Another loss on Tuesday for the Pirates resulted in their fourth consecutive loss. They’ve now lost nine of their last eleven games. Wednesday the Pirates will call upon Joe Musgrove whom will be getting his second start of the season. This is certainly a pressure start for Musgrove who never could piece together consistent starts as an Astro. The Angels phenomenal road record of 17-8 has evened out on their current East coast trip. Thus far they are 3-4 with series against the Blue Jays, Yankees, and currently Tigers. Value lies with that angle as well as this being the Angels eighth consecutive game and third straight series on the road. Grab the road value favorite in the Angels. 

The dominant start of Charlie Morton is easy to look past with the superior talent on the Astros. Boasting a 7-0 record, Morton’s showcased a stout 2.04 ERA along with an ability to deliver high strikeouts. Coming off two consecutive starts against the Indians with supreme focus creates a chance for the Yankees to unleash on Morton. He has not seen a different opponent for over two weeks since a May 12th start against the Rangers. Grab the value here on the over as Morton’s strong start and both bullpens are factored in the number. 

The earliest game today presents an opportune value spot on the total. In five consecutive games the Indians have been involved in totals that have went over. Scenarios have involved hot bats the third time through the order as well as crushing opposing bullpens. Lucas Giolito’s 7.53 ERA combined with the Indians bullpen woes are recipes for another over. The Seattle Mariners have now won seven of eight games, including consecutive games against the Minnesota Twins. Yet, six of those wins have been by one run. Last night’s extra inning walk-off victory did not conclude until 10:53 PM PST. Therefore value lies with a below .500 team in the Twins concluding a road trip that’s also a travel day to Kansas City.

The Phillies surprise start has them with a slight NL East division lead. They’ll look to build off a Saturday’s 2-1 victory over the Blue Jays. Yet, hidden value lies with the oddsmakers peculiar road favorite line on the Blue Jays. Toronto has lost seven of nine games including two consecutive series at home. Grab the value on Toronto winning their first series in the month of May and doing so on the road.

The Angels had a hit and runs parade Saturday in the Bronx resulting in eleven runs. Can the Yankees bullpen bounce back after extended use Saturday in relief of Sonny Gray? Sunday’s starter in Masahiro Tanaka is having his roughest season to date and has not lasted beyond five innings in three straight starts. After yesterday’s combined fifteen runs grab the value on the under and Tanaka’s struggles.

Last week in the Sunday night baseball time slot the Indians Carlos Carrasco could not match the effort of Astros Lance McCullers. Now in Cleveland the Astros bats have stole the show against the Indians starting pitching and relievers. Both Thursday and Friday the Astros lit up the Indians for a combined 19-4 runs scored advantage. Grab the home value on the Indians even with an untrustworthy Indians bullpen and hot Astros team.

Pirates starter Trevor Williams ERA on May 3rd was just 2.29. Three recent inadequate starts has put Williams ERA to 3.05, including surrendering four runs in six innings May 20th against the Padres. Facing a veteran-laden St. Louis Cardinals team Saturday would figure to continue Williams northward ERA run. Instead look for Williams to settle in and the Cardinals young ace in Jack Flaherty to build off his thirteen strikeout performance last week. 

The Texas Rangers will call upon last year’s 32 year old rookie Austin Bibens-Dirx via a minor league call up. This sparks an automatic home underdog role for the Rangers even against the struggling 1-6 Royals starter in Danny Duffy. Last season Dirx struggled with command and durability issues which resulted in strict bullpen use by late July. Look for the 33 year old to be aided for the Rangers bats and bullpen.

Entering the third month of the MLB season means small sample sizes on starting pitchers is out the window. Today’s scenario lies with small ERA’s for Indians starter in Mike Clevinger(2.87) and Astros starter in Charlie Morton (1.94). Both are entering their tenth starts of the season and just registered an under matchup in Houston on May 18th. Grab the outdoor value with this series in Cleveland combined with both pitchers small ERA. 

It’s not typical to see a 15-34 team as steep road favorites. Thursday that is the case as the Orioles play in a series finale against the White Sox. Another oddity is that White Sox starter Lucas Giolito has won consecutive starts. Yet, look for the Orioles Dylan Bundy to calm the bats of the White Sox whom won 11-1 Wednesday.

Wednesday lies an opportune spot to grab the Mariners on the road against the As. The Mariners have plenty of holes in their lineup but are a confident group at 28-19. The Oakland As exceeded expectations on an east coast road trip that concluded with a sweep of the Blue Jays. Yet could not muster the home effort Tuesday in game one of their series against the Mariners. This is another spot where a team returning home is over valued, against a team in the Mariners that traveled much less of a distance to play in Oakland. Grab Seattle. 

Baltimore figures to unleash at the plate in Monday’s new series against the Chicago White Sox, after facing elite pitching against the Red Sox. Monday, they’ll get to face struggling veteran Hector Santiago. Santiago was inadequate out of the bullpen for the White Sox and has doubled-down with ineffectiveness in spot starts for the White Sox.  Yet a misnomer is available predicting the downfall of a poor team on a winning streak. Grab the White Sox to extend for their third straight victory. 

The Diamondbacks have dropped ten of eleven games showcasing major deficiencies. Minus AJ Pollock the free-fall of run production has plummeted. Over the Diamondbacks last eleven games they’ve scored one run in five games. Coming off a road sweep in New York, prospects are looking bleak against a soaring Brewers team. Although Chase Anderson has been stout against his former team there is a double-value factor to take Arizona. The Diamondbacks extended road trip and the fact that the Brewers dominated Arizona in Phoenix less than a week ago. 

Poor weather caused issues for the Washington Nationals. Three consecutive games were suspended or postponed including their opening Thursday matchup against the Dodgers. It resulted in a sluggish bats for the home Nationals that have dropped the first two games against the Dodgers. That combined with the Dodgers at the tail end of a 2,000 plus mile trip creates value on the over. 

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Yu Darvish is seven starts in and still aiming for his first win. That’s not what anyone in the front office expected but the year is still young. After playing a road double-header series Saturday, don’t expect the Cubs to fade. Grab the road value on the Cubs.

Certain matchups oddsmakers will warrant price a team accordingly no matter what. That’s been the basis for the Astros dating back to mid-season in 2017. Coupled with Dallas Keuchel’s multi-year run of home dominance and Cleveland finds themselves as an attractive incorrect road underdog. Look for Indians ace to continue to boost his 6-2 record. On paper San Diego’s game one series against the Pittsburgh Pirates looks like easy money to take the home team. Pittsburgh’s Chad Kuhl has steadied himself four of five quality starts, including a one-hit performance against the Brewers. Opposing Kuhl is San Diego’s erratic pitcher in Eric Lauer. Lauer is coming off a two inning outing in which he gave up four home runs. With the Pirates 14-6 at home grab the tough play on the Padres.

Carry over value lies with the Oakland As as a West Coast team continues traveling on the East coast. The new series in Toronto is their third after matchups against the Yankees and Red Sox. That poses solid value for Thursday on the slight underdog As. Look for the Blue Jays to struggle containing a hot offensive Oakland team.

Monday, the Braves lost their first matchup against the Cubs 3-2. They’ll look to respond Tuesday with struggling veteran Brandon McCarthy on the hill. Brandon has lost two consecutive starts ballooning his ERA over five. This has negated and impacted his value from a 4-0 start to the year. This reduced home line offers value on the Braves as bettors chase the Cubs victory yesterday. Grab Atlanta. 

The Diamondbacks continue to have issues as they’ve now lost four straight games. They’ll take on a Brewers team today that is traveling from facing a series against Colorado. The travel factor combined with the Diamondbacks losing streak are all angles for value on the Brewers. Junior Guerra’s struggles with three consecutive losses finalize this value angle. Grab the Brewers. 

Suddenly the formerly red-hot Arizona Diamondbacks have skidded with a four-game losing streak. Formulating runs has been the main issue in their current series against the Washington Nationals. Through three games they’ve scored just three runs. Yet, Sunday they’ll face veteran and former Diamondback Jeremy Hellickson. A pitcher they should be able to get back on track against. Yet, look for the Nationals to offset the Diamondbacks bats whom have also had a rut in runs scored this series. Grab Washington.

Sunday, value lies in the over on the series finale between the Rangers and Astros. Rangers pitcher Matt Moore’s woes are well documented but there is also hidden value based on the Astros. Over their last twelve games only two games have had a combined total of over nine runs. Grab the value here even with a strong ace on the hill in Dallas Keuchel. 

The Angels hot start to the season continues to leave value spots on the board against them. Saturday is another spot as the below .500 Twins will put Kyle Gibson on the mound. Gibson’s downfall this season is an opportune buy tonight as Gibson has had a not won a start since the first game of the season March 31st. Grab the value off the Twins comeback last night and Gibson’s inability to earn a decision. 

The Diamondbacks traveled home early Thursday morning after concluding their road series in LA late. This has created another conundrum on evaluating road travel to begin a road series versus a short trek to begin a home series. The Nationals are just concluded a road series in San Diego in which they lost 2-1. Yet, look for the Diamondbacks struggling bullpen to be a factor Thursday. Grab Washington.

A standout total exists tonight between the Brewers and Rockies in Colorado of 11.5. A factor for inflation on the over lies with several variables. Both starters in German Marquez and Jhoulys Chacin have ERA’s north of four and are prone to short outings. Home field incentive also lies with the fact that the Rockies six-game win streak ended yesterday in which they were shutout— a rare sight at Coors Field. Grab the value on the under. 

Tuesday, the Brewers took game one over the Indians led by a home run from pitcher Brent Suter. Suter helped fill-in for 4 2/3 after pitcher Wade Miley left after one batter to start the game. With an early start time Wednesday, a fresh bullpen is certainly a concern for the Brewers. That places value on the underdog along with starting pitcher Junior Guerra’s struggles in his last two starts. 

We’ll grab the value on the Mariners Sunday against the Angels. After nearly two weeks off with a mild left ankle sprain Shohei Ohtani will return on the mound. After two sizzling starts Ohtani had consecutive outings with issues. Look for similar issues to occur as the Mariners have found a way to give Felix Hernandez proper run support this year. 

The Mets have showcased why early in the season one can not get overly excited from a hot start. Losses have piled up in their current home stand and as pitching has decayed. In their last three games the staff has given up a combined twenty-six runs. Matz will make his first start since the 25th and should give the Mets a much needed boost. Yet, look for the Rockies to take another game in Queens.

Today the Reds find themselves at even money which is peculiar for a team that is 7-23. Furthermore, the Reds starting pitcher in Luis Castillo as struggled mightily. Overall he has a 7.85 ERA along with a 1-3 record. In his last start he didn’t make it past the first inning in allowing five runs. The Brewers will call upon veteran Wade Miley but expect the Reds to muster out the win as a Wednesday gem selection. 

The Twins free fall has featured ten losses in their last eleven games. Monday was expected to be a hot-spot for bettors in a new home-stand series against the Blue Jays. A near thirty dollar swing occurred from opening money line to close. Yet today is more of a proper opportunity. A positive from yesterday was that the Twins drove in five runs on ten hits. Look for that to carry over today against struggling starter Marco Estrada. 

Value lies on the Astros Monday as they take on the New York Yankees. Although Charlie Morton did not have his best outing in his last start, he is showcasing much more consistency than struggling Yankees starter Sonny Gray. After looking like a trade deadline high value return with Gray last season, this year it’s starting to look like the A’s won. Grab the value on the Astros. 

The Cleveland Indians will look to bounce back Sunday after a disastrous 12-4 loss Saturday to the Mariners. It was the first game of six this season between the two teams that was not decided by a run. In the loss ace Carlos Carrasco was rocked in just three innings of work. That extended the bullpen which may need high innings Sunday. Indians pitcher Josh Tomlin has had as rocky start to the 2018 campaign which creates money line value for Sunday. 

David Price’s last outing looked like it would end in a non-decision. Yet he gave up a three-run 2-out bomb in the eighth against the Oakland As to drop his season record to 2-2. The Red Sox early season dominance has them priced steep yet again against a Rays team that is growing with confidence. The Rays have won six straight to push themselves two games below .500. Grab the Rays Saturday. 

Over the years Diamondbacks pitcher Patrick Corbin has flirted with streak dominance. To start the 2018 campaign he is at it again but Saturday will mark his first 2018 start against a non NL West opponent. Three variables for value on the Diamondbacks lie with their long road trip to face the Nationals, the Nationals poor record for a foreseen dominate team, and Corbin’s continued under the radar devaluation. Yesterday’s postponed game will be re-attempted today between the Rays and Orioles. Ex-Rays pitcher Alex Cobb will hope to negate a four-game winning streak of the Rays. For Cobb it’s been a disastrous start to the season as he hasn’t lasted beyond the fourth inning in two starts. With the Rays win streak and Jacob Faria’s consecutive solid outings value lies on the Orioles.

Tuesday is an opportune medium underdog payout lying with the San Diego Padres. The Padres took game one Monday against the Colorado Rockies in dominating fashion to the tune of 13-5. That has resulted in a two-game losing streak for Colorado in a peculiar home record of just 3-7. That’s created a strong improper line for Tuesday that is heavily influenced by the Rockies home record and the Padres leaning on a new pitcher in Eric Lauer. Grab the Padres. 

The Oakland A’s continued their hot hitting with nine more runs Monday against the Rangers. The win was Oakland’s seventh in eight games creating a value spot Tuesday on Texas. Factored into Tuesday’s oddsmakers evaluation is the Rangers subpar 3-11 home record. Starting pitcher Cole Hamels has shown the decaying level of a veteran pitcher. Yet he dodged allowing a home run in his last start after allowing seven in his first four outings. Grab the value on the Rangers.

In his last start Nationals pitcher Gio Gonzalez bounced back to register a win over the New York Mets. Still, he struggled a tad allowing eight hits which has pushed his WHIP to 1.52. Furthermore, the Nationals bullpen had its issues last night on Sunday night baseball against the Dodgers. Sometimes people can overlook a solid teams issues on the road. Monday marks the Nationals seventh straight road game which has shown as they’ve been .500 at 3-3. Grab the value on the Giants. 

Value is to be had on the As yet again Sunday after yesterday’s incredible performance by pitcher Sean Manea. David Price is coming off a rare outing as a steep underdog against the Angels in which the Red Sox cashed. Instead of chasing the angle of the Red Sox bats igniting after yesterday look for the As pitching staff to continue to raise their play. Grab Oakland.

At 8-10 the Dodgers continue to falter in the first month of MLB action. Yet today’s ace in Hyun-Jin Ryu has been formidable boasting a 2-0 record and 2.87 ERA. LA should be one of the freshest teams on a nightly basis as the they’ve traveled out of state just once to Phoenix. Yet, something is awry with the team’s chemistry which has created value yet again on the Nationals. Grab Washington. 

Two of the Tampa Bay Rays wins have come with Blake Snell on the mound. The Rays are also coming off a thrilling win against the Twins yesterday of 8-7 in extras. The win gave the Ray their first win streak of the season. Yet, this is a value spot as bettors see the Rays coming to life as they head into their eighth straight home game. Grab the improper money line move here and take the Twins. 

Minimal hits allowed and a high strikeout rate has made for a low-price offering on the Twins today. The game against the Cleveland Indians will be played in Puerto Rico where Berrios is from. While he likely will have the fan support this is a devalued spot for Indians starter Carlos Carrasco who is 21-6 as a starter over his last 27 games. Grab the value here on the Indians. 

Consecutive postponed games certainly can throw a team’s routine off. That’s the scenario for the Chicago Cubs as they had their series concluding game against the Braves cancelled and yesterday’s opening series game against the Cardinals. For the Cardinals they were able to get a short travel day from Cincinnati to Chicago as an extended rest day. Tyler Chatwood’s struggles in two starts may not ease tonight but expect the Cubs bats to garner the proper run support. Grab the Cubs. 

The Mets great start at 11-1 has suddenly dipped with two losses in their last three games. Last nights bullpen meltdown is hard to ignore heading into a game two series against NL East division rivals in the Washington Nationals. It’s created an odd scenario for oddsmakers as they’ve made a below .500 Nationals team road favorites against the 12-3 Mets. It’s the proper price even if Gio Gonzalez does not last beyond five innings. Grab the Nationals.

The reigning World Series champs in the Astros lost last night in extra innings against the Rangers as steep favorites. The evening game yesterday coupled with travel to Seattle was a pre-determined factor in tonights matchup and is a no value angle. The value lies with the Astros loss last night as heavy favorites and the fact that their 1-2 starters in Justin Verlander-Dallas Keuchel rarely lose in consecutive games. Grab the home team in the Mariners. 

The Reds 2-13 start is as bad on paper as the product has looked on the field. After a couple of road series tight games against the Philadelphia Phillies, one figured they could muster a raised level of play in a home series against the Cardinals. Instead the Reds were outscored in run production by seventeen runs resulting in a series home sweep. Eight straight losses and a road game Monday has presented value against Milwaukee. After six straight road games by the Brewers grab the baited home return line on the Reds.

Sunday two early achievement disguises are not enough to trick oddsmakers. The Seattle Mariners have a solid 8-4 record and at home they’re 4-1. King Felix is also 2-1 in his three starts. Yet his ERA is 6.60 and he has had issues against the As aggressive bats in the past. Grab the As to end the Mariners four-game win streak.

Saturday the Padres will look to build on Friday’s opening series victory over the San Francisco Giants. To do so they’ll call upon pitcher Clayton Richards. Richards has struggled with durability going five innings in his last two starts. Richards only threw 76 pitches his last outing. Instead of looking at that as a non-catalyst heading into Saturday, it’ll be a value driver. Look for the Padres to win the second game in their series against the Giants.

After losing seven of eight games the Marlins finally cracked the win column Friday. Can they carry the momentum over into Saturday? To do so they’ll need to figure out a way to defeat one of the hottest pitchers in MLB. Pittsburgh’s Jameson Tailon has started the year off with a 1.26 ERA. He’s also coming off a one-hit shutout performance against Cincinnati. Yet the advantage here lies with the Marlins continued games at home. Thus far of their thirteen games they’ve only been on the road for three. Grab the value on the Marlins.  

The struggling Reds are coming off an extra inning game at Philadelphia. Road trips to start the season are always tough. For the Reds they’ve played seven straight on the road while the Cardinals have played six straight at home. Yet there is value to be had here on the home Reds as Michael Wacha still hasn’t exhibited road worthy value yet. Grab the Reds. 

After a dominate year in 2017 the LA Dodgers are inexplicably out the gate with issues. Justin Turners hand injury has been a bigger void than anticipated. Tonight the Dodgers will call upon struggling pitcher Ryu against the As.  With Monday having been a day off for both teams one would expect the Dodgers to get back on track tonight. Instead grab the As on a hinted underdog moneyline. 

One of the biggest surprises out the gate to start the MLB season has been the LA Angels. In a young season bettors and oddsmakers are not going to ignore the fact that five of the Angels wins have been against the Oakland As. That creates value for Tuesday as the Angels play only their second road game outside of the state of California this season. Pay the price on the Angels momentum and the Rangers unsteady pitching.  

Baltimore’s effective road series in New York resulted in three of four wins. Raising their ATS attraction into Monday is the fact that they won as steep underdogs in all of those victories at +210, +160, and yesterday at +170. They’ll take on a Blue Jays team that is coming off a road series in Texas. Travel combined with the Orioles recent success are value attractors on the Blue Jays. Grab Toronto. 

Saturday the Chicago Cubs stole a game away from NL Central division rivals in the Milwaukee Brewers. That’s a noticeable momentum boost heading into Sunday’s series closeout game. Although Sunday’s starter in Jose Quintana has struggled looked for the Cubs bats to finish how they concluded yesterday. This is the tough oddsmaker road price on the Cubs. 

The Diamondbacks are off to another hot start as they stand at 6-1. Oddly enough their lone loss on the season came with Zach Greinke on the mound. This outing may not be a question on if Greinke can limit the Cardinals run support but more on the Diamondbacks bullpen. In five of their seven games the Diamondbacks have limited opposing teams to two runs or less. Look for the Cardinals to get their bats going to aid Michael Wacha.

Friday a travel-day becomes the value indicator as the Blue Jays travel to take on the Texas Rangers. Texas has won two of three games to make their record more respectable at 3-5. They also played in Oakland yesterday while the Blue Jays were on a travel day to Texas. Look for Matt Moore’s struggles the past two seasons to continue as the Blue Jays start this series on the right foot.

One of the plaguing epidemics for Jake Odorizzi as a Tampa Bay Ray was a lack of run support. In his debut as a Minnesota Twin he experienced an all too familiar no decision in a quality start. Meanwhile Ivan Nova of the Pirates lasted just five innings on the road against Detroit, yet he has shown to be a stout home pitcher. Grab the value on the undefeated Pirates.

In his first start of the season Braves starter Julio Teheran was able to dodge a shaky outing with run support. Today he’ll face a Nationals team that he had immense success against in 2017. In starts in the months of June, July, and September he logged stats of 21 innings pitched and just two earned runs. Yet this is a spot for Nationals pitcher AJ Cole to showcase his growth. In his debut three years ago he was rocked for nine hits and four runs in just two innings against the Braves. Look for a showcase performance and the Nationals to get the win on the road. 

Value lurks later this morning as the Cardinals travel to take on the Brewers. Of course this is the Cardinals fourth road game and with no days rest after completing their Mets series yesterday. Milwaukee has started 3-0 with fresh top bats in the lineup. Zach Davies has been solid the past two years in terms of wins but is still one to be leery of in terms of his ERA. Grab the value on St. Louis. 

A pitcher that showed flashes of a great arsenal without the results has been Vince Velasquez. Some of that had to do with the pressure of playing for a Phillies team that struggled to get wins in general. Yet Velasquez’s ERA of 4.45 and issues with walks is a concern against a retooled Braves lineup. Look for veteran Brandon McCarthy to offset the Phillies. Grab Atlanta. 

Expectations for both the Mets and Cardinals fell through a year ago. The Mets hope they can get off on the right foot as they take on the Cardinals at home with their ace Noah Syndergaard. Syndergaard is coming off a year in which he regained his command. Yet to start the season the value should be on the Cardinals bullpen over the Mets. Look for that to be the difference in a nice plus payout for opening day.

San Francisco +160

The Giants head to Colorado to face a team in need of wins. Colorado’s early season success has diminished as the Diamondbacks and Dodgers run away with the division. Pitcher Ty Blach is a heavy underdog here for proper reasons as he has lost four consecutive starts. Two of those were against the lowly ball clubs of the Padres and Phillies. Yet, expect a solid team performance here from the Giants. Grab the nice payout here.

One of the biggest surprises amongst starting pitchers has been the Nationals Gio Gonzalez. Gonzalez boasts a 13-5 record and over his last five starts has allowed three total runs. Opposite him Thursday is 15-7 starter Zach Davies. While Davies has been equally impressive in the win-loss department, grab the Nationals to showcase proper money line value.

Red Sox pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez has one of the more eye-popping streaks going. Five straight starts he has gone without a decision. In fact, he has not won a start since May 26th. Off of an embarrassing loss of 16-3 to Baltimore on Friday, look for things to correct at the plate and on the mound for Boston. Grab the Red Sox here. 

Friday, the Minnesota Twins find themselves in a road series in Toronto. Off of consecutive losses to the White Sox, the Twins will need to muster some balance in one of the toughest road environments. To do so they’ll rely on veteran Bartolo Colon. While Colon has a whopping whip of 1.64 he is doing just enough to offset his early season rust. Grab the value here on the Twins.

Rangers pitcher Martin Perez has been functional in terms of wins with three consecutive. Yet, he has not been sharp including his last start in which he surrendered six runs against the White Sox. Thursday they’ll look to end their first of three road series on a positive note against the Angels. Grab the road value here on Texas.

Wednesday the Astros struggled to muster runs off of well traveled veteran Edwin Jackson. That is a key carry over into Thursday’s money line as the Astros face 10-4 ace Stephen Strasburg.  Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel was sharp in his last start against the As, shaking off rust from a stint on the DL. Tuesday the Braves pitching staff surrendered just five hits to defeat the Mariners 4-0. The outing presented the obvious that road fatigue could be setting in for the Mariners. Wednesday marks their sixth straight road game as they embark on a total of twelve. Look for veteran Erasamo Ramirez and the Mariners bats to showcase that the oddmakers are correct tabbing them as slight favorites.

The standout Monday is view is how Cole Hamels is such a steep underdog. He boasts a 10-1 record and familiarity of two matchups against the Angels this year. The short answer is Hamels has used his crafty veteran ability to get out of tough jams/situations. Yet look for the Angels to pull through a third time against Hamels. The price is right on a move for the Angels Monday.

Sunday, the reverse angle of Saturday is in line for the Mariners and Rays. Saturday backers of Seattle were able to reap an underdog payout based on the young Ariel Miranda facing struggling veteran Jake Odorizzi. It’s reverse Sunday as the veteran Yovanni Gallardo of the Mariners is opposed the Rays youngster Blake Snell. Compounding matters is the fact that the Rays have lost eight of nine. The only pitcher to garner a win during that stretch was Snell. Look for Snell to get his second consecutive victory on Sunday.  

The Astros are heavy home favorites Saturday with Colin McHugh on the mound. McHugh has battled injuries to return to the starting rotation with an 0-2 record and a 4.88 ERA. Certainly not worthy numbers for a high favorite against a capable pitcher in Kendall Graveman. But seek the value as the Astros solidify their home dominance against the abysmal As 19-38 road record.

Friday, the Diamondbacks travel to Minnesota to embark on a three-game weekend road series. An impressive shutout 4-0 win Thursday against the Astros was done so without use of the bullpen. That’s a prime factor against a Twins team that played in a home double-header Thursday against the Indians. Grab the Diamondbacks here. 

It’s always tough facing a former team, and even tougher as a borderline starter. Mariners pitcher Erasamo Ramirez will take on the challenge Friday as he squares off against the Rays.  Rays starter Austin Pruitt has shown merit in his last three starts against prime competition in the Astros, Red Sox, and Indians. Yet, side with the Mariners to end Pruitt’s solid starts streak.

Off a gut-wrenching walk off loss to the Red Sox the Cardinals will take a short trip to Pittsburgh for Thursday. Tied into Thursday’s line is the fact that the Pirates are returning home from a seven-game road trip. Even though Adam Wainwright hasn’t lost since June 17th, grab the home edge with the Pirates. 

Boston’s surge continued Tuesday with a 10-4 win over the Cardinal. They’ve now won eleven of thirteen games and are doing it with uplifting play from their young bats. One pitcher that hasn’t joined in on the wins yet is Eduardo Rodriguez. Winless since May 26th he has been the culprit of poor run support or bullpen woes. Tonight look for that to end and Rodriguez to get on track. 

We’ll grab the value on the away Braves today as Chad Bettis makes his return debut. This line has dropped thirteen dollars from the opener due to Bettis unknown productivity. Yet, don’t be leery to jump in here as Teheran’s struggles have been sporadic but not to the level of degree priced here. Although Colorado’s bats are always tough at home back Atlanta here. 

For Sunday we’ll look at the Cubs-Dbacks closeout game. This has been the feature MLB series of the weekend and should be another dandy Sunday. With veteran pitcher Jon Lester showcasing increased form yesterday one may expect the same from Jake Arrieta Sunday. Instead look for the DBacks Zack Godley to outduel Arrieta and lead the Dbacks to victory.

Consecutive short outings from Oakland’s pitcher Sean Manaea is a prime factor in Saturday’s matchup against Baltimore. He has lasted just three innings in matchups versus the Angels and San Francisco. Expect Oakland’s slumping offense to generate some confidence for Manaea and get Oakland back in the win column.

It’s no secret that the Cubs playing on the road in Arizona is essentially a home game. Ex-Chicago residents currently in Arizona flock to the stadium yearly. That’s a factor in a line that should essentially be more even. Grab the value on the Diamondbacks and struggling pitcher Patrick Corbin.

Spot duty starting pitching of the unknown is typically a detractor in the betting market. Toronto will rely on Chris Rowley against a Pittsburgh team that scored four runs off of Marcus Stroman Friday. Factor in Trevor Williams impressive one-hit performance in his last start and you have home value on the Blue Jays. Grab Toronto.

As the Royals fight for playoff positioning they can ill-afford to have any letdowns against sub par teams. A sweep of the White Sox is expected even in a road environment beginning Friday. Sometimes teams overdo it at the trade deadline and lose a grip on momentum. That appears to be the case for the Royals as they’ve lost nine of eleven games. Grab the value on the underdog White Sox.

Jaime Garcia’s Yankees debut last week did not go according to the Yankees trade plans. Garcia lasted less than five innings as the Indians scored five runs off of him. Results for Boston’s Friday starter in Eduardo Rodriguez have been on a prolonged slump. His last win came in May 26th. Look for Rodriguez to avoid untimely walks and hits to deliver the road underdog win.

Thursday, the Mets corrected an elongated losing streak that featured eight of ten losses. They dominated a road series debut matchup against the woeful Phillies. Although Phillies pitcher Nick Pivetta is coming off a disastrous two-inning start against Colorado, the proper play is on the home Phillies.

The Dodgers incredible run has revved up nightly attraction. That doesn’t change on Thursday as the addition of pitcher Yu Darvish takes the mound. Last week in his first start since being traded he delivered a stellar outing on the road against the Mets. This would seem as another safe spot to back the Dodgers with inexperienced Diamondback starter in Anthony Banda on the hill Thursday. Instead grab the egregious spread differential here on the home Dbacks.

The Royals were one of the more aggressive teams before the MLB trade deadline. In acquiring pitcher Trevor Cahill the Royals were expecting his steady play as a Padre to carry over. Instead he has allowed four home runs in two short starts. Look for Cahill to gain support Wednesday as Mike Leake has been a beneficiary of statistics that haven’t warranted his effectiveness.

The Reds were stymied on Tuesday against the Padres by early runs. Wednesday the Padres will try to rely on veteran Travis Wood. Wood has done enough in his first two starts as a Padre to foresee continued rising value on the Padres. Yet, I think this is a safe spot to secure a rare expensive price for a team twenty-one games below .500. Grab the Reds.

Monday’s starter for the Angels is JC Ramirez. His inability to win consecutive games is a value detractor against Baltimore. In fact, Ramirez has not won consecutive starts since late May. Yet I’ll side with his pitching to hold fort and the Angels bats to be effective Monday.

The current market on Sunday’s Diamondbacks and Giants matchup is tight in the oddsmakers eyes. Jeff Samardzija is at his peak with consecutive strong outings. Meanwhile opposite is struggling Diamondbacks pitcher Patrick Corbin. Look for Corbin’s woes to subside Sunday and the hot hitting Diamondbacks to pull through. Grab Arizona

Command of Friday’s matchup against the Twins faltered early for the Rangers. Starter Martin Perez didn’t have command yet withstood to stay in the game. That’s an important factor for Saturday as the Rangers bullpen avoided lengthy use. Grab the steady veteran in Cole Hamels to deliver on the road Saturday.

Wednesday the Yankees lineup struck out eleven times against Indians ace Corey Kluber. The offense figures to have it much easier against Trevor Bauer on Friday. Yet for the second consecutive evening the Yankees will go with a new pitcher in Jaime Garcia whom was acquired via trade. Back the Indians here who will win with their team familiarity at home Friday.

Today a prime price is available on the Orioles, due to starting pitcher Chris Tillman’s 1-6 record and sky high ERA. While Detroit has won four of five against the Yankees and Astros, look for a reversal today in a new series against the Orioles. Grab Baltimore here.

Rays rookie pitcher Jacob Faria has shown he has a bright future in MLB. Overall he has a 5-1 record while an impressive 2.67 ERA. Overcoming tough spots with runners in scoring position has been his prime uplifting factor. Sunday look for Faria to come down to Earth a bit as the Yankees grab another win.

The DBacks continue their road series against St. Louis Saturday with dominant starter in Zach Greinke on the diamond. Concerns may reside with the availability of the Diamondbacks bullpen after prime use Friday. Although Mike Leake is coming off a strong outing against the Rockies back the Diamondbacks here Saturday.

Team momentum can blossom into something special. That appears to be occurring with the Kansas City Royals. Saturday they’ll aim for their tenth consecutive victory after an opening series 4-2 win over Boston Friday. Newly acquired pitcher in Trevor Cahill isn’t electric but expect him to fill the role the Royals desperately needed. Grab Kansas City to win their tenth in a row.

The Mets find themselves as steep road favorites Saturday against the Mariners. This is a quick turn around game after Friday’s late night game one matchup. Mets pitcher Jacob Degrom has a remarkable 25% of the Mets wins on the season. That’s devalued here as oddsmakers have factored in the Mets road travels.

Favorable odds were given in the Mets recent series on the road against the Padres. Heading up to Seattle the odds placement is flipped for game one. Look for the woes of Mets pitcher Rafael Montero to continue as he is 1-7 and has struggled in four seasons in the majors. Grab the home Mariners.
