Rating: 3 Unit ACC Play of the Day The lack of depth, exacerbated by the continued absence of forward Dewan Hernandez due to eligibility issues, figures to be problematic for the Hurricanes throughout the entire rugged ACC slate - beginning against a Wolfpack team getting hefty contributions from its deep, talented bench, with every player on the roster scoring in double digits in at least one game. Ten Wolfpack are in the rotation and average at least 12.6 minutes per game compared with just seven for Miami and N.C. State is using that depth to bring in fresh subs to play tenacious defense for coach Kevin Keatts and the result has been a 3-1 mark against Power 5 teams, including a 78-71 triumph over then-No. 7 Auburn. The Wolfpack bench has scored at least 40 points in six games, including a school-record 62 in a recent win over South Carolina Upstate, and the team as a whole is averaging 89.4 points per game (tied for sixth best in the nation), nearly 12 points better than Miami (77.6), which has been held below 76 in five of the last six games.

Nebraska's five starters are averaging between 8.1 and 18.7 PPG, led by James Palmer Jr. Despite the team's poor start, Oklahoma St is shooting a Big 12-best 41.6 percent from three-point range to rank 11th in Division I .The good news is, OSU’s Curtis Jones (an Indiana transfer) is now eligible but expect it to take some time for him to mesh with the other starter. Rating: 2 Units Wichita State will face its toughest challenge of the season Saturday when it takes on Oklahoma at Chesapeake Energy Arena - the home of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder. This Wichita State team will look considerably different than the one the Sooners played a season ago, as senior Samajae Haynes-Jones is the lone Shocker on the roster that participated in the 91-83 Oklahoma win last December. Oklahoma’s balanced offensive attack has seen at least three players score in double figures in each of its seven wins this season, but only senior Christian James is averaging more than 10 points per game as he enters Friday leading the Big 12 with 19.9 points per game. James helped the Sooners get past Notre Dame 85-80 in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.

They're off to another fast start this season, with their only loss to Central Florida. Cincinnati also has one loss in its opener against No. 17 Ohio State. This game falls on the Bearcats' schedule between a 65-61 road win Saturday at UNLV and the annual Crosstown Shootout on Saturday against Xavier.

Rating: 2 Units The Hoyas have been so-so so far, but they do have a road win over Illinois. What can be said is that Georgetown has been better than Richmond. The Spiders have lost three straight games, including a home loss to Hampton. Nick Sherod is out for the season with a torn ACL and the team does not have a clear replacement for the 12.7-point scorer. Jessie Govan was held to 14 points and six rebounds in the win at Richmond last season. He will be tasked with slowing down Grant Golden, and the senior Hoyas should succeed.

Rating: 2 Units Through six games, the Rams have had five different players lead the team in scoring. This speaks to their depth, which helps when a team is playing at altitude. The guard tandem of Anthony Bonner and J.D. Paige will give the Salukis headaches from the perimeter and Nico Carvacho can clean up messes. Southern Illinois has three losses already and senior guard Marcus Bartley is hitting an unsustainable 60.7% of his 3-pointers.

Rating: 3 Unit NCAAB Play of the Day Even with Mike Watkins (personal) returning to the Nittany Lion lineup for at least limited minutes, the Hokies are a tough match up. Virginia Tech has some size in Kerry Blackshear, but the perimeter is loaded and feisty. Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Justin Robinson and Ahmed Hill are hitting at least 40% of their 3-pointers and Hill is knocking down 56% of his long-range shots. This is the Hokies’ first road test and it will help to have an experienced crew heading to College Station.

Delaware had its four-game winning streak snapped: two of those wins were against non-Division I competition and two were on the road. Blue Hen big man Eric Carter is arguably the best player on both teams and will bounce back from a 14-point outing against UNCG. The Bulldogs have been slowed by a not fully healthy DaQuan Bracey.

Rating: 2 Units Seton Hall has looked darn good in wins against Grand Canyon and Hawaii. Of course, you’ll remember that they were trounced by 23 points at Nebraska and lost 66-64 to Saint Louis, home. That makes them 0-2 SU and ATS vs. higher-conference programs that haven’t been to many NCAA Tournaments recently. More like, none in the last four years, and Nebraska has one NCAA appearance since anyone can remember. Miami plays in the ACC and they’ve been to a bunch of NCAA Tournaments recently.
