-0, 4.15) and he left his last outing because of leg cramps. Still it's about Bauer...take CLEVELAND! |
04-15-19 | Royals v. White Sox -121 | 4-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 19 m | Show
Kansas City at Chicago White Sox 8:10 ET White Sox over Royals- Kansas City is coming off of a three-game home sweep of the Indians after having lost 10 straight and now take to the road where they are 0-3. Chicago doesn't get much of an advantage as they are 1-5 at home surrendering 8.83 runs as hosts. The Royals will start Heath Fillmyer (0-0, 15.00 ERA) who was rocked by Seattle for five runs and six hits in three innings. Chicago will start Ervin Santana (0-1, 17.18) who missed the entire 2018 season will help put the White Sox in the win column. Take CHICAGO! |
04-15-19 | Blue Jays v. Twins -133 | 5-3 | Loss | -133 | 8 h 12 m | Show
Toronto at Minnesota 7:40 ET Twins over Blue Jays- Toronto has five wins in 16 games and three of those victories belong to Matt Shoemaker (3-0, 0.92 ERA) who has worked 19.2 innings while surrendering just nine hits while striking out 19 (pretty impressive). Minnesota will give Martin Perez his first start fo the season as weather has hampered the Twins start in the early going. The Blue Jays are just 1-5 on the road and have lost four straight against the Twins and are 8-20 in their last 28 road games. Minnesota is 19-7 overall in their last 26 games...take the TWINS! |
04-14-19 | Astros -166 v. Mariners | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 5 h 24 m | Show
Houston at Seattle 4:10 ET Astros over Mariners- Seattle returned home 13-2 and opened up this 3-game series as an underdog and promptly lost game one and as an underdog lost yesterday and as an underdog should lose once again. Houston has won eight straight and will make it nine in-a-row with Gerrit Cole (0-2, 3.32 ERA) on the mound for the Astros and he is 2-2 with a 2.31 ERA in five starts against the Mariners. Seattle will start Marco Gonzales (4-0, 3.16) who is 0-2 with a ERA of 11.42 against the Astros. Houston is just too much for Seattle right now...take the ASTROS! |
04-14-19 | Padres v. Diamondbacks -126 | 4-8 | Win | 100 | 5 h 18 m | Show
San Diego at Arizona 4:10 ET Diamondbacks over Padres- It appears that roles have been reversed here as San Diego now looks like a contender and Arizona an also-ran. Both these clubs are on four-game streak with the Padres winners and the D'backs losers. But, today Zack Greinke (1-1, 7.16 ERA) takes the hill and although he hasn't been sharp this season he holds a 12-2 lifetime against Arizona with a 2.29 ERA in 23 career starts. His mound opponent will be Eric Lauer (2-1, 4.76) who has been banged around in his three starts allowing nine runs in 17 innings. Take ARIZONA! |
04-14-19 | Cardinals v. Reds +107 | 9-5 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 13 m | Show
St. Louis at Cincinnati 4:10 ET Reds over Cardinals- After an eight game losing streak the Reds have won four straight and host St. Louis in Monterrey, Mexico. The Cardinals will start Miles Mikolas (1-1, 6.19 ERA) who was 2-0 with a 2.50 ERA against the Reds last season and will be opposed by Anthony DeSclafani (0-1, 6.75) who was battered in his last start but is 5-2 lifetime against the Cardinals. Take Cincinnati to continue their hot steak...take the REDS! |
04-13-19 | Indians v. Royals +103 | 0-3 | Win | 103 | 8 h 15 m | Show
Cleveland at Kansas City 7:15 ET Royals over Indians- The Royals ended a 10-game losing streak Friday night with an 8-1 win over the Indians and manager Ned Yost expects a fast turn-around. Cleveland who just doesn't 'look' the same to me will bring up Jefry Rodriguez form the minors to start tonight. Rodriguez was 3-3 with a 5.71 ERA in 14 games with the Nationals last season. Homer Bailey who lost his last 10 decisions spent 12 seasons with the Reds gets the nod for the Royals tonight. He is 3-4 lifetime against the Indians and gets to even his career record here. Take KANSAS CITY! |
04-13-19 | Cardinals v. Reds +107 | 2-5 | Win | 107 | 8 h 4 m | Show
St. Louis at Cincinnati 7:10 ET Reds over Cardinals- Cincinnati enters Monterrey Mexico on a three-game winning streak taking out Miami 21-1 in the last three games. They will start Tanner Roark (0-0, 5.79 ERA) who started the past six seasons with Washington. St. Louis will start veteran Adam Wainwright (1-0, 4.50) who had only seven starts last season and has missed two full seasons in the last four years. Wainwright is 9-11 with a 5.09 ERA lifetime against the Reds as the Cardinals have won five in-a-row after sweeping the Dodgers in a four-game series. Take CINCINNATI! |
04-13-19 | Pirates +108 v. Nationals | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 10 m | Show
Pittsburgh at Washington 4:05 ET Pirates over Nationals- Washington as expected fell short last night against the Pirates after winning a pair of 'revenge' games over Philadelphia. (The whole Harper deal) Pittsburgh will start the much over-rated Chris Archer (1-0, 2.45 ERA) who is pitching while appealing his five-game suspension. Having spent his career with Tampa Bay Archer is just 1-1 with a 2.45 ERA in a pair of starts against the Nats. Anibal Sanchez (0-1, 6.52) is 3-5 with a 3.45 ERA in nine starts against Pittsburgh but has been hit hard in his work so far this season. Take PITTSBURGH! |
04-12-19 | Rockies v. Giants -134 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 12 h 24 m | Show
Colorado at San Francisco 10:15 ET Giants over Rockies- Rockies have lost five straight and nine of 10 and are at 3-9 while San Francisco is 4-9 including 2-4 at home. Coming out of the Cactus League Colorado had four of the the top 10 hitters and they all went cold when the team moved north, as a matter of fact they have yet to win at home going 0-5. The Giants are an awful mess and have lost eight of their last 10 at home while the Rockies are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings. Both starters have had issues with Colorado's Chad Bettis (0-2, 11.88 ERA) getting rocked for 14 hits and 11 runs in eight innings. Drew Pomeranz (0-1, 4.00) hasn't had much support in his pair of starts but that changes today. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
04-12-19 | Astros -138 v. Mariners | 10-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 10 m | Show
Houston at Seattle 10:10 ET Astros over Mariners- These clubs enter this fray with six game winning streaks as Houston just swept the A's and Yankees in a pair of three-game sets at Minute Maid park. Seattle with the best record in baseball (13-2) just swept a pair three-game sets at the White Sox and Kansas City scoring 54 runs. So, when I look at this line with Houston favored on the road I become a little skeptical about why the Mariners are an underdog here. Wade LeBlanc (2-0, 4.76 ERA) is very capable. For the Astros it will be Wade Miley (1-1, 2.31) and he is the better of the two Wades! I'll be selective with the trends and will say Houston is 19-7 in their last 26 trips to Seattle. Take HOUSTON! |
04-12-19 | Mets v. Braves -105 | Top | 6-2 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 25 m | Show |
New York Mets at Atlanta 7:20 ET Braves over Mets- A pair of huge trends go head-to-head as the Mets invade Atlanta to face the red hot Braves. Atlanta has won their last three and will be sending Kyle Wright to the mound and the Braves are 0-6 in his six starts since his arrival in September but they have provided him with just 11 runs of support in six games. The Mets will start another of their 'great' pitching prospects as Zack Wheeler (0-2, 10.24 ERA) takes the hill. Zack had a great spring but faced the Nationals twice and was lucky to come away with just one loss as New York lost both of his starts. Atlanta is much better at home going 11-2 in their last 13 while New York still have problems with the Braves going 5-12 in the last 17 meetings and Braves are 7-1 in last eight overall. I don't care who pitches for the Braves, it won't matter! Take ATLANTA! |
04-12-19 | Angels v. Cubs -147 | Top | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 5 h 32 m | Show |
L.A. Angels at Chicago Cubs 2:20 ET Cubs over Angels- I still contend that one of the best ways to win handicapping baseball is to ride the winning streaks and play 'against' when teams are on losing streaks. Okay, that being said I just want to note that Los Angeles somehow has won six in-a-row the last two without Mike Trout. But, they key factor is that they were all at home. Now, the Angels on the road are bedeviled going 1-5 and are 1-10 in their last 11 road games overall. The Cubs started poorly losing seven of nine on the road and now return home and look to return the favor to a west coast team that is playing 11 AM their time. Chicago has won the last four meetings. Take the CUBS! |
04-11-19 | Pirates v. Cubs -128 | Top | 0-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 2 m | Show |
Pittsburgh at Chicago Cubs 8:05 ET Cubs over Pirates- The Cubs slow start (3-8) has some in the Windy City grumbling about Joe Madden and his future. Imagine that...the guy that led them to their only World Series win in 111 years. Chicago's offense has been spotty so far and their pitching has been hit hard with Yu Darish and Jon Lester ailing. Pittsburgh will start Joe Musgrove (1-0. 0.00 ERA) who dominated in his lone start against Cincinnati and is 2-1 with a 1.80 ERA against the Cubs with both wins coming last season. Chicago will start Jose Quintana (0-1, 10.29) was blasted in his lone start last Friday against Milwaukee but is 1-1 with a 2.89 ERA in five appearances against the Pirates. Add that the Cubs are 17-6 in Quintana's 23 home starts. Take CHICAGO! |
04-10-19 | Dodgers v. Cardinals -102 | 2-7 | Win | 100 | 9 h 18 m | Show
LA Dodgers at St. Louis 7:45 ET Cardinals over Dodgers- The Cardinals have taken the first two of a four-game series and have moved about .500 for the first time this season. The power hitting Dodgers are just 3-8 in their last 11 meetings against St. Louis and will start Kenta Maeda (2-0, 3:09 ERA) did not make a start against the 'Red Birds' last season but is 2-0 with a 4.19 ERA in six appearances. St. Louis is start Jack Flaherty (0-0, 3.86) and his is 0-1 with a 1.50 ERA against LA in 12 innings of career work. Stay with the streaks wining and losing...take ST. LOUIS! |
04-10-19 | Yankees v. Astros -110 | 6-8 | Win | 100 | 9 h 8 m | Show
N.Y. Yankees at Houston 7:40 ET Astros over Yankees- The Yankees have been beset with a plethora of injuries affecting their starting pitching, bullpen and position players as well. Seven of New York's top 12 players are on the DL as they put out a make shift line-up night after night. Houston who has always given the Yankees fits are 5-0 at home and 9-3 versus the Bombers at minute Maid Park where the Astros are 18-6 in their last 24 games as hosts. James Paxton (1-1, 4.09 ERA) get the start for New York and he is 7-3 lifetime against Houston including 4-1 with a 3.18 ERA at Houston. Still, it's the ASTROS! |
04-10-19 | Padres v. Giants -102 | 3-1 | Loss | -102 | 5 h 22 m | Show
San Diego at San Francisco 3:45 ET Giants over Padres- A pair of the NL's younger future stars Nick Margevicius (0-1, 1.80 ERA) of the Padres and the Giants Dereck Rodriguez (son of Pudge) who is 1-1 with a 5.23 ERA. These two faced-off on March 30 when the Giants prevailed 3-2 as Margevicius allowed just one run and hit in five innings while Rodriguez is 1-0 with a 1.89 ERA in three career starts against San Diego. The Giants have scored just five runs in D-Rods two starts but have picked up their scoring with five and seven runs on their past two games. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
04-09-19 | Brewers v. Angels +121 | 8-11 | Win | 121 | 9 h 8 m | Show
Milwaukee at L.A. Angels 10:05 ET Angels over Brewers- The Angels aside from Mike Trout are having problems scoring runs but were able to supply homers form three other players in their win over Milwaukee last night. Tonight Matt Harvey (0-1, 9.00 ERA) will one again attempt to win his first game as an AL starter and begin a new chapter in his career. The Brewers will go with second year starter Freddy Peralta (1-0, 3.27) who will try and contain Mike Trout and the rest of the Angels who are 4-1 at home. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-09-19 | Padres v. Giants +113 | 2-7 | Win | 113 | 9 h 42 m | Show
San Diego at San Francisco 9:45 ET Giants over Padres- it appears that the roles of these two teams have switched as it is now the Padres who have the upper hand starting the season 7-4 while San Francisco is 3-8 and have lost their last two. San Diego will start Joey Lucchesi (2-0, 0.00 ERA) who has yet to allow a run and only seven hits in 10.1 innings. The Giants will counter with Derek Holland (0-1, 5.00) who has surrendered just seven hits in nine innings and struck out seven Dodgers in a 5-inning no decision. The issue here is that the Padres are 3-11 in Lucchesi's 14 starts against the NL West. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
04-09-19 | Mariners v. Royals +101 | 6-3 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 20 m | Show
Seattle at Kansas City 8:15 ET Royals over Mariners- 'Break-up the Mariners'...32 home runs is their first 12 games including five yesterday against the Royals has Seattle at the top of the AL West at 10-2. Kansas City has dropped seven straight after winning their first two games of the season and will start hard throwing Jakob Junis (1-0, 4.63 ERA) who posted a win his his lone home start against the white Sox. The Mariners will send Marco Gonzales (3-0, 3.20) to the hill and has three starts against the Royals going 1-1 with a 5.87 ERA. This time it's KANSAS CITY! |
04-08-19 | Brewers v. Angels -101 | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 11 h 42 m | Show
Milwaukee at LA Angels 10:05 ET Angels over Brewers- Milwaukee is off to a quick start (8-2) on the season and will have their most effective hurler to date as Jhoulys Chacin (2-0, 4.22 ERA) takes the hill. The Brewers have had MVP Christian Yelich get off to a fast start leading the way hitting .361 with five homers and 13 RBI's. LA has had their superstar Mike Trout lead the way of late hitting five homers in the past five games with seven walks. Trevor Cahill (0-1, 3.75) gets the nod for Los Angeles and he is 1-0 with a 2.29 ERA lifetime against Milwaukee. Take the ANGELS! |
04-08-19 | Mariners v. Royals +106 | 13-5 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 46 m | Show
Seattle at Kansas City 8:15 ET Royals over Mariners- Streaks are a key to winning baseball during the long season and are a strong factor in turning a profit. Kansas City has dropped six straight after opening the season with a pair of wins over the White Sox and have also dropped their last five meetings against Seattle. The Mariners will start 'King' Felix Hernandez (1-0, 1.69 ERA) who is off of the worst season of his career (8-14, 5.06 ERA) while going 2-0 against the Royals last year. Kansas City returns home after getting swept at Minnesota (0-2) and Detroit (0-3) and will start Homer Bailey (yes THAT Homer Bailey) who was traded to KC after his dismal stint in Cincinnati where he was 1-14 with a 6.09 ERA in 20 starts for the Reds in 2018. Maybe getting out of that bandbox will help in pitcher friendly Kauffman Stadium where the Royals won their first two games. Take KANSAS CITY! |

04-08-19 | Dodgers v. Cardinals +104 | 3-4 | Win | 104 | 8 h 11 m | Show
L.A. Dodgers at St. Louis 7:45 ET Cardinals over Dodgers- The Dodgers have won five straight being led by Cody Bellinger who has a 10-game hitting streak to start the season with seven home runs and 18 RBI's to go along with a .455 batting average. Los Angeles will start Hyun-Jin Ryu (2-0, 2.08 ERA) who and just 15 starts last season due to injury and is 1-2 lifetime against the Cardinals. St. Louis will start Miles Mikolas (0-1, 7.20) who will try and contain LA's power attack. Milkolas doesn't give up the long ball. Take ST. LOUIS! |
04-07-19 | Mariners v. White Sox -105 | 12-5 | Loss | -105 | 2 h 8 m | Show
Seattle at Chicago WS 2:00 ET White Sox over Mariners- Seattle is off to a fantastic 8-2 start and lead the Majors with 24 homers in their 10 games homering at least in each contest. Today, the Mariners will start Wade LeBlanc (1-0, 6.75 ERA) who was racked for six runs and seven hits in his lone start against Boston while Chicago's Ivan Nova (0-0, 1.29) gets the nod for the Pale Hose. Nova went seven innings in his first start allowing just one run and goes against for Chicago who is 45-20 in the last 65 meetings vs. the Mariners at home. Take WHILE SOX! |
04-06-19 | Dodgers v. Rockies +115 | 7-2 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 31 m | Show
L.A. Dodgers at Colorado 8:10 ET Rockies over Dodgers- The powerful Dodgers who lead the majors in home runs with 21 led by Cody Bellinger who has 16 with 16 RBI's in just eight games. Los Angeles will start hard throwing Walker Buehler who the Dodgers babied so much during spring training that he wasn't ready when he got his first start and lasted just three innings allowing five earned runs. Colorado had three players hit over 400 during the spring and they all started the season slowly. Look for the Rockies to take advantage of their home field and get the win here. Take the ROCKIES! |
04-06-19 | Cubs v. Brewers -121 | 14-8 | Loss | -121 | 8 h 26 m | Show
Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee 7:10 ET Brewers over Cubs- When you're 'hot' you're 'hot' and when you're not you're not. Milwaukee is hot winning six straight and seven of eight so far this season while Chicago has lost six straight and is 1-6 on the season. The Cubs have opened the season on the road and have yet to play a game in the Windy City as pitching has been their biggest issue. Chi-town hurlers have surrendered 55 runs in those six loses an average over nine runs per contest and playing in Milwaukee won't help improve those numbers. Chicago's Cole Hamels was rocked in his first start and I won't be surprised if it happens here. Take the BREWERS! |
04-06-19 | Nationals -130 v. Mets | 5-6 | Loss | -130 | 3 h 34 m | Show
Washington at New York Mets 1:10 ET Nationals over Mets- No Bryce Harper, no Daniel Murphy and no Trea Turner at shortstop...no matter cuz Washington will beat-up Mets hurler Steven Metz. Although the Nationals have been hit with defections they have enough left to handle this imposter squad from Gotham. Normally when I hear Gotham I think of the Giants or Yankees because the Mets are really nothing more then an also ran in New York. Anyway, the Mets are 5-2 on the season but Washington is 11-5 in their last 16 road games and 53-21 over the Mets in the last 74 meetings in New York. Take WASHINGTON! |
04-05-19 | Rangers v. Angels -114 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 58 m | Show
Texas at L.A. Angels 10:05 ET Angels over Rangers- It is said that the 'third time is a charm' and 'we' will find out tonight as the Angles host Texas after having lost five straight. But, this is 'our' third attempt to win with Los Angeles. This Angels line-up other than Mike Trout is weak and I expect them to have a long season without much offensive punch but each game is it's own entity. Texas has won three straight and five of their last six while the Angels have dropped five straight and will have Felix Pena on the hill and he is 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA against the Rangers as LA won both starts. Lance Lynn has struggled since coming to the AL and is 0-1, 5.40 ERA against the Angels. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-04-19 | Cubs v. Braves -114 | 4-9 | Win | 100 | 8 h 28 m | Show
Chicago at Atlanta 7:20 ET Braves over Cubs- After an opening day win the Cubs have dropped four straight and are beginning to become concerned about their sluggish start as their pitching has allowed 33 runs in their last four games. One of the Cubs concerns is Yu Darvish (0-0, 10.13 ERA) who surrendered seven walks, in 2 2/3 innings and was 0-1 with a 5.19 ERA against Atlanta last season. After opening the season with three straight losses to Philadelphia, the Braves has come back with a pair of wins and even their record tonight. Take ATLANTA! |
04-03-19 | Cardinals v. Pirates -104 | 5-4 | Loss | -104 | 6 h 15 m | Show
St. Louis at Pittsburgh 7:05 ET Pirates over Cardinals- The last time I tried this the Pirates blew a 4-0 7th inning lead and folded in extra-innings 6-5 to the Cardinals late surge against the Pittsburgh relief pitching. I have always been a St. Louis baseball fan and not just because I lover their 'uniforms' because of the way they have played the game over the years. Truly a fundamentally sound team that has taken on a different dimension. St. Louis has struck out a NL worst 64 times registering at least 10 strikeouts in all five games and are up against a nemesis from last season. The Pirates' Jameson Taillon had three starts against the Cards last season and was 2-0 with a 2.11 ERA. Take PITTSBURGH! |
04-01-19 | Angels -109 v. Mariners | Top | 3-6 | Loss | -109 | 10 h 9 m | Show |
LA Angels at Seattle 10:10 ET Angels over Mariners- It is a shame that Seattle who is now 5-1 after having their way with the A's in Japan and in near sweep of the World Champion Red Sox and now will have all that momentum halted with the dethroned 'King Felix' Hernandez takes the mound. Chris Stratton starts for the Angels and spent the entire spring with the Giants and will be facing Seattle for the first time. Hernandez's slip is slowing as he was 0-8 with a 6.34 ERA in this last 11 starts in 2018. It may get better (how could it not) but not enough. Take LOS ANGELES ANGELS! |
04-01-19 | Cardinals v. Pirates -120 | 6-5 | Loss | -120 | 3 h 40 m | Show
St. Louis at Pittsburgh 1:05 ET Pirates over Cardinals- St. Louis who has finished ahead of Pittsburgh in the standings for 19 consecutive seasons but have started this season 1-3 while the Pirates split their two-game series in Cincinnati and will have Chris Archer on the mound and he will be opposed by Adam Wainwright who made only eight starts last season and is on the downside of his career. Archer came over to Pittsburgh at the end of last season and was 2-1 with a 2.07 ERA in September. Take the PIRATES! |
03-30-19 | Angels +105 v. A's | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 17 m | Show
LA Angels at Oakland 9:00 ET Angels over A's- Well, at least we no long have to worry about the Angels going scoreless this season as they final got on the board in the eighth inning of their second game of the year after getting shutout in their opener. LA finally came to life as Mike Trout recorded two RBI along with Andrelton Simmons. Felix Pena gets the start for the Angels while Brett Anderson (who had an excellent spring) will take the hill for the A's. Tonight the Angels get it done again. Take LOS ANGELES ANGLES! |
03-29-19 | Cardinals v. Brewers -104 | 9-5 | Loss | -104 | 8 h 55 m | Show
St. Louis at Milwaukee 8:10 ET Brewers over Cardinals- Milwaukee is off to a great start with their stars leading the way as MVP Christian Yelich blasting a 3-run homer and Lorenzo Cain making a game saving catch robbing the Cardinals. The Brewers are 'geared-up' for the season and will be starting second year righty Freddy Peralta (6-4, 4.25 ERA) who was outstanding in that Miller Park hitters park going 4-1 with a 2.73 ERA holding opponents batting average to .123. Jack Flaherty who has a bright future for the Cardinals just get caught here by a highly motivated club. Take the BREWERS! |
03-28-19 | Pirates v. Reds -115 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 18 h 43 m | Show
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati 4:10 ET Reds over Pirates- Hey it's the 'new' look Reds with a fresh face David Bell as manager, Yasiel Puig and Joey Votto (no homers hit under .200 in spring) showing the way for the young talent. Cincinnati has finished last the past four seasons and are looking toward getting to the 500 mark for the first time in six years. Losing Scooter Gennett for the early part of the season won't help but it is spring and hope is in the air. Luis Castillo a veteran that is thrilled to be an Opening Day pitcher in Cincinnati in the country's National Pastime. Take CINCINNATI! |
10-28-18 | Red Sox v. Dodgers -133 | 5-1 | Loss | -133 | 10 h 46 m | Show
Boston at Los Angeles 8:15 ET Dodgers over Red Sox- A pair of much milined front line hurlers with weak post season records will face off in Game 5 as David Price takes the hill for Boston and Clayton Kershaw for the Dodgers. The playoff history of both these pitchers leaves much to be desired but Kershaw has had two great starts at home this post season but was roughed up in Boston. Los Angeles should have their power hitter back in the line-up unless of course Dave Roberts decides once again to sit 126 homers on the bench. Take LOS ANGELES! |
10-26-18 | Red Sox +145 v. Dodgers | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 29 h 48 m | Show |
Boston at L.A. Dodgers 8:05 ET Red Sox over Dodgers- I am having difficulty digesting the fact that for the first two games of the World Series one manager out-smarted everyone by taking 126 homers out of the line-up because of percentages. This is a team like the Yankees that is power driven (long ball) and are not built for the playoffs where pitching and defense are the most important factors. Listen all, I am a New Yorker and of course would love to see 'any' team from Boston lose...but, from start to finish this season they have been the best and have shown it in the playoffs and World Series , there is no reason to thing they wilL stop, the Dodgers have been exposed and the Red Sox are just the all-around better team . Take BOSTON! |
10-24-18 | Dodgers v. Red Sox -138 | Top | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 7 h 57 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at Boston 8:05 ET Red Sox over Dodgers- Okay, we are all aware of David Price's record in post-season action (1-9 as a starter) but, I believe he has turned the corner after his last and most successful outings. This Dodgers are playing for the first time at Fenway Park and will be starting Hyun-Jin Ryu who has come-on later in the season. But, the Red Sox are better balanced and move up 2-0 in the series. Take BOSTON! |
10-23-18 | Dodgers v. Red Sox -143 | Top | 4-8 | Win | 100 | 10 h 55 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at Boston 8:09 ET Red Sox over Dodgers- When baseball people would talk about World Series droughts the Red Sox were always at the top of the list along with the Chicago Cubs. Bit, Boston ended that 1919 wayback win by getting a title in 2004 and two others since while the Dodgers haven't cashed in last in 1988 (Kurt Gibson the hero). Clayton Kershaw who is making his first start in Fenway Park seems to have broken his post-season hex with performances in the NLCS against the Brewers but he just doesn't have the same 'stuff' on the mound. Chris Sale starts for Boston, is healthy and ready to go in Game One. Take BOSTON! |
10-20-18 | Dodgers -110 v. Brewers | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 45 m | Show
L.A. Dodgers and Milwaukee 8:40 ET Dodgers over Brewers- Okay down to game Seven as it should be and the visitor is favored over the home team and the team with the best record in the NL. That's because hard throwing Walker Buehler (0-1, 6.75 ERA) is taking the hill for Los Angeles. Buehler was knocked around in his start in Game 3 but comes up the favorite here. Take LOS ANGELES! |
10-19-18 | Dodgers -104 v. Brewers | Top | 2-7 | Loss | -104 | 10 h 20 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers and Milwaukee 8:40 ET Dodgers over Brewers- The 'Book' sez...we are supposed to be on the Brewers and for a few reasons. First, they are in a must win situation, second they are at home because they won more games than anyone else in the NL. So, why is Milwaukee a team that is 54-31 at home an underdog here? Maybe they think Greg Counsell's antics have run there course or that Christian Yelich (3-20, .150) like some many other stars after great regular season's just don't deliver in the post season. Hyun-Jin Ryu (1-0, 1.59 ERA) starts for LA while it doesn't matter who starts for Milwaukee if the ever get the lead. The 'numbers' don't lie...take LOS ANGELES! |
10-18-18 | Red Sox v. Astros -183 | Top | 4-1 | Loss | -183 | 8 h 50 m | Show |
Boston at Houston 8:09 ET Red Sox over Astros- I've seen enough. Having to watch the Astros go down the way they did last night left me thinking that there is no way the Red Sox are going to lose. They have done it all season winning 108 regular season games with the player that had the best all-round season Mookie Betts leading the way as he did last night. The pressure in all on Houston and they just can't match what the Sawx have here, last year was theirs this year it's Boston. Take the RED SOX! |
10-17-18 | Red Sox v. Astros -142 | Top | 8-6 | Loss | -142 | 10 h 19 m | Show |
Boston at Houston 8:39 ET Astros over Red Sox- After a loss in Game 1 of this series the Red Sox of this have bounced back with a pair of wins as their bats have come alive. Boston will start Rick Porcello (18-7, 4.18 ERA) who pitched an inning of relief in Game 2 and has a post season win against the Yankees. Houston will start Charlie Morton (15-3, 3.13) who is making his first post season start for a club that is 7-1 after a loss and 25-8 in their last 33 overall. Take HOUSTON! |
10-16-18 | Brewers v. Dodgers -147 | Top | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 49 m | Show |
Milwaukee at L.A. Dodgers 9:05 ET Dodgers over Brewers- The Brewers (+) provided a huge underdog win for 'us' last night despite the efforts of the in-over-his-head manager Greg Council who is getting as bone-headed as the Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. Bringing pitchers in for no reason other then to be seen on National TV has been Council's trait and Robert leaves pitcher in to hit in late innings trailing with tying runners on base. Tonight, LA goes with veteran Rick Hill who went 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 12 innings against the Brewers this summer. Take the DODGERS! |
10-15-18 | Brewers +166 v. Dodgers | 4-0 | Win | 166 | 9 h 7 m | Show
Milwaukee at LA Dodgers 7:35 ET Brewers over Dodgers- Well, from what I've seen in the two game played between these two so far I believe that Greg Council (Brewers Manager) is in over his head. His 'panic' started in Game One when with a lead he decides to throw the AL 's top reliever for three inning thus taking him out of Game 2 before it even starts. Then in Game 2 Council has to show that he is a 'big league' manager by taking out his started Miley while in the mist of a six inning shutout.so, of course his relievers surrender runs and them when crunch time came he had to use Jeremy Jeffress who just doesn't cut it. Still, they will rebound here. Take MILWAUKEE! |
10-14-18 | Astros v. Red Sox +115 | Top | 5-7 | Win | 115 | 9 h 53 m | Show |
Houston at Boston 7:10 ET Red Sox over Astros- so here he is...the $250,000,000 man starting for the Red Sox with an 0-9 career playoff record with a 6.03 ERA. I am of course referring to David Price who gets the start for Boston today. Houston will go with Gerrit Cole (1-0, 1.29 ERA) has 12 strikeouts in seven innings in his first post season start and was 1-0 with a 3.46 ERA against Boston this season. Still, the Sox can't afford to go down 0-2 at home. Take BOSTON! |
10-13-18 | Astros v. Red Sox -111 | Top | 7-2 | Loss | -111 | 10 h 19 m | Show |
Houston at Boston 8:09 ET Red Sox over Astros- As a former New York Yankees' season ticket holder you have no idea how much this selection hurts me. Having to take the Red Sox pains me until I get the final score and 'collect.' Justin Verlander (1-0, 3.38 ERA) worked five hitless innings against Cleveland in the opening of the Division series and will up against an equally impressive playoff performer Chris Sale (1-0, 2.84) who struck-out eight in 5.1 innings in his playoffs action against the Yankees. Look I hate to do it but 'Beantown' is the side. Take BOSTON! |
10-09-18 | Red Sox v. Yankees -117 | Top | 4-3 | Loss | -117 | 9 h 7 m | Show |
Boston at New York Yankees 8:05 ET Yankees over Red Sox- Boston showed the Yankees and the rest of the AL why and how they won 108 regular season games Monday. The Red Sox have one of the best balanced lineup in baseball and will send native New Yorker Rick Porcello (17-7, 4.38 ERA) who was 2-0 with a 2.31 ERA against New York this season but is 0-3 with a 5.33 ERA in 12 post-season starts. CC Sabathia (10-6, 4.20) is 8-3 with a 3.26 ERA in 18 postseason appearances including 6-0 with a 3.32 ERA in ALDS starts. Add that the Yankees are 7-1 on their last eight home playoff games. Take the YANKEES! |
10-08-18 | Astros v. Indians -122 | Top | 11-3 | Loss | -122 | 19 h 47 m | Show |
Houston at Cleveland 1:30 ET Indians over Astros- Unlike the Rockies I expect the Indians to return home and get some base hits, especially against the one pitcher who has had an off-season for Houston. Dallas Keuchel (12-11,3.74 ERA) finished the regular season going 1-1 with a 5.76 ERA and struggled against the Indians this summer surrendering six runs in 11 innings. Cleveland will start Mike Clevinger (13-8, 3.02) who did finish strong going 6-1 with a 2.17 ERA in 11 starts. AT home he have been great at hoe going 7-3 with a 3.14 ERA in 17 starts. Take the INDIANS! |
10-07-18 | Brewers v. Rockies -152 | Top | 6-0 | Loss | -152 | 6 h 7 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Colorado 4:37 ET Rockies over Brewers- Milwaukee is on a streak in the playoffs that only a few have enjoyed as they have posted 10 straight wins going back to the regular season and can move to the Championship series with a win today. Colorado has hate to play four games against three different teams in three different cities in five days, now they return home where they play better as their batting averages climb. German Marquez (14-11, 377 ERA) get the start for the home clubs and he has been outstanding striking out 230 in less then 200 innings and has not allowed more then three runs in any of his last 13 starts. Take COLORADO! |
10-06-18 | Yankees v. Red Sox -108 | 6-2 | Loss | -108 | 10 h 55 m | Show
New York Yankees at Boston 8:15 ET Red Sox over Yankees- I don't know if this is a result of the zig-zag theory (My friend Larry Ness like this one) where and just take the team to win that lost their previous game. This is for playoffs and works best in basketball to the best of my knowledge. Growing up around the Yankees you might expect me to knee jerk my selection and take New York. They have had their way against David Price as he is 0-3 with a 10.43 ERA against the Yankees this season and 0-8 in nine playoff starts. If these stats weren't so ugly I'd have Boston on top, but as it is...take the RED SOX! |
10-06-18 | Indians +138 v. Astros | Top | 1-3 | Loss | -100 | 17 h 60 m | Show |
Cleveland at Houston 4:30 ET Indians over Astros- Cleveland is the dark horse in the AL and their Game 1 performance had them playing the part losing meekly 7-2 against the Astros losing to their best Juston Verlander. Today they will start Carlos Carrasco (17-10, 3.38 ERA) who closed the season with an impressive outing against Kansas City after three previous losses while Houston will counter with Gerrit Cole (15-5, 2.81) who won his last five regular season appearances. The Indians have lost four straight road playoff games but are 27-13 in the last 40 meetings. Take CLEVELAND! |
